Scholarships at College of the Redwoods

The Catherine Briggs Memorial Scholarship is available to continuing students at the College of the Redwoods. You must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, be enrolled in the LVN program, and be enrolled in a minimum of 10 credits to be eligible for this award.

The Dennis Gabbert Memorial Scholarship is available to students at the College of the Redwoods. You must be majoring in music with an emphasis on piano or voice, have a minimum GPA of 2.0, and be enrolled in at least 12 credits to be eligible for this award. You must also be a Humboldt County high school graduate with preference given to graduates of Eureka High School.

The Duane Allen Jr. Memorial Scholarship is available to continuing students at College of the Redwoods. You must be from Del Norte, Humboldt, or Siskiyou County and have a minimum GPA of 2.0 to be eligible for this award. Preference is given to Native American students.

Scholarship for undergraduate students enrolled full-time at Humboldt State University or College of the Redwoods majoring in Nursing. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, financial need, and be Humboldt County, California high school graduates OR long-time residents of Humboldt County. A personal statement must be included with application packet.

Scholarship for undergraduate students enrolled at an accredited four-year postsecondary institution. Students must be Fortuna Union or Ferndale High Schools graduates or residents of either school district for a minimum of three years and have completed general education requirements at the College of the Redwoods. A personal statement must be included with application packet. Renewable.

The John Heath Memorial Scholarship is available to diesel/heavy equipment students at the College of the Redwoods. You must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, be currently enrolled in at least 12 credits and demonstrate strong motivation to qualify for this award.

Scholarship for undergraduate students enrolled at the College of the Redwoods or Humboldt State University majoring in Nursing. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be graduates of a Humboldt County, California high school. Consideration may be given to financial need. Number of awards may vary. A personal statement must be included with application packet.

Annual award for undergraduate students enrolled at Humboldt State University or the College of the Redwoods majoring in Music. Students must be serious piano students. Consideration may be given to financial need. A personal statement must be included with application packet. Nonrenewable; recipients may reapply.

The Lt. Commander Curt Barkdull Memorial Scholarship is available to students at College of the Redwoods. You must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits to be eligible for this award. Preference is given to graduates of Fortuna High School.

Scholarship for graduating high school seniors from a Humboldt County, California high school planning to attend Humboldt State University or College of the Redwoods majoring in Photography. Students must have financial need and a sincere interest in the field of photography. A personal statement must be included with application packet.

Scholarship for undergraduate students enrolled at Humboldt State University or College of the Redwoods. Students must have financial need, be graduates of Humboldt County, California or GED recipients, and have successfully completed a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. A personal statement must be included with application packet.

The R.A. Anderson Memorial Scholarship is available to students at the College of the Redwoods. You must have a minimum GPA of 2.0, be enrolled in a minimum of nine credits, and have completed athletic eligibility in an intercollegiate sport to be eligible for this award. Preference is given to students involved in youth mentoring.

Annual award for undergraduate students enrolled at Humboldt State University or College of the Redwoods. Students must be returning to school after a minimum of five years away from school and have completed a minimum of one college semester. Consideration may be given to financial need. A personal statement must be included with application packet.

Annual award for undergraduate students enrolled at the College of the Redwoods majoring in a Health Care field. Students must have financial need and have attended a high school in Humboldt County, California. Preference given to students with previous experience as in-home care providers. A personal statement must be included with application packet.

The Tom Clayton Scholarship is available to students at College of the Redwoods. You must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units and majoring in science to be eligible for this award.

The Verner W. Huntus Memorial Scholarship is available to students at the College of the Redwoods. You must be majoring in computer information systems, have a minimum GPA of 2.0, and be currently enrolled in at least 12 credits to be eligible for this award. Preference is given to Washington state high school graduates.

The Victoria A. Nicholson Memorial Scholarship is available to continuing students at College of the Redwoods. You must be majoring in registered nursing and have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award. Preference is given to students with dependent children or financial need.

The Warren Hanchett Forestry Scholarship is available to students at the College of the Redwoods. You must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, have completed at least 12 credits and be currently enrolled in at least 12 credits to be eligible for this award. Students who work part - time only need to be currently enrolled in six credits.

Scholarship for undergraduate students enrolled at the College of the Redwoods majoring in a Legal Secretary, Court Reporter, or Paralegal field. Consideration may be given to financial need. A personal statement must be included with application packet.
