Alaska Performance Scholarship

The Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS) is Alaska's merit-based scholarship program awarding eligible students up to $28,000 total towards their postsecondary education. To qualify, Alaska high school students must complete a specific rigorous high school curriculum and meet either a minimum GPA or standardized test score requirement.

The UA Scholars Award is a $15,000 scholarship awarded to students in the top ten percent of their Alaska high school class at the end of their junior year. The award may be used toward the cost of attendance at any location within the University of Alaska system. UA Scholars have a 6-year graduation rate nearly double that of all first-time students.

$500 to $4,000 per academic year · Alaska resident for at least 365 days, U.S. citizen or permanent resident, high school diploma or GED, admitted to undergraduate degree or vocational certificate program at qualifying Alaska institution, enrolled at least half-time, no prior baccalaureate degree.
The Alaska Education Grant (AEG) provides need-based financial aid to eligible Alaska students attending qualifying postsecondary educational institutions in Alaska. AEG awards range from $500 to $4,000 per academic year. FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is required in order to receive AEG.
