Scholarships at Waubonsee Community College

Growing demand and lack of qualified workers in skilled trades and technology means it’s a great time to go back to school and enter these lucrative and fast-growing industries. To help keep up with demand and assist the next generation of professionals, ISN will award a $2,000 scholarship four times a year to eligible students.

This foundation manages over 200 individual donor scholarships, with the average award being $1,000. One application grants access to award opportunities. To be considered for 100% of opportunities, a student’s EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) from their FAFSA application will be needed. Students with no EFC will be considered for 20% of opportunities. See link for details.

COWL Scholarships are for women 25 years of age or older, who are Illinois residents, with plans to attend an accredited school in Illinois. COWL endeavors to support women of all income levels who, for various reasons, have not had the opportunity to continue their education.

Only currently enrolled students may apply. This assistance is designed to help students continue their education at Waubonsee Community College that directly impacts their classes. The emergency must be a “one-time, new barrier or obstacle” that is “unexpected or unusual”: Provide clear, supporting documents of the circumstance Submit a clear statement on how this impacts their ability to attend classes for the semester Have completed 6 credits at Waubonsee Community College Are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours Have demonstrated potential for academic success Academically in good standing Do not have student conduct cases that put them in a negative standing at the College Funding is provided through donations, amounts are limited and not all requests are approved. The maximum amount awarded is $1,000 with the average amount awarded between $200 to $500. If you have any questions or need assistance, contact emergencyneeds@waubonsee.edu. Once you create a password, you will receive an email with a link to click on to confirm your identity. New students: First, submit a New Student Application (NSA): waubonsee.edu/nsif. After your form has been processed, you will be assigned a Waubonsee student ID number (x-number) and may begin the scholarship account activation process. Click on the “Sign Up” button above. Enter the email address you used to complete the NSA and create a password. Note: Once you have registered and been assigned a Waubonsee student email, this will become your default username. Once you create a password, you will receive an email with a link to click on to confirm your identity.

Northwestern Memorial Foundation is dedicated to supporting the educational interests and goals of individuals who are pursuing, or who plan to pursue, careers in health care through education scholarships.

Need-based grant for women whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to complete a degree or certification that will improve their marketable skills for employment to support themselves and/or their families.

The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional high school senior women to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the United States or Canada in the next academic year.

The Dream Award scholarship is awarded on basis of financial need, academic record, leadership, community activities, and/or work experience. This organization also administers applications for 100+ other individually managed scholarships across the U.S.A. See link and website for more details.
