The scholarship shall be funded and awarded on a one-time basis for the Spring 2021 semester. The total amount of the award(s) shall be $2,500. Award Distribution: $1,500 to an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Theta Zeta Chapter; $1,000 to an African-American female undergraduate student who is a non-active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. To qualify for the $1,500 scholarship, a student must meet the following: • Be an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Theta Zeta Chapter; • Be a full-time undergraduate student with at least sophomore standing; • Be a first-generation college student; • Be an African-American female; • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; • Participate in leadership, volunteer, civic, or campus activities; and • Demonstrate a financial need as determined by the institution. To qualify for the $1,000 scholarship, a student must meet the following: • Be a full-time undergraduate student with at least sophomore standing; • Be a first-generation college student; • Be an African-American female; • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; • Participate in leadership, volunteer, civic, or campus activities; and • Demonstrate a financial need as determined by the institution.

To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: A. Enrolled full-time in undergraduate Nursing, undergraduate Medical Laboratory Science, or master’s degree Occupational Therapy. B. Student must be enrolled in the clinical/professional phase of their program. C. Student must be a resident of North Louisiana.

The A. C. Breckenridge Memorial Scholarship was established by the Northeast Louisiana Contractors/A.G.C., Inc. in memory of A. C. Breckenridge, a prominent building contractor in northeast Louisiana. 1. Recipient(s) must be pursuing a degree in Construction. 2. Recipient(s) must have at least a 2.5 Cumulative GPA. 3. To renew the scholarship, the recipient(s) must earn at least a 2.5 Cumulative GPA each semester.

Scholarship for close relatives of current Abell Corporation employees who are undergraduate students enrolled full-time at the University of Louisiana-Monroe. Students who are incoming freshmen must have a minimum B average; upperclass students must have a minimum 3.0 CGPA. Deadlines and award amounts may vary.

The Abell Scholarship was established by the Nelson and Bennie Abell family for the benefit of Abell Corporation employees and their families. 1. Recipient(s) must be a close relative of a current employee of Abell Corporation. In the event that Abell Corporation no longer exists, the Nelson Abell family foundation would provide recommendations for the scholarship recipients. 2. For an incoming freshman, the recipient(s) must have a 3.0 GPA graduating from high school. 3. If awarded to an upper class person, the recipient(s) must have a 3.0 CUM GPA on all work pursued to date. 4. Recipient(s) must maintain a 3.0 CUM GPA and his/her close relative must currently be employed with Abell Corporation to renew the scholarship each semester. 5. Recipient selection is based upon personal character, activities, involvement, and good citizenship. 6. The scholarship will be renewable for up to four years or eight semesters. Requests for funding of the scholarship beyond these limits must be submitted in writing to the ULM Foundation and approved by the Abell Corporation.

Established by family and friends in memory of Ada Bess Hart. . The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students in the Department of Kinesiology. To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. B. Recipient(s) must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses and must have completed a minimum of 30 hours. C. Scholarship is renewable if a 2.5 cumulative GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree. D. Recipient(s) must be an active member of the Association of Students in Kinesiology (ASK).

This scholarship is established in the memory of Allen B. Thigpen by his family and friends. Allen was a University of Louisiana Monroe Pharmacy Student and a member of the “Sound of Today” Marching Band. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving Pharmacy students. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time (12 hours or more) student pursuing a degree in Pharmacy. 2. Recipient(s) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. 3. Preference will be given to students from Ouachita Parish area. 4. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications will receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree. Should the recipient(s) drop out of the pharmacy program, the scholarship will be awarded to another applicant who meets the criteria for selection. 5. Recipient(s) must demonstrate the high caliber of character and citizenship exemplified by Allen Thigpen.

The scholarship shall be named the Allison Grace Honeycutt Memorial Scholarship, established by her parents, Valerie and Blayne, in loving honor and memory of Allison, who passed away on December 20, 2013, at the age of 19. Allison had a gentle caring manner and free-spirited approach to life and was a gift to all who knew her. The purpose of this endowment is to provide scholarships for deserving elementary education students at ULM, her father’s undergrad alma mater. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION: To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. B. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. C. Scholarship is renewable if the GPA required by the MAT exam is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree. D. Recipient(s) must address the following three criteria as completely as possible in a short essay form, giving examples of how he/she meets these criteria: 1. Recipient(s) must be an independent thinker, compassionate and empathetic. 2. Recipient(s) eligibility shall not be biased on race, color, creed or religion, national origin, sexual orientation, marital or parental status, age, handicap, veteran status or political belief. 3. Recipient(s) should possess a free-spirited, non-judgmental attitude similar to Allison, with a love for teaching young children and helping them to love and respect themselves. *IV. SELECTION OF RECIPIENT: * The Honeycutt family will review applications and essays, and send recommended recipient(s) name(s) to the University of Louisiana at Monroe Scholarship Committee for final selection(s). The name of recipient(s) shall be forwarded to the Scholarship Office as soon as selection is made.

The Alton McCready Memorial Scholarship was established by friends and family to honor the memory of an outstanding businessman, husband, father, and friend to all who knew him. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students in the ULM School of Sciences, in the interests including, but not limited to, the study of physics. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in the ULM School of Sciences in programs including, but not limited to, the study of physics. 2. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only. Recipient(s) must exhibit qualities of integrity and high moral character as personified by Alton McCready. The Amvets Post 66 Scholarship was established by the local organization to provide scholarships for deserving descendants of American veterans. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student who is a family member of an American veteran, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. If no candidate meets this criteria, the scholarship could be applied by an American allied veterans descendants. 2.. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if 2.5 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications will receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree.

To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student that is in good standing in the MLS professional program. B. Recipient(s) must have and maintain a 2.5-3.0 GPA in the MLS professional program to receive the scholarship. C. Recipient(s) must be a junior applying for scholarships for their senior year in the MLS professional program. The scholarship for incoming seniors may be awarded to the same student for a maximum of two semesters.

The scholarship has been named the Anna Meyer Endowment Trust Fund established by the officers and trustees of the Anna R. Meyer Charities in honor and in memory of Anna Meyer. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be a resident of Ouachita Parish. B. Donor’s intent is to assist students who have a financial need as evidenced by the Student Aid Report (SAR) received by the university after the FAFSA process is complete each year and who might otherwise be unable to attend college without this scholarship. Students who are eligible for federal educational grants which do not have to be repaid, such as Federal Pell Grants, are not eligible for this scholarship, absent very extenuating circumstances. The Admissions Office shall have the latitude to make such a decision keeping in mind the original intent of this donation. C. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree and must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. D. Scholarship is renewable if a 2.5 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance at the University of Louisiana Monroe, must be admitted to the university, and must be pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Scholarship may be renewed if a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications will receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four-year degree.

This scholarship was established to encourage the study of the German Language by means of financial support to deserving students. 1. Recipient(s) must be studying the German Language. In the event that there are no satisfactory candidates wishing to study the German Language, students pursuing studies in other languages will be considered. 2. Scholarship recipient may continue scholarship if they remain in Foreign Language studies and maintain a B average.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION: A. The recipient must be a full-time Junior, Senior or Graduate Student enrolled in the clinical phase of the bachelor degree programs undergraduate Nursing, undergraduate Medical Laboratory Science, or master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. To maintain the scholarship for a second semester, the awardee must be enrolled full-time towards their degree with a minimum GPA of 3.2 during the last semester of enrollment and remain in the major.

Aspiring Gerontologist Education (AGE) Scholarship was established by family and friends in honor/memory of Mrs. Krishna Sharma. The purpose is to provide scholarships in the form of tuition fee payments for deserving Gerontology graduate students based on merit and need. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. The recipient must be a full-time or part-time : undergraduate student, with Senior classification, officially admitted into the ULM Gerontology Graduate Program in the spring/summer semester of the year he/she will begin their graduate program of study. OR a non-traditional student returning to college after a long gap to enroll in the Gerontology graduate program; OR student who dropped out of graduate school and wants to complete his/her graduate degree in Gerontology. B. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance into the Graduate School at the University of Louisiana Monroe. A university student, to be accepted into the Graduate School at ULM, must have a minimum of 2.6 cumulative GPA in his/her undergraduate degree. C. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.5 GPA is maintained in the Gerontology Graduate Program. The scholarship may be renewed to pay towards the tuition fee for up to a maximum of two years if the student is not able to pay the fee to stay enrolled in the Gerontology Graduate Program. D. The recipient needs to be a US Citizen or a legal US Permanent Resident. E. Preference will be given to: students who may drop out of graduate school due to financial hardships; non-traditional students returning to college after a long gap to enroll in the Gerontology graduate program; and students who dropped out of graduate school and want to complete their graduate degree in Gerontology.

This scholarship was established in memory of Bailey Grant to provide scholarships for students studying Criminal Justice. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in Criminal Justice coursework. 2. Recipient(s) must have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in Criminal Justice course work. 3. Scholarships may be renewable up to three (3) years and may be awarded for regular semesters and summer terms within those three years.

The scholarship has been named the Bill & Marsha Bourn Endowed Pharmacy Superior Graduate Scholarship initiated by Kenneth and Ann Wilson along with other friends and alumni in honor of Dean Bourn’s legacy to the ULM College of Pharmacy. The purpose is to recruit and retain high-quality Pharm.D. students in the College of Pharmacy. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient must meet ULM admittance requirements as defined by the College of Pharmacy admissions committee, must be a holder of a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science degree, and be enrolled as a full time student pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D) within the College of Pharmacy. B. The scholarship award will cover a two-academic-year period (continuous, four semesters) and will be non-renewable. C. Recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.25 each semester.

This scholarship was established by the Northeast Louisiana Contractors Association (A.G.C., Inc.) in memory of Bill A. Gilbert, a prominent north Louisiana contractor. 1. This scholarship was established by family and friends of Billy & Florinell Laird to benefit students in the Teacher Education program. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree and must have been admitted to the Teacher Education Program. 2. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, Music, Communication, Teacher Education, Construction Management, or Nursing. 2. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. This scholarship was established by Bob and Donna Brooks to provide future generations with special opportunities for business success in construction or insurance. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Construction or Insurance. *Exceptions to this are students who are the grandchildren or great-grandchildren of the former faculty members who greatly influenced Bob’s college experience and his life: Dr. Elton Ray Barrett, Botany, and Mr. Will T. Smith, Accounting. These students will be eligible regardless of their field of study. 2. Recipient(s) must have an overall 2.7 GPA or higher and must maintain this GPA level each semester to renew the scholarship. 3. Recipient(s) should have been involved in extracurricular activities in high school, and demonstrate leadership and entrepreneurship skills. 4. The Union Parish Chapter of the University of Louisiana at Monroe will send recommended recipient(s) name(s) to the University of Louisiana at Monroe Scholarship Committee for final selection(s). The name of recipient(s) shall be forwarded to the Scholarship Office as soon as selection in made. (The Union Parish Alumni Chapter is currently dormant and selections will be made by the Scholarship Office until the chapter is restarted by the ULM Alumni Association.)

The scholarship has been named the Brenda McAdams & Steve Finch scholarship. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students in the field of Journalism (Communications). To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) may be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Communications. B. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana Monroe. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA in college courses. C. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 minimum GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only. This scholarship was established by the Calcasieu Pharmaceutical Association to provide scholarships for deserving students. 1. Recipient(s) must be a member of the Academy of Students of Pharmacy. 4. Recipient(s) must be a resident of Imperial Calcasieu, which includes the following parishes: Cameron, Calcasieu, Beauregard, Allen and Jeff Davis. 5. Scholarship is not renewable.

The CAPA-Billy Middleton Memorial Scholarship was established by the Capital Area Pharmacists Association. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students in the College of Pharmacy. 1. Recipient(s) must be a student in good standing at ULM with at least a 2.5 GPA and must have completed 60 semester hours. 2. Recipient(s) must be an Aviation major with at least a Private Pilot Certificate, in pursuit of a Baccalaureate degree in Aviation with additional flight ratings, and expressing an intent to follow a career in Aviation/Aerospace. 3. Scholarship is non-renewable.

The scholarship shall be named the Cardinal Health Scholarship Endowment, originally established as the Owen Healthcare Pharmacy Scholarship by pharmacy graduates employed by Owen Healthcare Pharmacy. The purpose is to provide scholarships for pharmacy students. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student enrolled in the professional pharmacy program. 2. A university student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed for the remaining semesters required to complete the program (maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only). All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete the professional pharmacy program.

The recipient must be a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree in a discipline in the Arts, Humanities, or Sciences. B. The Carol Ann and Glynn Tubbs Intern and Scholarship Endowed Fund was established by Mr. Joseph W. Lyman, III in honor of Carol Ann Tubbs and in memory of Glynn Tubbs. The purpose is to provide support for internships or scholarships for deserving students who are members of the ULM 31 Ambassadors. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student and have completed one year of service as a 31 Ambassador. 2. Established by friends and family of Carolyn Thom Sullivan. 1. Recipient(s) must be a student who has been admitted to the professional program of the School of Nursing. 2. Recipient(s) must have attained a 2.0 GPA and must maintain a 2.0 GPA and remain a student in good standing with the University during the term of the scholarship.

A. Recipient must meet ULM GRE requirements as defined by the Graduate School and be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a graduate degree in Nursing. B. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA. C. The scholarship award will cover a two-academic-year period (continuous, four semesters) and will be non-renewable. D. Recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.25 each semester.

Established in memory of Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Castles, Sr., Professor Ira C. Castles, Jr., Richard D. Castles, and Genieve Castles. 1. Recipient(s) must be high school graduates with outstanding academic records, a minimum 3.0 GPA, a minimum ACT score of 24, and working toward certification to teach in public or private schools as opposed to the Parochial and Missionary teaching professions. 2. Recipient(s) must have good moral character and be patriotic loyal citizens of the United States. 3. Recipient(s) must be willing to work with self-discipline and eagerness to achieve acceptable goals for successful lives, and be of service in the community. 4. If Education majors are not available, the scholarship may be awarded to majors in Accounting.

The Cecil Brown Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established by family and friends in honor and in memory of Cecil Brown. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: 1. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree. 2. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 2.5 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree. 4. Preference will be given to students from Franklin Parish. If there are no applicants from Franklin Parish, the donor’s request is that this scholarship shall be made available to all student applicants who are in good standing with the university. After review of applicant(s) by Cecil Brown’s family, the University of Louisiana at Monroe Scholarship Committee shall use its best judgment for initial selection of recipient(s) and their eligibility for renewal of the scholarship award. There shall be no restrictions regarding the student applicant’s classification, major, pursuit of degree, geographics or demographics.

The scholarship shall be called the Cecil Kay Carter, Jr. Scholarship in Construction. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time sophomore or above pursuing their first undergraduate degree in Construction Management. 2. A university student must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a minimum 2.0 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree.

Established in 2003 as an annual scholarship by the alumni and supporters of ULM to provide scholarships for deserving students attending ULM from the CENLA Alumni Chapter area. 1. Preference shall be given to first and second semester freshmen. 2. Recipient(s) shall have attained at least a 3.0 GPA in high school and must have a score of 21 or higher on the ACT Test; for a student currently enrolled in ULM, the student must have at least a 2.5 GPA and be considered a student in good standing with ULM. 3. Recipient(s) must have graduated from a high school in the CENLA Alumni Chapter area or achieved the equivalent through & home schooling. 4. The recipient’s parent(s) or legal guardian must have a permanent residence in the CENLA Alumni Chapter area on the date application is made for the scholarship and as of the date of approval of the scholarship. (Permanent residence is defined as living in the defined parishes more than fifty percent (50%) of the most recent calendar year. The CENLA Alumni Chapter area is hereby defined as the parishes of Avoyelles, Grant, and Rapides.) 5. Scholarship is not renewable.

The scholarship shall be called the Charles E. DePoe Memorial Scholarship which was established as a memorial by his wife as a tribute for his years of dedicated service to ULM. 1. Recipient(s) shall be an outstanding upperclassmen (Junior or senior) who is pursuing a course of study in Biology. 2. Recipient(s) must have a minimum of 28 hours in Biology courses and a minimum of a 3.4 GPA in those courses, and a GPA of no less than 3.2 in all other courses. 3. Recipient(s) may reapply for a second year of funding and must maintain a 3.4 GPA to qualify.

The scholarship shall be named the Charles H. (Charlie Mac) McDonald – ULM Retirees Scholarship, established by Charlie Mac and retirees of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving children and grandchildren of ULM retirees. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: 1. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree. 2. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship may be renewable if a 2.5 GPA is maintained, but a new application will be required and reviewed annually. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications will receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree. 4. Preference will be given to children or grandchildren of retirees of the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Established from a bequest of James S. Taunton to be awarded only to the ULM School of Nursing students. 1. Recipient(s) may be a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree in Nursing with preference given to, but not limited to, a student(s) who has been accepted into the professional nursing program. 2. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. The scholarship has been named the Cindy and Dennis Rogers Endowed Scholarship in Social Work. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students in the field of study that launched a fulfilling career for Cindy. To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing a degree in Social Work. B. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 minimum GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four-year degree.

Established by family, friends, colleagues, and the Alpha Eta Rho Professional Aviation Fraternity in 1972 in honor and memory of General Claire Lee Chennault. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students. The scholarship, once awarded, is for a full four year period, subject, however, to the following: A. Recipient(s) must be pursuing a degree in Aviation. B. Recipient(s) must maintain at least a 2.5-grade point average each semester. A GPA below 3.0 may be cause for a re-evaluation of the award, depending on the circumstances. C. Recipient(s) must demonstrate merit, capability, physical condition, and aeronautical adaptability commensurate with requirements of the Aviation program. D. Recipient(s) must have appropriate standards of character and responsibility. E. Recipient(s) must be recommended for the program by persons who are familiar with them other than their immediate family.

The Code Blue and the Flatliners Scholarship was established by the Code Blue and the Flatliners Band, family and friends in honor of Code Blue and the Flatliners. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving music students. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: 1. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing a degree in Music. 2. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is not renewable.

NAME AND PURPOSE: The scholarship shall be named the College of Health Sciences Endowed Scholarship for Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) established by alumni and friends of the College of Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving senior students in the MLS program in the College of Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION: To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. The recipient must be a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree in the College of Health Sciences. B. The recipient must be a senior in the MLS program in the College of Health Sciences and have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and a 3.0 GPA in MLS. SELECTION OF RECIPIENT: The MLS Scholarship Committee and the College of Health Sciences Scholarship Committee will send recommended recipient(s) name(s) to the University of Louisiana at Monroe Scholarship Committee for final selection(s). The name of recipient(s) shall be forwarded to the Scholarship Office as soon as selection is complete.

The student must be enrolled in the CompeteLA program. The student must reside in Fraklin Parish. Recipients must meet university standards for acceptance into the University of Louisiana Monroe and have a minimum college GPA of 2.5.

To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient(s) must meet the following: A. The recipient(s) must be from Franklin Parish. B. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana Monroe for either undergraduate or graduate programs. C. COMMUNITY SERVICE. Documentation of recent service hours an applicant has volunteered to the organization(s)* that promote(s) the quality of life for others in Franklin Parish will be a favorable factor used by the Scholarship Committee to grant a scholarship as well as to determine the amount of a scholarship. Please note that services for Franklin Parish organizations will be given greater weight although any recent community service rendered by an applicant will be considered. D. RENEWAL OF SCHOLARSHIPS. A scholarship is not automatically renewable but must be applied for on an annual basis. However, a scholarship may be renewable if a student maintains a 2.5 GPA. 1. Four-Year Program. A scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for incoming freshmen pursuing a four-year degree. 2. Five-Year Program. The Board of Regents has approved for a limited time, a new financial aid framework, the Completers Grant, which is designed to incentivize near-completers in all majors especially to those in high demand fields such as teacher education, healthcare and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) at Louisiana’s public two- and four-year institutions to earn their undergraduate degrees and to incentivize enrollment in and completion of short-term credential programs at two-year institutions. All degree programs are eligible for funding assistance. The Completers Grant will provide grants to students who have completed at least 90 credit hours toward their declared bachelor’s degree, have completed at least 30 credit hours toward their declared associate degree, or who are completing an on-ramp credential and/or credential of value programs as identified by Louisiana Workforce Commission. The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) will administer this grant program which is being funded using one-time Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund dollars which are only available for Fall 2022, Spring 2023 and Summer 2023 terms. To be eligible for the Completers Grant, a student must: Be a Louisiana resident. Meet ULM Satisfactory Academic Progress policy requirements. Complete an online application. Be eligible to receive funds through CARES Act/CRRSA Act/ARP Act. FAFSA is no longer required but may be required if need is questionable. Students must take classes within their degree plan to be considered. Students must be enrolled through the 14th class day at the hours awarded to maintain the amount awarded or keep the amount awarded all together. If the student drops or changes their schedule before the 14th class day, their Completers amount will be cancelled or adjusted. • And meet one of the following: Have completed at least 90 credit hours toward their declared bachelor’s degree program. Have completed at least 30 credit hours toward their declared associate degree program. Be enrolled in an on-ramp credential and/or short-term credential of value program as identified by the Louisiana Workforce Commission. For credit programs – students shall meet the enrolling institution’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy. For non-credit programs – students shall successfully complete course(s) sufficient to continue in their program of study as determined by the institution.

The scholarship shall be named the Corporal J.R. Searcy Memorial Scholarship, established in honor and in memory of J.R. Searcy with proceeds from the Xtreme Battle of the Badges. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving criminal justice students. 1. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. Preference will be given to but not limited to, sophomore classification. 2. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in to the University of Louisiana at Monroe. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 2.0 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only. Established in memory of Courtney A. Cole to provide scholarships for traditional business majors with a preference given to Marketing majors. 1. The recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a business degree in the College of Business & Social Sciences, with preference given to student(s) pursuing a degree in Marketing. 2. A currently enrolled student must have and must maintain an overall 2.5 GPA. 3. Scholarship may be renewable if a 2.5 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree. 4. Student must be a graduate of a Ouachita Parish high School, with preference given to, but not limited to, graduates of Wossman High School in Monroe, Louisiana.

The CVS Caremark Scholarship was established by CVS Caremark Charitable Trust, Inc. to provide scholarships for deserving pharmacy students. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: 1. The recipient(s) must be a full-time student accepted in the professional pharmacy program. 2. A university student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Recipient(s) must be interested in pursuing a career in community pharmacy practice. 4. Recipient should volunteer time with underserved populations. 5. Recipient should be bilingual to qualify for the fund reserved for bilingual recipient(s). (25% of the fund)

To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be a student athlete involved with baseball or football. B. Scholarship may be used as a recruiting tool for baseball or football at the discretion of the ULM Baseball Coach, ULM Football Coach, and the ULM Athletic Director. C. Scholarship is not renewable. The David Baughman, DDS, MD Doctorate of Pharmacy Scholarship Endowment was established by David Baughman, DDS, MD. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving Pharm.D. students. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a Doctorate of Pharmacy. B. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe Pharmacy School. C. Recipient(s) must comply with standards of the ULM Pharmacy School. D. Recipient(s) must be a citizen of the United States at the time of receiving the scholarship. SELECTION OF RECIPIENT: The College of Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences Scholarship Committee will send recommended recipient(s) name(s) to the University of Louisiana at Monroe Scholarship Committee for final selection(s). The name of the recipient(s) shall be forwarded to the Scholarship Office as soon as a selection is made.

The David Wayne Geissler Memorial Scholarship was established by his friends and colleagues as a tribute to David’s memory. A. Recipient(s) must be a Construction major at ULM and have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher. B. Murphy in honor and in memory of his leadership and commitment to the NLU Division of Student Affairs from 1965 to 1992; his tireless dedication to the ULM Water Ski Team, which under his leadership, became the most successful collegiate program in the United States; and his contributions to the National Collegiate Water Ski Association with innovations that afforded opportunities to more student athletes. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full time student participating in collegiate waterskiing. 2. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 2.5 GPA average is maintained. Recipient(s) must maintain adequate progress toward a degree. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree. 4. Recipient(s) must demonstrate the qualities of character and leadership. 5. Recipient(s) must exemplify dedication, teamwork and display outstanding promise or ability in competitive waterskiing.

To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be a full-time American student pursuing a degree in the College of Business and Social Sciences. B. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA in college courses. C. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 minimum GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four-year degree. D. Needs based. The Deborah Cofer First Generation Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship was established through the ULM Foundation. The purpose is to increase college access and success for low-income first-generation students, enhance institutional efforts to provide need-based aid to undergraduate students and provide additional opportunities for benefactors to support the University of Louisiana at Monroe. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: Recipient(s) must be a resident of Louisiana Be a first-generation college student (your parents or guardians never earned a college degree) with financial need after the EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) and grants/scholarships are deducted or be a student, whether first-generation or not, who has been awarded the federal Pell grant and is admitted to the university during the semester(s) that the awards are disbursed. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance at the University of Louisiana Monroe, must be admitted to the university, and must be pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Scholarship may be renewed if a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications will receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four-year degree. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. An incoming freshman must have a 2.25 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. C.Scholarship is renewable if a 2.5 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree.

The Don A. Baxter Scholarship in Construction was established by the Northeast Louisiana Contractors Association, A.G.C., Inc. in honor of Don A. Baxter, a prominent northeast Louisiana building contractor. 1. Recipient(s) must be pursuing a degree in Construction. 2. Recipient(s) must have at least a 2.5 ULM GPA. 3. To renew the scholarship, the recipient(s) must earn at least a 2.5 GPA.

Established in honor of Don Weems to provide scholarships for the members of the University of Louisiana at Monroe 31 Ambassadors. 1. Recipient(s) must be a member of the University of Louisiana at Monroe 31 Ambassadors with at least one full semester of service in the 31 Ambassadors. 2. First semester after selection will not be counted towards fulfilling this requirement. 3. Recipient(s) must remain in good standing with the university and with the 31 Ambassadors.

The award will also be based upon the recipient(s) typifying the qualities of dedication and competence for which the nursing profession has been traditionally and rightly honored, including leadership; professionalism; clinical performance and quality of patient care; and caring and compassion for patients and their families.

The scholarship shall be named the Dr. David Irwin Graduate Student Research Scholarship, established by family and friends in honor of Dr. David Irwin. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving graduate students in Speech-Language Pathology. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following : 1. The recipient must be a full-time graduate student pursuing her/his graduate degree in the Speech-Language Pathology program. 2. Recipient must meet admittance requirements as defined by the ULM Graduate School and be enrolled full-time pursuing a Masters of Arts in Communication. B. Recipient must have a minimum 3.5 GPA. C. The scholarship is renewable for up to four semesters maximum. D. Recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 each semester to renew the scholarship. E. Dr. Joshua L. Comer valued quality research and higher academic writing—therefore a competitive essay is appropriate. Applicants will write a 750—1,000 word letter-of-intent to include the following: a. Introduction of who they are. b. Academic goals, research, and career interests. c. How the funds will be utilized. IV. SELECTION OF RECIPIENT: The ULM Scholarship Office will provide the eligible applicants to the Graduate School for ranking the candidates. The ranked list will be shared with the scholarship chairwoman, Dr. Cheyenne Comer, and her scholarship committee members to review for final ranking. Dr. Cheyenne Comer will submit her recommendations to the ULM Scholarship Office who will make the final scholarship awards.

NAME AND PURPOSE: The scholarship shall be named the Judy Diffley Business Award, established to provide assistance to students enrolled in the College of Business Administration. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION: To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: A. The recipient(s) must be a full time student in the School of Business. B. The recipient(s) must have a 3.0 GPA. Business majors include Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Construction Management, Agribusiness, Aviation, Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Risk Management & Insurance.

Established by friends and family in memory of Dr. Lucy Shackelford who loved teaching and gave so much of herself to the education profession. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student majoring in Kinesiology (Teacher Certification) and have completed a minimum of 36 hours towards his/her degree. 2. Recipient(s) must meet each of the following requirements in order to renew the scholarship each semester: maintain 3.0 semester GPA, maintain 3.0 cumulative GPA, maintain 3.0 cumulative GPA in Kinesiology and complete at least 12 hours each semester. 3. The scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of two years (four semesters) or until a Bachelor’ s Degree in Kinesiology (Teacher Certification) is obtained, whatever period of time is shorter. 4. Recipient(s) must be enrolled during consecutive semesters. 5. Scholarships are not awarded during the summer. 6. Recipient(s) is expected to exemplify the best in good citizenship. 7. The scholarship can only be used for tuition and other related fees including books. No cash refund is allowed.

Established to honor the memory and contributions of Dr. Robert L. Holt who served as a faculty member of the Department of Chemistry from 1961-1992 and as department head 1981-1992. In addition, the award is to recognize and encourage achievement in the School of Sciences. 1. Recipient(s) must be a School of Sciences major and at least a sophomore or higher classification. 2. Recipient(s) must have a 2.5 minimum cumulative GPA and a 3.0 minimum GPA in School of Sciences courses. 3. Recipient(s) must have demonstrated outstanding performance in School of Sciences. 4. The scholarship is a one year award, but previous recipients may reapply and be considered with other applicants. Eligible Majors: Atmospheric Science, Biology, Mathematics

The Dr. Tom Kee Memorial Scholarship in Biology was established by family and friends in honor of Dr. Tom Kee who served as a professor of Biology at Northeast Louisiana University from 1964 to 1992. 1. Recipient(s) must be a graduate student in Biology. 2. Recipient(s) must have a 3.0 GPA to receive the scholarship and must maintain a 3.0 GPA to renew the scholarship. 3. Funds may be awarded for fall, spring, and summer terms. 4. Selection preference may be given to qualified applicant(s) who may not have other support opportunities.

To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student in pre-pharmacy, PharmD, or the PhD program in Pharmacy. B. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. A university student must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA in all pharmacy courses or pre-pharmacy required courses if applying prior to beginning the professional program. C. Recipient(s) must be a child, sibling, or an immediate family member of a Dufilho Society Member, ULM College of Pharmacy alumna or alumnus or ULM alumna or alumnus. D. Recipient(s) must demonstrate history of a family legacy commitment to the ULM College of Pharmacy. E. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters only for an incoming freshman who is enrolled in the pre-pharmacy program. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete the PharmD program, or the PhD program in pharmacy. F. Recipient(s) may only receive one scholarship from the Dufilho Society.

The E. W. and Gladys Brown Memorial Scholarship was established by Mr. Charles E. Brown of Monroe as a tribute to the memory of his parents. 1. Recipient(s) must be a person of integrity and high moral character. 2. Recipient(s) must possess a record of leadership ability. 3. Recipient(s) must be committed to attaining a college degree and making a career in a professional area such as Business, the Health Sciences or the Natural Sciences. The list, though not conclusive, should consist of majors in areas such as Business Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Geosciences, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Laboratory Science, Pre-Medicine, Pre-Dentistry, Construction and others. The essence of this requirement is that the skills attained should have a high marketability for the student upon graduation. 4. Recipient(s) must be an incoming freshman with an overall 3.0 GPA in high school.

Mapp, Sr., family and friends in honor and in memory of Elise and Marcus Mapp. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving geology students. 1. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient must meet the requirements as defined by the ULM Graduate School and be enrolled as a full time student pursuing a graduate degree in Education. B. Recipient must be a Louisiana resident. C. Recipient must have a master’s degree and must be able to work 20 hours per week. B. Recipient must have and maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA. C. The scholarship award will cover a two-academic-year period (continuous) and will be non-renewable.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION: To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient must meet ULM GRE requirements as defined by the Graduate School and be enrolled as a full time student (9 hours) pursuing a graduate degree in Business. B. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA. C. The scholarship award will cover a two-academic-year period (continuous, four semesters) and will be non-renewable. D. Recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.25 each semester.

Emmett Foster Memorial Scholarship was established in 1974 in memory of Emmett Foster, a professor in the College of Pure and Applied Sciences at Northeast Louisiana University. 1. Recipient(s) must be an incoming freshman who has maintained a high school GPA of 3.0 and scored 25 on the ACT. 2. Recipient(s) must be enrolled in the College of Arts, Education & Sciences. 3. The scholarship may be renewed for a period of 4 years or until graduation as long as the student maintains a 3.0 GPA annually. (Student must reapply each year).

Established by the West Monroe Civitan Club in memory of Emmit Curry. 1. Preference will be to an entering freshman, then to other classifications, including graduate level. 2. Recipient(s) must have an overall 2.5 GPA in high school. Recipient(s) must maintain a 2.5 GPA each semester to continue receiving the scholarship. (This scholarship is renewable for a maximum of 4 years or the number of semesters remaining to complete a four year degree.) 3. Preference is extended to students planning to pursue a degree and career in the Health Sciences, with additional consideration for those planning to work with the handicapped. 4. Preference is extended to students graduating from high schools in West Ouachita Parish. 5. Preference is extended to former Junior Civitan Club members. 6. Preference will be given to students who exhibit some financial need. 7. Recipient(s) must be a person of integrity and high moral character.

The scholarship shall be called the Employee Activity Committee Scholarship. 1. Recipient(s) must be a son or daughter of a University of Louisiana at Monroe employee, who has been employed with the university at least (5) years. 2. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree. 3. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 2.75 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 GPA in college courses. 4. Scholarship is renewable of a 2.5 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semester for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree.

Scholarship for undergraduate or graduate students enrolled full-time at the University of Louisiana-Monroe majoring in Voice. Students be involved in vocal performance, music theatre, or music education. Deadlines and award amounts may vary.

The scholarship was established in memory of Miss Biedenharn who devoted her life to music and the fine arts. 1. Recipient(s) must be a voice student pursuing a degree in one of the following curriculums: Vocal Performance, Music Theater or Music Education. 2. To qualify for renewal of the scholarship, an undergraduate must have completed at least 24 hours in two semesters and achieved a 2.5 GPA for the two semesters, and a graduate recipient must have completed 18 semester hours in two semesters with a 3.0 GPA.

The Ernest Duncan and Sophia Stockton Holloway Scholarship was established by Ernest and Sophia Holloway and the purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree and must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. B. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in high school. C. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only. The Fifth District Pharmaceutical Association Scholarship was established by the Association to be awarded to deserving pharmacy students. 1. Recipient(s) must be a professional pharmacy student in the first, second, or third year of the professional program. 2. Recipient(s) must have a 3.2 GPA in the professional program to receive the scholarship. 3. Recipient(s) must be a resident of one of the parishes in Louisiana Fifth Pharmacy District. She was a teacher for 33 years prior to her retirement in 1970. She taught at Wilhite School from 1933-1938, Point School in Union Parish from 1938-1942, Drew School 1945-1946, and Millsaps School from 1947-1970. 1. Recipient(s) must be a Louisiana resident. 2. Recipient(s) must be an Education major and have a commitment to pursuing a career in teaching. 3. Recipient(s) must have completed at least 30 hours of courses and have a 3.0 GPA. 4. The scholarship is renewable for up to 3 years if the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA and remains a full time student.

The endowment shall be called the Francis Davis Hammond Endowed Scholarship in Education. 1. Recipient(s) must have demonstrated superior talent in the pre-education curriculum. 2. Recipient(s) must demonstrate integrity and high moral character.

Established by family and friends in memory of Frances Pryor Baldwin. The purpose of the award shall be to honor the memory and contributions of Frances Pryor Baldwin. In addition, the award is to encourage achievement in the field of School of Sciences. 1. Recipient(s) must be School of Sciences major and at least a junior or higher classification. 2. Recipient(s) must have a 2.5 minimum cumulative gradepoint average and a 3.0 minimum gradepoint average in courses in the School of Sciences. 3. Recipient(s) must be a nursing student in the junior or senior year of the ULM Nursing Program and must have completed Semester II. 2. Recipient(s) must have a cumulative 2.7 GPA to be selected. 3. Recipient(s) must live in the service area of St. Francis Medical Center.

To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student. B. The scholarship award amount will be evenly divided between deserving recipient(s) within the School of Education and the College of Business and Social Sciences. C. Recipient(s) meet ULM admission requirements as defined by their respective programs. D. Recipient(s) must be a citizen of the United States. E. Recipient(s) must be from the state of Louisiana with preference from Ouachita Parish. F. Recipient(s) must meet the minimum 3.0 GPA requirements for each respective program. G. Recipient(s) must maintain minimum 3.0 GPA requirements for each respective program to remain eligible for the scholarship. The ULM Scholarship Office will provide the names of all applicants who meet the criteria listed above to the Scholarship Committees of the School of Education and the College of Business and Social Sciences. The Franky Russell Endowed Memorial Jazz Ensemble Scholarship was established by friends and family in memory of Franky Russell to fund a scholarship for ULM students enrolled in Jazz Ensemble. 1. Recipient(s) must be enrolled in Jazz Ensemble I for the Fall and Spring Semesters, must maintain a minimum 4.0 GPA in Jazz Ensemble and demonstrate excellence in jazz improvisation. 2. The scholarship shall be named the George and Ruth Smith Memorial Humanities Scholarship, established by family and friends in honor and memory of George and Ruth Smith. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: The student(s) must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and be at least a junior with a major in the School of Humanities. Majors include: Communication, English, History, World Languages-French, World Languages-Spanish SELECTION OF RECIPIENT: The ULM Scholarship office will send eligible recipient(s) name(s) to the Director of the School of Humanities. After review, the Director will send recommendations for award to the ULM Scholarship Office who will select the recipient(s).

The George Bacon Memorial Scholarship was established by Mrs. Sylvia Bacon Shepard George Bacon, III, Joe Bacon, and Elizabeth Bacon. 1. Recipient(s) must attend ULM and must be an upperclassman or a graduate student. 2. The scholarship may be renewed for a maximum of eight semesters or until graduation as long as the student maintains satisfactory progress towards graduation (2.5 GPA). 3. The George L. Chip Luffey, Jr. Memorial Scholarship was established in George L. Chip Luffey, Jr.’s memory to provide scholarships for deserving students. 1. Recipient(s) of the award shall be an entering freshman with a high school GPA of 3.0 or above and an ACT score of 27 or above. 2. Recipient(s) must be a Louisiana resident. 3. The award shall be renewable for four years provided the recipient(s) maintains a 3.0 GPA.

The scholarship shall be called the George Cox Memorial Scholarship. This endowment was established by Irma B. Cox. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a degree as follows: Must have completed 60 credit hours as a Biology major with an emphasis in Pre-Dentistry; OR Must have been accepted into the Dental Hygiene Professional Program. 2. Established by the Downtown Monroe Lions Club to honor the memory of fellow Lion George Moses, who exhibited the meaning of Lionism. Mr. Moses was the first businessman to make a donation to the NLU Foundation in 1961. A. Recipient(s) must have successfully completed thirty (30) or more semester hours of collegiate credits with a minimum overall grade point average (GPA) prior to the semester for which the award is made of 3.4 as an undergraduate or 3.2 as a graduate student; B. Recipient(s) must be enrolled full-time as a major in a curriculum which leads to a degree as a Speech, Language, Hearing Specialist; C. Recipient(s) must remain a full-time student in good standing with the University and GPA in order for the scholarship to remain in force for the second term of award. The Gerald & Anne Arrant Scholarship in Insurance was established by Gerald and Anne Arrant. 1. Recipient(s) may be of any classification. 2. Recipient(s) must have been a resident of Louisiana during his/her high school years. 3. Recipient(s) must have attained a 3.0 GPA in high school and must have a score of 21 or higher on the ACT Test. 4. Recipient(s) must be pursuing a degree in Business with an express interest in going into the general insurance business. 5. Established in 1994 from the bequest of Mrs. Gertie Mae Allen Green who died in October 1994, and Mr. Eldrice H. Green. Mrs. Green had a lifelong dedication to education having taught in Union Parish for many years as well as helping others pursue advanced degrees. Recipient(s) must be enrolled in the School Education as a full time student or in a full time equivalency program (i.e. student teaching). 2. The Northeast Louisiana Home Builders Association, Inc. Scholarship Endowment was established in 1988. In 2006, the name changed to the Home Builders Association of Northeast Louisiana Scholarship. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree in Construction. 2. Recipient(s) must be a sophomore or junior at the time of application. 3. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree. B. Donor intent is to assist students who have a financial need as evidenced by the Student Aid Report (SAR) received by the university after the FAFSA process is complete each year and who might otherwise be unable to attend college without this scholarship. Students who are eligible for federal educational grants which do not have to be repaid, such as Federal Pell Grants, are not eligible for this scholarship, absent very extenuating circumstances. The Admissions Office shall have the latitude to make such a decision keeping in mind the original intent of this donation. C. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.75 cumulative GPA in college courses. D. Recipient(s) must have a score of 24 on the ACT or its equivalent. E. Scholarship is renewable if a 2.75 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications will receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree.

The J. Hilton Heard Memorial Scholarship established by the Northeast Louisiana Contractors Association, A.G.C., in memory of J. Hilton Heard, a prominent Northeast Louisiana construction contractor, and the purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students. 1. Recipient(s) may be a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree in Construction. 2. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 2.5 average is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree.

The J. Wayne Medley Endowed Memorial Scholarship was established as a memorial to honor J. Wayne Medley by his family, friends and colleagues. 1. Recipient(s) may be full or part-time students, majoring in the accredited business program areas within the College of Business & Social Sciences, with preference given to those majoring in General Business, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or Finance. 2. Recipient(s) shall have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours, must be in good standing with the University, and must remain in good standing to qualify for renewal of the scholarship up to a maximum of four (4) semesters and two (2) summer sessions. 3. Preference will be given to residents of Ouachita Parish. 4. Preference will be given to applicants whose family members are either realtors or certified appraisers, or applicants referred by the Northeast Louisiana Board of Realtors or the Society of Real Estate Appraisers.

The Ann & Jack Hayes Memorial Scholarship was established by former students of Ouachita Parish High School to honor Ann & Jack Hayes who served as librarian and principal for 41 years. 1. Recipient(s) must be a graduating senior from one of the high schools in Ouachita Parish. 2. Recipient(s) must be pursuing a degree in Education. 3. Recipient(s) must have an ACT score of 22 and a 3.0 GPA in high school. 4. The scholarship is for one year and is not renewable.

To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: Recipient(s) must be a resident of Louisiana Be a first-generation college student (your parents or guardians never earned a college degree) with financial need after the EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) and grants/scholarships are deducted or be a student, whether first-generation or not, who has been awarded the federal Pell grant and is admitted to the university during the semester(s) that the awards are disbursed. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance at the University of Louisiana Monroe, must be admitted to the university, and must be pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Scholarship may be renewed if a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications will receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four-year degree. The J.O. Lancaster, Jr. Memorial Scholarship was established as a memorial to J.O. Lancaster, Jr. who devoted his life to the cause of education in Louisiana. 1. Recipient(s) must be a junior or senior level full-time student. 2. Recipient(s) must have a 3.0 GPA. 3. Recipient(s) must be pursuing a degree in Elementary or Secondary Education. 4. Recipient(s) must maintain a 3.0 GPA to renew the scholarship.

The Jeffery H. Gathings Memorial Scholarship was established by Mrs. Sharon Gathings in memory of her husband, Jeffery, a West Carroll Parish Deputy, who was killed in June 1988 while on duty. 1. Recipient(s) must be a graduate of a West Carroll High School. 2. Recipient(s) must have a 3.0 GPA while in high school. 3. Recipient(s) must maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to renew the scholarship. 4. The scholarship shall be renewable for a maximum of four years.

The Jennifer Frazer Doles Memorial Scholarship in Marriage and Family Counseling Therapy is established to honor the memory of Jennifer Frazer Doles who through her commitment to excellence and love of humanity, dedicated her life and education to serving others. She felt that cohesiveness and strength in the family unit were paramount in the efforts of our society to positively impact the future of our nation. Therefore, it is fitting and proper that her legacy be preserved through this fund which will support and encourage others in this vital field of study. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION: 1. Must be a graduate student enrolled in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. 2. Must demonstrate financial need. 3. Renewable until graduation.

The Jessie G. and Doniel B. Weil Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in honor and in memory of Jessie G. and Doniel B. Weil. The purpose is to provide scholarships to outstanding Ouachita Parish students who have exhibited fine citizenship and academic accomplishments. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student from Ouachita Parish pursuing a bachelor’s degree at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. 2. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. A university student must have a 2.75 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 2.75 cumulative GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of 8 semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications may receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters to complete a four year degree. 4. Recipient(s) must exemplify outstanding leadership qualities through involvement in community and educational organizations.

The scholarship shall be named the Jim and Faye Haddox Endowed Scholarship, established by Jim and Faye Haddox to recognize the importance of higher education. Mr. and Mrs. Haddox are both graduates having earned bachelor degrees from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time junior or senior student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Pre-med/Biology, or Elementary Education. 2. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. A university student must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.3 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of four semesters for a junior only. 4. Recipient must demonstrate a high moral character and integrity. 5. Recipient must be a Louisiana resident.

The Joe Kalil Memorial Scholarship Endowment was established by the Louisiana Municipal Association, family and friends in memory of Joe Kalil, former mayor of Rayville, Louisiana. 1. Recipient(s) must be a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Sociology, Political Science or History. 2. Recipient(s) must be a Louisiana resident. 3. Recipient(s) must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. 4. Scholarship is not renewable.

The scholarship shall be named the John A. and Peter T. Beckish Memorial Scholarship established by family and friends in honor and in memory of twin brothers, John A. and Peter T. Beckish following their untimely death due to an auto accident in Mississippi during Christmas break, 1967. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree in Communication. Preference will be given to, but not limited to, sophomore classification. 2. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 2.5 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree.

The John Andrew Colvin Memorial Scholarship was established by the Colvin family and friends in 1987 in honor and in memory of John Andrew Colvin, a Northeast Louisiana University agriculture student who loved nature and the land, and generously offered his friendship and support to all who knew him. In 2005 the scholarship was also designated in honor and in memory of Donna Martin Robbins, a 1985 graduate of Northeast Louisiana University School of Nursing who compassionately shared her talents, skills, and joy of living with her family, her patients, and her community. Northeast Louisiana University is now renamed ULM. 1. Recipient(s) must be a resident of Franklin Parish, Louisiana. If no one qualifies from Franklin Parish, the scholarship will be given to students who are residents of any other parish in north Louisiana. 2. Recipient(s) must major in Agriculture (Agribusiness) or Nursing, but at least one recipient annually must be pursuing a degree in Agriculture(Agribusiness). 3. If an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a B average in high school. 4. The scholarship is renewable if a cumulative 2.5 GPA is maintained in college courses. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only. The John E. Baugh Memorial Scholarship was established by the Northeast Louisiana Contractors Association, A.G.C., Inc. in memory of John E. Baugh, an engineer involved with the construction industry. 1. Recipient(s) must be pursuing a degree in Construction. 2. Recipient(s) must have at least a 2.5 GPA. 3. To renew the scholarship, the recipient(s) must earn at least a 2.5 GPA.

Scholarship for Layton Farm student employees who are undergraduate (freshmen ineligible) or graduate students enrolled full-time at the University of Louisiana-Monroe. The Johnnette Tollett Memorial Scholarship was established by family and friends in honor and in memory of Johnette Tollett. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students to help defray expenses for student teaching. 1. Recipient(s) must be a may be a full-time or part-time Senior student pursuing a degree in Education. 2. A university student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is not renewable.

To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be a full-time or part-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree at the university. B. Recipient(s) must be an active member of the Kappa Alpha Gamma Nu Chapter who is in good standing with the Fraternity and the University. C. In the event of two equally qualified applicants, additional consideration will be given to an applicant from a single parent home. D. Potential applicants will be interviewed by Cyd Page Jacobs, Joey Jacobs, or a person selected by them. Students must apply through the ULM Scholarship Portal in the month of February. The ULM Foundation Scholarship manager will schedule an interview date with the Kappa Alpha – Cactus Jack Scholarship Committee and email eligible members the mandatory interview event information. Based on the recommendations submitted to the ULM Foundation Scholarship manager by the Kappa Alpha – Cactus Jack Committee, the ULM Scholarship Office will select the final recipients and notify the ULM Kappa Alpha President and the Kappa Alpha – Cactus Jack Scholarship Committee.

The purpose is to provide scholarships each semester to a minimum of two active members of the Kappa Alpha, Gamma Nu Chapter (KA) who are in good standing with the Fraternity and the University. A minimum of $500 in the fall semester will be equally distributed to at least two deserving recipients. A minimum of $500 in the spring semester will be equally distributed to at least two deserving recipients. A. Recipient(s) must be a full-time or part-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree at the university. B. The scholarship shall be named The Kappa Sigma Theta Chi Endowed Scholarship, established by the brothers of Kappa Sigma. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving student members of the Theta Chi of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) may be a full-time student with sophomore standing pursuing a bachelor’s degree. B. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. A university student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in college courses. C. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree. D. Recipient(s) must go to a member in good standing within the Kappa Sigma fraternity. The University of Louisiana at Monroe Scholarship Committee will select the recipient.

The Karen Lynn Ohme Coon Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Karen, who was a 21 year old junior at Northeast Louisiana University when she died of cancer in 1991. She battled the disease much like she lived her life, courageously and with no regrets. Karen loved all people, without regard for race, cultural or ethnic background. She demonstrated kindness in her community without expectation of recognition or reward. When asked to lead, Karen used action rather than words. Karen had an outstanding work ethic and felt accomplishment from a job well done. 1. Recipient(s) must have a 2.75 GPA. 2. Recipient(s) should possess qualities similar to those of Karen. 3. To renew the scholarship, recipient(s) must maintain a 2.75 GPA.

This scholarship was established by family and friends to honor Mr. Bill Eason, a prominent northeast Louisiana businessman who believed in the value of a good education and supported the School of Construction at ULM. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time Construction major. 2. Recipient(s) must have a 2.5 GPA. 3. Recipient(s) must be a sophomore, junior or senior. 4. Scholarship is not renewable.

To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient must meet ULM GRE requirements as defined by the Graduate School, with a minimum Graduate Record Examination (verbal + quantitative) converted score of 750. B. Recipient must be enrolled as a full time student pursuing a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. C. Recipient must have a minimum 3.50 undergraduate GPA. D. The scholarship award will cover a one-academic-year period (continuous, for 12 months) and will be renewable for a second year, based upon satisfactory performance. E. Recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.25 each semester, make significant progress in research, and remain enrolled as a full time student for continued funding. The Major Professor (Research Mentor) will determine student progress and report to the Director for the Marriage and Family Therapy Program by March 1 if progress is not being made. If the Major Professor reports that significant progress has not occurred, the Ken and Mary Parnell Renwick Endowed Superior Graduate Scholarship will be awarded to a new applicant at the beginning of the next academic year. The Graduate School will provide the names of all applicants who meet the criteria listed above to the Scholarship Committee of the College of Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Scholarship Committee will submit recommendations to the University Scholarship Office who will confirm eligibility and determine awards.

The Kinsey Memorial Fund was established by Loucille G. Kinsey in memory of her mother, Delores D. Kinsey, and her brother, Hollis C. Kinsey, II. 1. Undergraduate students must have at least a 2.0 GPA. Graduate students must have at least a 3.0 GPA on all graduate work attempted. 2. Recipient(s) must be pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. 3. Scholarship is renewable for up to three years if a 2.0 GPA (3.0 for graduate students) is maintained.

To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient must have a 3.25 minimum GPA from an accredited 4-year program. B. Recipient must be enrolled full-time. C. The scholarship shall be named the Lottie Mae and C. C. Colvert Scholarship established by a bequest of Dr. & Mrs. Clyde Cornelius Colvert, in honor of his service as president of Ouachita Junior College from August 20, 1931 to October 31, 1944. Under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Colvert and the succeeding presidents, Ouachita Junior College has evolved into a renowned state university and is now renamed the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: 1. Recipient(s) must be a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in the Education. 2. A university student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 GPA average is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum two year period.

This scholarship was established through an estate gift by Dr. Marvin McKneely, who served on the faculty of the ULM English Department from 1954 to 1980. 1. Recipient(s) must have demonstrated academic excellence and interest in the study of language and literature while pursuing a degree in English. 2. For this scholarship, academic excellence is the primary criterion. 3. Recipient(s) must maintain a 3.0 GPA to receive the scholarship for both semesters. 4. Recipient(s) will be selected on the basis of grades, recommendations, and a sample of the student’s writing. 5. Scholarhsip is renewable if 3.0 GPA is maintained in the major field of study. 6. Recipient(s) must demonstrate integrity and high moral character.

The scholarship shall be named the L. Marvin McKneely English Scholarship Award, established by a bequest to honor Dr. Marvin McKneely, who served on the faculty of the Department of English from 1954 to 1980. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving English students. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) may be a full time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree in English. B. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. A university student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in college courses. C. Scholarship is not renewable.

The fund was established by La Quinta Motor Inns, Inc. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student at ULM. 2. Recipient(s) must have a 3.0 GPA, either in college or in high school. 3. Scholarship is for one year only. 4. The scholarship will rotate through all the five colleges of the University, with a recipient being chosen from a different college each year.

Established by family and friends in honor and in memory of Dr. Lake C Oxford, Registrar, Director of Institutional Research, and Asst. VP at NLU from 1960-1981. 1. Recipient(s) must be an incoming freshman pursuing their first undergraduate degree in the ULM School of Education in the College of Arts, Education & Sciences. 2. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in high school. 3. Scholarship is renewable of a 2.75 GPA is maintained 4. Recipient(s) must have graduated from a high school in Ouachita Parish.

The scholarship was established by Rakesh Karn in honor of his parents, Lalita and Janak Karn. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) students at Rakesh Karn’s alma mater might have some of the same opportunities Rakesh provided through his loving parents. 1. The recipient(s) must be a returning or a full-time student classified as a sophomore or above, pursuing their undergraduate or graduate degree. Freshmen and first-year transfers students are not eligible. 2. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the ULM. Recipient(s) must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA in college courses and must maintain the 3.0 GPA to be eligible for renewal funding in the spring semester. 3. Established by family and friends to honor the memory of Lance Michael Thomas and to provide scholarships for deserving students. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student classified as a sophomore or above. 2. Preference will be given to, but not limited to, students attending North Monroe Baptist Church. 3. Recipient(s) must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in college courses.

Established to honor the memory of Mrs. Lanette Southall Fisher who taught in the public school systems of Louisiana from 1934 until her retirement in 1972. For 38 years she exhibited a sincere dedication to the education of young people in Louisiana, therefore, it is fitting that her family has chosen to establish a scholarship which will assist others to pursue the career she loved. 1. Must be at least a sophomore majoring in Education with a preference to those in elementary education. 2. Must be a full-time student at ULM with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. 3. Must exhibit some financial need. 4. Must possess integrity and high moral character.

Preference will be given to recipient(s) first from Northeast Louisiana (Union, Morehouse, West Carroll, East Carroll, Lincoln, Ouachita, Richland, Madison, Jackson, Caldwell, Franklin or Tensas Parish), and second to recipient(s) who are residents of the State of Louisiana. D. Recipient(s) must submit a short essay during the annual application process per the attached instructions until such time as this requirement is removed.

The scholarship award amount will be evenly divided between deserving recipient(s) within the College of Pharmacy and the KDSON. C. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving Richwood High School students To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student. B. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient must meet ULM admittance requirements as defined by the College of Pharmacy admissions committee, must be a holder of a Bachelor’s of Pharmaceutical Science degree, and be enrolled as a full time student pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D) within the College of Pharmacy. B. The scholarship award will cover a two-academic-year period (continuous, four semesters) and will be non-renewable. C. Recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.25 each semester. D. The Lois and John Breaux Public Relations Endowment Scholarship was established by Senator and Mrs. John Breaux. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Communication with preference given to public relations or other related field under Communication. 2. Recipient(s) must be enrolled in an internship program for public relations. 3. Recipient(s) must be have a 2.7 cumulative GPA in college courses with a 3.0 GPA in their area of concentration. 4. Scholarship is for one year only and shall be awarded to coincide with the semester in which the recipient(s) is enrolled in the internship program. 5. Recipient(s) must be a resident of the state of Louisiana.

A. Recipient(s) must be a graduating high school seniors enrolling into the University of Louisiana of Monroe that meet all the criteria for acceptance into University. The student can be a part-time or full-time student. B. Special consideration shall be given for students who (1) are members Kappa Alpha Psi Kappa League; or (2) have overcome obstacles such as socioeconomic or educational disadvantage; or (3) are the first generation in their family to attend college. The Louise Briley Leake Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established from the legacy of Louise Briley Leake who owned and operated a grocery business in West Monroe. Mrs. Leake expressed the desire to assist deserving college students seeking a degree in the College of Business Administration. 1. Recipient(s) must be pursuing their first undergraduate degree in the College of Business & Social Sciences. 2. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 3.0 GPA in high school and a minimum of 23 on the ACT. A university student must have a 3.0 GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 GPA is maintained.

The Louise E. Harris Scholarship was established as a memorial by her friends and family for her years of dedicated service to ULM. 1. Recipient(s) must be an outstanding upperclassman who is pursuing a course of study in preparation for a career in teaching English. 2. Recipient(s) must have demonstrated excellence in rhetoric by successfully completing two of the three courses: Advanced Grammar, Advanced Composition, and Expository Writing. 3. Scholarship is not renewable.

LeBlanc Scholarship in Atmospheric Sciences was established by friends and students of Dr. LeBlanc to honor him for his years of service to the Atmospheric Science Program and his dedication to professional excellence. Established by family and friends in memory of Mrs. Watson who loved teaching and gave so much of herself to the education profession. To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be a student pursuing a degree in one of the foreign language programs offered at ULM; preference to be given to a major in Spanish. B. Recipient(s) must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA in high school as an incoming freshman or in college courses as a higher classification student in college. C. Scholarship is renewable if recipient remains in foreign language studies and a 3.0 minimum GPA. D. Scholarship may be used to support students enrolled in foreign language study abroad courses.

Recipient must meet the requirements as defined by the ULM Graduate School and be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a graduate degree in Gerontology. B. Recipient must be a Louisiana resident. C. Recipient must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. D. The scholarship award will cover a four-academic-year period (continuous) and will be non-renewable. The Mary Davidson Memorial Nursing Scholarship was established by family and friends as a memorial to Mary Davidson. Mary showed her enthusiasm and love of life through unselfishly caring for and helping others. This scholarship recipient should continue enriching the lives of others with dedication and sincere caring. 1. Recipient(s) must be a Nursing major in the professional program who has successfully completed Level I with at least a 3.0 GPA. 2. Recipient(s) must exemplify qualities of caring, unselfishness, high moral character and dedication as exhibited by Mary Davidson. 3. Recipient(s) must be a graduate of a high school in northeast Louisiana with first priority given to Ouachita Parish graduates. 4. Recipient(s) must provide two letters of recommendation from their nursing instructors. Both should be from clinical instructors if the applicant has completed 2 or more levels. 5. If the above (#4) cannot be accomplished: Provide two names of nursing instructors for references who can be contacted by the Selection Committee should they desire to do so.

The Matt Hattaway Scholarship was established by family and friends in honor and in memory of Matt Hattaway. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving construction students from the Caddo/Bossier area. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: 1. Recipient(s) must be an incoming full-time student pursuing a degree in Construction Management. 2. Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of four academic years for an incoming freshman recipient. 4. If a qualified student is available, it is preferred to choose a recipient from the Caddo/Bossier area. 5. The university will arrange an opportunity for the Hattaway/Nichols family to meet the scholarship recipient on an annual basis.

The Mauri Anne Hancock Memorial Nursing Scholarship was established by family and friends as a memorial to Mauri Anne Hancock, a native of Monroe and a seventh generation great-granddaughter of Don Juan Filhiol, the founder of Fort Miro (Monroe). She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a 1980 nursing graduate of Northeast Louisiana University. Mauri Anne’s life was spent aiding others with her dedicated and caring attitude to the profession of nursing. 1. Recipient(s) must be in the professional Nursing Program. 2. Recipient(s) must have a 3.0 GPA, and must maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to renew the scholarship. 3. Recipient(s) must typify the qualities of dedication and competence for which the nursing profession has been traditionally and rightly honored. 4. Recipient(s) must be a graduate of a high school in Ouachita Parish.

This scholarship was established to provide scholarships for deserving students. 1. Preference will be given to residents of Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home. 2. Preference will be given to incoming freshman. 3. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree. 4. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 3.0 GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.75 GPA in college courses. 5. Scholarship is renewable if a 2.75 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications will receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree.

To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: Recipient(s) must be a full-time student and in good standing with the university. Recipient(s) must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA to receive the scholarship. The scholarship may be awarded to the same student for multiple years of his/ her college career, not to exceed four years. The scholarship shall be intended to assist the recipient(s) in paying any college education costs that would otherwise be paid to The University of Louisiana- Monroe by the student. First preference in awarding the scholarship(s) shall be given to a student who is a direct descendant of Clarence Ray Scurlock and Melba G. Scurlock. Should more than one student meet this qualification, the scholarship will be awarded evenly to all students meeting this preference. In the event there are no candidates meeting this preference, the scholarship may be awarded to any student at the University of Louisiana-Monroe who meet all the criteria.

The Michael Brice Memorial Scholarship was established by family and friends as a memorial to Michael Brice, a native of Monroe and 1976 graduate of ULM. Michael was loved deeply by his family and many friends in northeast Louisiana and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Accounting. 2. Recipient(s) must have an overall 3.0 GPA in high school or college. 3. Recipient(s) must maintain a 3.0 GPA in order the renew the scholarship. 4. Priority will be given to Ouachita Parish residents and/or Louisiana residents.

Established by the Mitchiner-Gittinger Family Foundation in memory of Howard Gittinger, Jr. and Nantelle Mitchiner Gittinger. 1. Recipient(s) must be an entering freshman. 2. Recipient(s) must be a graduate of a public or private high school in East Carroll Parish. 3. Each award shall be a one-time award to an entering freshman. 4. Scholarship is not renewable.

The scholarship shall be called the Monroe District Nurses Association Scholarship. 1. Recipient(s) must be in the professional Nursing Program. 2. Recipient(s) must have at least a 2.5 GPA. 3. Recipient(s) must reside in one of the following Northeast Louisiana Parishes: Ouachita, East Carroll, West Carroll, Madison, Richland, Tensas, Franklin, Caldwell, and Morehouse. 4. The value of the scholarship(s) may vary per recipient(s) and be awarded in a semester or summer term. 5. Recipient(s) must typify the image of professional nursing. 6. Preference is to be given to a relative by blood or marriage of members of Monroe District Nurses Association.

Established by the Monroe-West Monroe Business & Professional Women’s Organization for the purpose of providing a scholarship for a worthy young woman. 1. Preference will be given to a female student, aged 25 years or older (non-traditional student) and may be a full-time or part-time student. 2. Recipient must have a 2.5 GPA, and must maintain a 2.5 GPA to renew the scholarship. 3. Recipient must be in good standing with the University. 4. Recipient must be enrolled in a formal degree path program or formal professional certification program.

Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Pharmacy with an interest in chain pharmacy practice after graduation. 2. Recipient(s) must have completed at least thirty semester hours of course work with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and a GPA of at least 2.75 in biology course work C. Financial need will be a factor only when two more applicants are considered academically equivalent. In such cases, the applicant with the greater demonstrated financial need will be favored. D. Scholarship holders may apply for renewals for up to two additional years (assuming funds are available). However, renewal applicants must have maintained a 2.5 cumulative GPA and earned a biology GPA of 3.0 on a minimum of 24 semester hours during the funded academic year. A new application will be required and renewals will compete with first-time applicants. Selection of the recipient(s) will be made by the Scholarship Committee that consists of faculty members of the Department of Biology. If during a given year the applicant pool is weak or interest income is low, the Committee may choose not to award a scholarship. Selections will be submitted to the ULM Scholarship Office.

The scholarship shall be names the Nick Dimos College of Business Scholarship established by family and friends in memory of Nick Dimos. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving students. 1. Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree in the College of Business & Social Sciences. 2. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 2.5 GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. Scholarship is renewable if a 2.5 GPA is maintained. The scholarship will be renewed up to a maximum of seven semesters for an incoming freshman only. All other classifications will receive the scholarship for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree.

Established by the Northeast Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management to provide scholarships for students interested in a career in human resource management or other business field. 1. The recipient may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree majoring in the accredited business program areas in the College of Business & Social Sciences. Preference will be given to management majors. 2. Recipient(s) must be a junior or senior with a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. The scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis. The student must have a 2.5 GPA upon completion of fall semester to receive the scholarship in the spring. 4. Preference shall be given to students who have family members of the Northeast Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management.

The scholarship was established by stockholders and friends to commemorate the positive impact this bank had on the North Louisiana community before it became BancorpSouth on January 15, 2018. The scholarship has been named R. D. Castles Superior Graduate Student Endowed Fellowship. The purpose is to recruit and retain high-quality graduate students in the graduate Marriage and Family Therapy or Counseling programs. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: A. Recipient must meet ULM GRE requirements as defined by the Graduate School and be enrolled as a full time student pursuing a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or Counseling Studies. B. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA. C. The scholarship award will cover a two-academic-year period (continuous, Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters) and will be non-renewable. D. The scholarship shall be named the R.D. Farr Independent Insurance Agents of Ouachita, Inc. Scholarship Endowment, established by the Independent Insurance Agents of Ouachita, Inc in honor and in memory of R.D. Farr who served as treasurer of I.I.A. for 63 years. The purpose is to provide scholarships for deserving insurance students. 1. Recipient(s) may be a full-time or part-time student pursuing a major or minor in Risk Management & Insurance in the College of Business & Social Science. 2. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in high school. A university student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in college courses. 3. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following: The recipient must be a full-time (12 semester hours or the equivalent), third-year or later student pursuing their first undergraduate degree in accounting, their master’s degree in business administration, or their post baccalaureate certificate in accounting (PBAC). Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana at Monroe. A university student must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA in college courses. A recipient may reapply in consecutive years should they meet all other requirements subject to paragraph V of this document.

The scholarship shall be called the St. Francis Medical Center Auxiliary Nursing Scholarship. 1. Recipient(s) must be a Nursing student in the last year of the nursing program (must have completed Level 3) 2. Recipient(s) must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA to be selected, and the scholarship is renewable for a second year with a 2.5 GPA. 3. Recipient(s) must have demonstrated financial need. 4. Student must live in the area served by St. Francis Medical Center.

A. Recipient(s) may be a full time or part time student pursuing a degree in Mathematics. B. The recipient(s) must have completed at least 60 hours in college courses. C. The scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 GPA is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed for the remaining semesters required to complete a four year degree. D. In the event there is no mathematics major who meets the criteria, the scholarship may be awarded to a computer science major with all other criteria remaining the same. The Department of Mathematics & Physics or the Department of Computer Science will send recommended recipient(s) name(s) to the University of Louisiana at Monroe Scholarship Committee for final selection(s). Name of recipient(s) shall be forwarded to the ULM Scholarship Office as soon as selection is made.

The Kitty DeGree Scholarship Endowment was established in 1986 by Kitty DeGree to provide educational scholarships for deserving students. 1. Preference will be given to residents of Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home. 2. An incoming freshman must have a 3.0 GPA in high school and a minimum ACT score of 23. 3. Preference will be given to applicants in the following areas: Business, Education, Health Sciences, Construction, Natural and Physical Sciences. 4. Recipient(s) must maintain a 2.75 GPA to retain the scholarship. 5. Recipient(s) must exhibit good moral character.

To qualify for the scholarship a recipient must meet the following: A. Students must be pursuing an undergraduate degree and meet the minimum requirements for acceptance into the University of Louisiana Monroe. B. Preference is given to a student that is a documented cancer survivor or currently undergoing treatment for cancer. C. Consideration will also be given to a student who has suffered a financial impact due to cancer in their immediately family (Father, Mother, Brother, Sister). D. To qualify for consideration, an essay describing the impact of cancer on the student should be included in the application. E. Scholarship is awarded on an annual basis only, but past recipients are eligible to re-apply. F. Preference is given to a Louisiana resident. Recipients of the Louisiana Cancer Foundation for Research and Education, LLC Scholarship will be recommended by the LCF Board of Directors. The recommendations will be sent to the University Scholarship Committee for final selection. The name of the recipient shall be forwarded to the ULM Scholarship office and the Louisiana Cancer Foundation Executive Director as soon as the selection is made. The selection will be based upon the amount of impact that cancer has had on the individual and the persuasiveness of the essay. Preference will be given to the documented cancer survivor and resident of Louisiana.

To qualify for the scholarship, a recipient must meet the following: A. Recipient(s) must be involved with the Student Government Association and/or a member of the Inter-fraternity Council fraternity or a Panhellenic sorority. B. Recipient(s) must demonstrate leadership ability and be involved in meaningful extra-curricular activities which result in a better university community. C. Recipient must have a 3.0 GPA to qualify for the scholarship and must maintain a 3.0 for renewal. The Student Government Association Advisor will send recommended names to the University of Louisiana Monroe Scholarship Committee for final selection(s).

The Endowment will be used to support the following: A. A scholarship operating fund named the Jennie Clair Carroll Women in Leadership Scholarship. B. The scholarship recipient(s) are awarded through the normal university scholarship selection process. C. Recipient(s) must be a student enrolled at the University of Louisiana Monroe on a half-time basis or more in one of the programs that falls under the David and Sharon Turrentine School of Management. D. Award(s) are reviewed annually but may be awarded to the same student for multiple years of his/her college career as long as a minimum 3.0 GPA is earned while under the scholarship award. However, the maximum length of time over which a student can receive the scholarship is four years. E. Minimum criteria are identified above but preference will be given to students who meet one or more of the following criteria: i. Student is a female from Ouachita Parish. ii. Student has a cumulative 3.0 gpa. iii. Student has financial need as demonstrated through the financial aid process, part-time to full-time employment, lack of other educational financial resources, etc. iv. Student has demonstrated some leadership potential as evidenced by an involvement in some type of community, educational, or social group or organization. The University of Louisiana Monroe Scholarship Committee or its normal scholarship selection process will select the Jennie Clair Carroll Women in Leadership Scholarship recipient.

A. Opportunity scholarships are awarded at the direction of the Director for the William D. Hoover School of Accounting, Financial and Information Services, with approval by the Dean of the College of Business and Social Services B. Opportunity scholarships will be used to selectively recruit, retain and provide educational opportunities (e.g., internship support) to students C. Students must be currently pursuing completion of a degree or certificate in one of the programs under the William D. Hoover School of Accounting, Financial and Information Services at the University of Louisiana Monroe D. These awards may be one semester or one-year awards and are not renewable without a complete reapplication for the scholarship E.
