Scholarships at University of California-Riverside

Bernarr J. Hall Agricultural Scholarship – Awards up to $1,500 to upper-division students (juniors or seniors) within College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences with a Minimum 3.2 GPA, CA residents. Preference will be given to residents of San Diego County, CA.

Dr. Janet M. Boyce Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund for Women Majoring in the Sciences – Awards up to $2,000 to females undergraduate or graduate students within CNAS, majoring in the sciences, 3.5 Minimum GPA.

Frank Cozza Scholarship in Plant Science – Awards up to $1,000 to undergraduate students within CNAS majoring in Plant Sciences. Students should have junior standing with minimum 3.25 GPA.

The Barbara B. Brink Graduate Travel Award in Art History is open to graduating seniors attending the University of California, Riverside. You must be majoring in art history to be eligible for this award.

The Building Industry Association Foundation Fund is open to students attending the University of California, Riverside. You must be majoring in political science and be in a building or construction related field or considering one as a career to be eligible for this award.

The Carl Strom / Western Exterminator Company Scholarship in Urban Entomology is open to undergraduate or graduate students attending the University of California, Riverside. You must have research emphasis that benefits the structural pest control industry of California to be eligible for this award.

The Classics Prize in Latin and Greek is open to undergraduate or graduate students attending the University of California, Riverside. You must be studying the classics to be eligible for this award.

Dana C King Scholarship – Awards undergraduate students who are pursuing a career in agricultural industry. Preference will be given to students in agriculture having an interest in a career in the citrus industry in Southern California.

The Donald C. Young Endowed Scholarship in Physical Sciences Fund will provide support to undergraduate students in Physical Sciences.

Dr. Mir S. Mulla & Leila Mulla Endowed Scholarship Fund – Provides a merit scholarship to undergraduate and/or graduate students within CNAS majoring in Entomology or Bio-Agricultural and/or Biomedical Sciences. Minimum 3.5 GPA required.

The Dr. Montakhab Scholarship Fund provides tuition support for undergraduate students in a degreed program offered by The College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences.

Hasegawa Memorial Fund- Awards one scholarship to an outstanding undergraduate student who has completed his junior year to be used in the senior year majoring in crop agriculture. Students majoring in Entomology, Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences,Microbiology and Plant Pathology, Molecular, Cell & Systems Biology, Soils and Plant Nutrition, Plant Nematology, Plant Sciences, Biology and Agricultural Economics will be considered.

Herbert Kraft Scholarship – Awards CNAS undergraduate and graduate students who are California high school graduates majoring in the field of agriculture, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to high school graduates from Tehama, Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Mendocino, Plumas, Shasta, or Trinity Counties.

The Inclusive Excellence Travel Fund will be awarded to underrepresented graduate students in a STEM field of study who have the opportunity to meaningfully participate in an academic conference ( in person or virtual) and are making acceptable progress within normative time toward a degree. Financial need will be taken in consideration. All students who meet the eligibility requirements will be considered, but students are especially encouraged to apply if this will be their first academic conference.

James & Margaret Lesley Annual Prize -Awards undergraduate or graduate UCR students who completed the best 2-3 pages research report in Biological or Agricultural Sciences.

The John Phillips Memorial Scholarship is open to undergraduate or graduate students attending the University of California, Riverside. You must be interested in British culture and society and planning on studying or conducting research in the United Kingdom to be eligible for this award. Undergraduates must have a minimum 3.25 GPA and graduates must have a minimum 3.5 GPA.

The Karin Moore Gandolfo Scholarship will be awarded to outstanding undergraduate women students majoring in Chemistry at UC Riverside. Eligible students must be women, enrolled full-time as undergraduates, be in good academic standing, and study chemistry as a major. All eligible students will be considered, but students who have demonstrated one or more of the following criteria are especially encouraged to apply: 1.Outstanding achievements in chemistry classes, and a demonstrated capacity to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in chemistry. 2.Outstanding achievements in chemistry laboratory research, broadly defined. 3.Limited access to other funding resources. Financial need will be a consideration among equally meritorious candidates.

The Kenneth Nobles Memorial Scholarship is open to student-athletes attending the University of California, Riverside. Selection will be based upon academic achievement and financial need.

The 2020 Kuwana & Sawyer Undergraduate Award in Analytical Chemistry will be awarded to undergraduate students who have shown excellence in Analytical Chemistry at UC Riverside. Eligible students must be, enrolled full-time as undergraduates, be in good academic standing, and study chemistry as a major or perform research in a UCR analytical chemistry laboratory. All eligible students will be considered, but students who have demonstrated one or more of the following criteria are especially encouraged to apply: 1.Outstanding achievements in analytical chemistry classes, and a demonstrated capacity to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in chemistry. 2.Outstanding achievements in analytical chemistry laboratory research, broadly defined. 3.Limited access to other funding resources. Financial need will be a consideration among equally meritorious candidates.

Loma Verde Ranch Endowment Fund – Awards CNAS undergraduate and graduate students pursuing agricultural research at UCR.

The Marguleas Sorority/Fraternity Service Award is open to students attending the University of California, Riverside. You must be a member of a sorority or fraternity and demonstrate leadership and involvement in the area of philanthropy and service to others to be eligible for this award.

The Marguleas/Weiman Humanitarian of the Year Endowed Service Award is open to graduating seniors attending the University of California, Riverside. You must have demonstrated outstanding volunteer service to be eligible for this award.

Mark J. and Even Schroeder Endowed Student Award-Foundation – Awards undergraduate students within CNAS majoring in Environmental Sciences, Earth Science, or a related field. Preference should be given to students with a research interest involving fire science.

Myron Winslow Scholarship – Awards undergraduates students interested in pursuing careers in agricultural sciences or veterinary medicine. Students should have a Minimum 3.0 GPA, be residents of Riverside or San Bernardino Counties and have a financial need.

Nathaniel T. Coleman Endowed Scholarship – Awards scholarships to continuing undergraduate UCR students, having completed one year of study at UCR, with a 3.25 GPA, and having their major within CNAS departments.

Charles W. Coggins, Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund – Awards scholarship support to graduate students within CNAS who demonstrate academic excellence, quality research, and benefit to the citrus industry.

Donald and Elaine Munnecke Endowed Student Award Fund – Provides support to an undergraduate student in the College of Agricultural Sciences who demonstrates exceptional academic achievement and is interested in agriculture.

Homer and Daisy Chapman Endowment Scholarship Fund for Citrus/Soil – Awards once a year scholarship assistance to undergraduate or graduate students wishing to pursue studies and research in any phase of citriculture being actively pursued at UCR. Preference will be given to foreign students.

The James Merrill and Adeline Wallace Annual Prize-Awards scholarship funds to a undergraduate or graduate UCR student in Agricultural and/or Biological Sciences who completed the best 1000 word report of completed original research in citrus virology and citrus pathology.

The Leonard Family Foundation Graduate Scholar Fund will provide one quarter of support for one life sciences student majoring in a CNAS doctoral program. All first year CNAS Ph.D students are encouraged to apply.

Vicki L. Schechtman Scholarship Fund will support students who demonstrate financial need and academic proficiency in science studies.

The Women's Tennis Scholarship is open to student-athletes attending the University of California, Riverside. You must be a member of the tennis team to be eligible for this award.

The Yolanda T. Moses Endowed Fund for Student Support in Anthropology is open to anthropology undergraduate or graduate students attending the University of California, Riverside.
