A full-tuition scholarship was established in memory of Ana Tapia. Ana was a first year graduate student in the Master of Public Health Program at Fresno State when she tragically lost her life in a car accident. A four-year renewable undergraduate scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student who demonstrates financial need, educational promise, and has earned a cumulative 3.50 grade point average. First preference shall be given to a student who has graduated from Fowler High School. In the absence of such a qualified student, then other high school graduates from the following counties may be considered: Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, San Luis Obispo, Stanislaus or Tulare.

The Claude Laval Entrepreneur Mentor Award is in honor of a Fresno civic leader, entrepreneur, and a co-founder of the Laval Entrepreneur Mentor Program. The award of $2,500 is made to a mentor student who best exemplifies the goals and ideals of the Laval Entrepreneur Mentor Program through commitment, contribution, and pursuit of the core activities that define the program. Students are eligible for the award based on the following qualifications: Current or prior enrollment in the Laval Entrepreneur Mentor Program. Currently a student in good standing. High attendance and participation in the Laval Entrepreneur Mentor Program. Demonstrated commitment to excellence, learning, and the application of entrepreneurial skills. High level of respect from both Laval Entrepreneur Mentor Program students and Community Mentors. Application Process for the scholarship will include the following: Submit a statement expressing your vision for the future, the role entrepreneurship will play in that future, how you have contributed to the learning process of other Student Mentors, and how the Laval Entrepreneur Mentor Program will contribute to your future success. One letter of support from a Student Mentor. One letter of support from two Community Mentors (one having to be an individual who was not assigned to be a mentor). A copy of your Skills Handbook which demonstrates the level of engagement in the program in all of its aspects. You will need to scan all the requested documentation and then upload it before the scholarship deadline. A scholarship fund has been endowed in memory of June Clendenin by her son, Dr. W. Ritchie Clendenin, former professor of Trumpet at California State University, Fresno. For 27 years, from 1991 to 2018, June Clendenin provided funding at California State University, Fresno for five brass scholarships, thus making possible high-level brass chamber music in the Clendenin Brass Quintet. She received her early training in piano from Catherine Saurer who was a graduate of the American Conservatory in Chicago. She was awarded a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Illinois where she was a student of renowned pianist Stanley Fletcher. June was an elementary school teacher for many years in the Boulder Valley School district in Colorado. As a pianist, she taught and performed extensively in Colorado, especially with her son Dr. W.
