This scholarship is dedicated to the memory and values of Beth Morris, who passed away in early 2014. Funding from Beth Morris’ Estate will provide up to $3,000 in scholarships for students on the Cycle the Rockies course in 2016. Students on the Cycle the Rockies course will bicycle 700 miles while exploring Montana and studying the ecological, social, and economic issues associated with energy production and use. The Fund will provide scholarships to the University of Montana professional students in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy according to the following guidelines: Montana residents admitted to the professional program in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy. A $1,000 scholarship is to be awarded annually and is renewable.

The Fund shall be used to provide scholarships in the amount of $2,500 for students who have been accepted into the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at The University of Montana. Recipients must be Montana residents who graduated from a Montana high school, with preference given to students from the Augusta, Cut Bank or Kalispell areas. Recipients can receive this scholarship more than once provided they reapply for the award each year.

The Fund will provide scholarships to the University of Montana graduate or undergraduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: Students enrolled in the College of Forestry and Conservation. One student is to receive a $1,000 award each year.

The Robert and Carol Seim Fine Arts Scholarship shall be used to provide one $1,000 scholarship each year for 10 years to a talented and deserving student majoring in one of the disciplines of the School of Fine Arts at The University of Montana.

The University of Montana’s Native American Studies Department is dedicated to promoting high academic achievement among Native American students and assisting them with reaching their educational goals. To uphold this objective, scholarships are awarded each year to undergraduate and graduate students in various University of Montana-Missoula and Missoula College majors. All Native American students admitted to the University of Montana are encourage to complete this application. To be eligible students must plan on enrolling for the next academic year. Students are required to enroll full-time each semester (12 credits for undergraduates and 9 credits for graduate students). Students must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average. The Whitehall Garden Club is again offering a scholarship to any Montana high school or home school graduate attending a Montana institution of higher learning and is a current student with a class rating of 2nd semester sophomore or higher with a major in the Horticulture field. The A. Chemistry Department General Application was created to receive all applications for chemistry department scholarships. Applications are reviewed by the Faculty and students selected to receive a scholarship are then matched with specific donor funds. Chemistry and Biochemistry Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students by selection from the faculty. The General University Scholarship (GUS) Application for Continuing Undergraduate students was established to receive applications for the GUS program, administered by the UM Financial Aid Office. To be eligible, students must submit the General Application Essay on “Why Education is Important”. Students are automatically matched with this scholarship opportunity, and there are no additional questions beyond the General Application. The Deadline for Application is FEBRUARY 15, 2018. The purpose of the Aaron Caplan Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a student in the College of Forestry and Conservation who has financial need. Preference should be given to a student who also has an interest in music.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing who plan to participate in Education Abroad.

The Fund shall be used to provide awards for extended research study in Latin America for students with an interest in Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development as well as public education and outreach for these topics. Priority is given for students in the Resource Conservation program that wish to work in Chile or Argentina; secondary priority is for students of any CFC major wishing to work on these topics anywhere in Latin America. The fellowship is open to undergraduates to do a field-oriented senior thesis project, or for graduate students to enhance their thesis research. The fellowship can be used for travel and per diem expenses for extended study (not to be used to simply attend a short conference or course). The fellowship will fund studies related to 1) conservation biology and sustainable development, and/or 2) conservation education to bring scientific knowledge of this region to the public. Applications that propose to integrate science with educational outreach are especially encouraged.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Department of Forest Management or graduate students with an advisor in the Department of Forest Management according to the following guidelines: Students majoring in forestry who have financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award.

The purpose of the Alexander Dean and Virginia Dixon Dean Scholarship is to provide scholarships for students in the field of dramatic arts.

Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure that applicants for this scholarship include qualified non-traditional female sophomores, juniors or seniors with children, who have a gap in their education and are pursuing their first baccalaureate degree. Preference will be given to applicants who have financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for scholarship eligibility established by the School of Business Administration.

The Fund shall provide one scholarship per year of $1,000 for a member of the Alpha Phi sorority at The University of Montana. Scholarships will be awarded based upon academic merit, with financial need (as determined by the Office of Financial Aid need-analysis) as a secondary requirement.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate or graduate students in the School of Theatre & Dance according to the following guidelines: Applicants must be pursuing an Acting/Directing or Design/Technology degree in the School of Theatre & Dance. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding leadership and strong creative abilities in theatre. Preference will be given to graduates of Tucson High Magnet School in Tucson, Arizona. If more than one Tucson High Magnet School graduate is eligible, the award may be made to a student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who meets the other scholarship criteria.

To provide scholarships to Montana high school graduates in the Davidson Honors College who are majoring in business or economics. Awards shall be based upon merit, not on financial need, and shall be renewable at the dean’s discretion.

The Andrew and Wendy Davidson Scholarship Fund shall be used to provide one scholarship per year of $2,500 to a deserving Montana student in the Davidson Honors College. The recipient shall be selected based on academic merit and shall have financial need, as determined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid need analysis. Preference shall be given to students who are business or health and human performance majors.

The Fund shall be used to provide scholarships for students who are sophomores, juniors or seniors in the College of Forestry and Conservation at the University of Montana. Preference shall be given to students who are studying the following disciplines, in the order listed: 1) Forestry majors with an emphasis in Range Resource Management; 2) Forestry majors with an emphasis in Forest Resource Management; 3) majors in Ecological Restoration. Additionally, preference will be given to students who have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid need-analysis. This scholarship is renewable provided the recipients reapply each year and continue to meet the above criteria.

Students who are studying Anthropology.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana graduate or undergraduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: * Students enrolled in the Forest Management Department of the College of Forestry and Conservation (not including wildlife biology, range management, or environmental studies programs. * Awards are to cover all expenses incurred by students who are involved in forestry field study programs. These expenses include, but are not limited to, tuition, travel, room, board and instruction. * Awards are to be based on the financial need of the student.

To provide one meaningful scholarship each year to a second or third year pharmacy student with a GPA of 2.7-3.5, working a minimum of 24 hours/week, self-supported (not living with parents, relatives or friends that are paying their room and board).

The Art Associates of Missoula Scholarship Fund shall be used to provide one scholarship per year of $1,000 to a deserving student, graduate or undergraduate, who is either an art studio major or an art education major in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at The University of Montana. It is our preference that the award be rotated between the two emphases from year-to-year, but there may be exceptions. Awards will be made based on talent and worthiness. Recipients must agree to attend one of the monthly meetings of the Art Associates of Missoula to make a brief presentation so that the members can learn more about the student and his or her aspirations.

The Research and Creative Scholarship Fund (RCSF) was established to fund student research, creative works, or travel to present/conduct such works. This fund is made available by ASUM (The Associate Students of the University of Montana), the Office of Research and Creative Scholarship, and the Office of the Provost. Students must be enrolled in at least 7 credits and be in good academic standing to apply for funding. Proposals for Winter/Spring will open on October 15 and close on Nov 27, 2019. The project date must occur between January 1, 2020 and June 30, 2020. The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana graduate and undergraduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: A forestry student working towards his/her degree who needs financial assistance to complete the degree. Need is determined by the Office of Financial Aid need analysis. If multiple candidates are identified, preference should go to a student whose long-term career goal includes working in industrial forestry. Renewability: This scholarship is renewable provided the recipients reapply each year and continue to meet the above criteria.

The fund shall be used to provide scholarships for deserving undergraduate students at The University of Montana who are pursuing Wilderness Studies. Students in the Wilderness and Civilization Program (from any major) or students in a wilderness major (if one is established) are eligible. Students must demonstrate academic ability.

The Bernice A. Gleed Scholarship is open to full-time students at the University of Montana, Missoula. You must be enrolled in the pre-medicine program, be a resident of Montana and demonstrate academic merit and financial need to be eligible for this award.

The purpose of the fund is for travel scholarships for undergraduate students presenting papers at western regional or national honors council conferences.

This scholarship shall be awarded to a current 1st or 2nd year student who has provided outstanding service to the profession of Physical Therapy and to the School of Physical Therapy. The quality of service is important, including an optimistic and constructive approach.

Scholarship for Blaine County, Montana residents who are college juniors or seniors enrolled full-time at the University of Montana School of Business Administration. The Fund will provide scholarships to graduate or undergraduate students at the University of Montana according to the following guidelines: Students who are volunteers, employees, conducting research, taking courses or otherwise engaged with the Avian Science Center. Recipients must have been engaged for a minimum of one semester and plan to return in the following academic year. Recipients must have a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

The purpose of the Bill Greenwald Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a forestry student at the University of Montana who is completing his or her sophomore year. Selection will be based on grade point average, class standing, evaluation of two letters of recommendation from faculty and a statement of career goals. All other things being equal, students with an interest in forest management, logging engineering or wood utilization shall be given preference.

This fund is to provide scholarships for students in art, drama, dance, media arts, or music. The recipients can be either in-state or out-of-state students who are studying at the graduate or undergraduate level. Additionally, as the fund grows and all five scholarships are funded, funds may be used to provide for an annual Faculty Opportunity Award.

The Fund will provide scholarships to Bitterroot College UM students according to the following guidelines: Recipients must be full time students (enrolled in at least 12 credits) and be non-traditional students (not right out of high school). Recipients must have at least one dependent under the age of twelve, and must have completed at least 9 credits at the Bitterroot College UM in his/her declared Associate of Applied Science degree program, or in his/her declared pre-Healthcare Professions Associate of Applied Science program with a GPA of at least 2.75 (not including remedial courses). Recipients must have a course completion rate of 70 percent or higher and have an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) of $0.00 (zero dollars) as determined by the UM Office of Financial Aid Need Analysis. The scholarship is renewable, provided funding is available, and shall be awarded to the same student as long as he or she meets the criteria. Recipients may receive the awards for up to five consecutive semesters.

To receive and award gifts designated for Bitterroot College UM scholarships that may not meet the minimum needed to set up separate named scholarship funds. Gifts will be administered in accordance with the UM Foundation disbursement guidelines.

The award provides scholarship support for a forestry student with an interest in fire research.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate or graduate students in the W. A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: Students majoring in Forestry; Ecosystems Science and Restoration; or Resource Conservation are eligible. Preference will be given to students in one of those majors working in areas of collaborative solutions to complex resource problems, active management of timber, wilderness studies and resources, or restoration.

The Bob Kennedy Memorial Award was established at the same time as the Chris Greene Memorial Award. Mr. Kennedy attended UM from 1971 to 1976, graduating with a B.S. in Forestry. He was very active in the Forestry Club and the Foresters’ Ball. He was described as “always ready to pull a practical joke or do something crazy, like help hang the Foresters’ Ball sign from the UM smokestack.” He died while working for the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company in Coos Bay, Oregon. The award is designated for a junior or returning senior in Forest Resources Management and is based on financial need, dedication to the profession of forestry, and strength in timber management.

To provide annual scholarships (Spring Semester) for graduate students in the Master’s of Social Work (MSW) Program at The University of Montana who are Native American. The students should demonstrate energy and ambition and plan to work for the good of Native Americans on the reservation after his/her formal schooling is completed. The scholarship can be renewed provided the students are making good academic progress, as determined by the chair of the School of Social Work, and reapply for this stipend. The recipients each year shall be determined by the chair and faculty representatives of the School of Social Work. If there are no qualified Native American students, the scholarship may be given to otherwise qualified students who plan to work for the good of Native Americans on a reservation after his/her formal schooling is completed. The donor requests an opportunity to meet the recipients each year. Any publicity about this scholarship should exclude the donor’s name, but approval is granted to use the donor’s name in donor lists.

Scholarship for college juniors or seniors enrolled full-time at the University of Montana School of Business Administration majoring in Business or Business Education. Students must have a minimum 2.75 GPA, completed a minimum of 60 credit hours, and be employed during school. Preference given to Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity members. Consideration given to financial need. Number of awards and award amount may vary. An essay must be included with application packet.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana students in the School of Law according to the following guidelines: Recipients are to be deserving law students.

The purpose of this endowment is to provide at least one scholarship each year for a student who is a member of the UM Rodeo Team. The recipient shall be selected on the basis of academic merit and his/her contribution to the well-being of the team.

The Fund will provide scholarships to Students who are University of Montana Rodeo Team members.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Wildlife Biology Program according to the following guidelines: Eligible students will have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Recipients will demonstrate excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and a strong work ethic. Renewability: The recipient may be renewed provided they reapply and continue to meet the scholarship criteria.

The Coffee Club Scholarship is sponsored by Campus Dining. Scholarships are awarded each semester to undergraduate and/or graduate students who have made substantial contributions to addressing social and/or environmental issues in their communities. CAMPUS DINING IS OFFERING THREE (3) $1000 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SPRING SEMESTER 2020 (DEADLINE 12/20/2019) AND AN AMOUNT TO BE DETERMINED IN FALL 2020 AND SPRING 2021. Students cannot be awarded this scholarship in two consecutive semesters. We encourage current awardees to apply the second semester following their current award.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana students in the Davidson Honors College according to the following guidelines: Recipients are to be sophomores in the Davidson Honors College studying business administration, math, the natural sciences, or physical sciences. It is preferred that a serious student who demonstrates a keen desire for success, both academically and career-wise, be selected. In addition, qualified recipients must have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid need analysis. Renewability: A scholarship recipient will be renewed providing the recipient demonstrates good academic progress. It is the donors’ intent that the scholarship is awarded to the same recipient for a minimum of two consecutive years.

The purpose of the Castles Brothers Scholarship is to promote excellence in natural resource management by encouraging scholastic achievement and potential to embark on a career in forestry.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana graduate students in the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science according to the following guidelines: The annual recipient shall be a student in the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science who has demonstrated resiliency under adversity with a positive attitude, compassion, and grace toward self and others. Academic merit is not a consideration for making the award.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate or graduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: Full-time junior, senior or graduate students pursuing a degree from the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation who intend to pursue a career related to the betterment of the environment. Recipients must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award. Priority should be given for students who are underrepresented in the UM student body population or are the first generation in their family to attend college. The scholarship is renewable provided the recipient remains eligible. Applicants are encouraged to submit a short essay of 300 words or less reflecting on Chief Seattle’s words: “This we know: the earth does not belong to man; man belongs to earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself…The earth is precious to him and to harm the earth is to heap contempt on its creator.”

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana graduate or undergraduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation who are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.

The purpose of the Charles L. Tebbe Forestry Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a student completing his or her sophomore year in the Forest Resources Management curriculum (or its successor). The recipient should be pursuing a career in wise natural resource management and will be selected based on grade point average, class standing, letters of reference which address academic and professional potential from two faculty members, and a statement of career goals. Each recipient is to be known as a Tebbe Scholar.

The Charles Levitan Scholarship is open to students at the University of Montana, Missoula. You must be majoring in environmental studies and be studying or doing research at the Flathead Lake Biological Station to be eligible for this award.

The Fund shall be used to provide an annual scholarship for a deserving student at The University of Montana, who is majoring in theatre. The student’s emphasis should be in design/technology or costume design.

The Chris Greene Memorial Award honors a 1975 forestry graduate who met with an untimely accident while working in the woods for International Paper Company in 1976. Mr. Greene attended UM for two years and was active in the Forestry Students Association and the Forestry School. He had an active mind and a good sense of humor, and was an energetic, hard-working student. He was most interested in fire science. The recipient of the award must be active in service to the College of Forestry and Conservation and must have financial need and an interest in fire management.

The purpose of the Chris Lepore Scholarship in Physical Therapy is to provide annual scholarships for second year students with well-rounded abilities within the profession of Physical Therapy. Selection will be made by the PT faculty from applications, based on the following criteria: 1) Demonstrated academic achievement 2) Demonstrated professional commitment 3) Demonstrated clinical capability as indicated by the ACCE 4) Letter of recommendation from anyone, excluding family members, PT faculty, and Sheila Heffernan

The purpose of the Christian Bowers Memorial Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a returning undergraduate student majoring in Wildlife Biology. The student should exhibit financial need and be in good academic standing.

The Fund will provide scholarships to the University of Montana law students in the School of Law according to the following guidelines: Students with financial need, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid need analysis. Preference shall be given to a current or former member of the U.S. Armed Forces who served in an enlisted capacity.

Recipient is to be selected based on merit and his/or her passion for the field of forestry.

B) Recipients must be enrolled full-time on the University of Montana – Missoula campus in a program leading towards completion of a bachelor’s degree. Students enrolled at Missoula College are not eligible. C) Must meet financial need criteria established by the Office of Financial Aid. D) Undergraduate recipients must have accumulated 30 or more semester credits while achieving a GPA of 2.75 or higher. E) Renewal information: Undergraduate award recipients may be renewed for up to two additional years. Undergraduate awards may be renewed for a second year for recipients who completed 30 semester credits and achieved a 3.0 or higher GPA during the first award year. Further, undergraduate awards may be renewed for a third year for recipients who completed 30 semester credits and achieved a 3.25 or higher GPA during the second award year. If due to extenuating circumstances, an undergraduate recipient has not completed the 30 semester credits required for renewal, the scholarship selection committee may, at its discretion, re-award the scholarship. If due to extenuating circumstances, a graduate student has not completed the 9 semester credits required for renewal, the scholarship selection committee may, at its discretion, re-award the scholarship. Additionally, once a graduate or undergraduate recipient has received the award, that individual will not be disqualified for subsequent awards based upon the fact that the minor child or children are no longer residing with the recipient. Barry Memorial Scholarship is to recognize an outstanding senior or graduate student in forestry who has demonstrated exceptional skills in the field as well as the classroom. The purpose of this fund is to fund graduate and/or undergraduate scholarships and supplements to assistantships and readerships for UM students who are majoring in philosophy, English, history, political science, foreign languages, religious studies, environmental studies or law. Recipients must have financial need and shall demonstrate the ability and intention to use their studies to humanize and ennoble their own and others’ life goals to combat competitive, egoistic materialism either in individuals or in political policies that endanger the existence and quality of life. The Flaherty Family Master of Social Work Scholarship will provide scholarships to University of Montana graduate students in the School of Social Work whose values are consistent with the social work profession and who have completed two years of practical experience in social services. Students should maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher. Consideration will be given to students who have demonstrated compassion and empathy for those in need. The Gannett Foundation General Excellence Award provides either a scholarship or a cash award annually to an outstanding student in the School of Journalism. Recipients must demonstrate academic achievement and professional promise, and will be determined by an interview process with a member of the Great Falls Tribune Staff.

The Gannett Foundation Native American Scholarship provides an annual award to a Native American student in the School of Journalism.

The purpose of the Garlington, Lohn & Robinson Law School Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a distinguished law student at The University of Montana.

Distributions from the Fund shall be used to provide scholarships for deserving students in the College of Forestry and Conservation at the University of Montana. The scholarships shall be awarded to a junior entering his or her senior year in Forest Resource Management. Preference is to be given to a student who is interested in pursing a career in the private forest industry, is active in the Forestry Club and/or the Woodsman Team and who exhibits good organizational and leadership skills. Grades are not to be a deciding factor. If there are no juniors that fit the above criteria, the award may be given to a sophomore.

The Fund shall be used to provide scholarships for students in the School of Education at The University of Montana who are members of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Recipients must have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid need-analysis. If no applicants meet the above criteria, then any Kappa Kappa Gamma member who is in good standing may be eligible.

The Geography Department Graduate Teaching Assistantship is open to graduate students at the University of Montana, Department of Geography. Provides scholarships for students majoring in Social Work with an academic minor in gerontology. Preference will be given to students who are graduates of high schools in Missoula, Lake or Flathead Counties. Helen and Dan Kidder Scholars must carry a minimum grade point average of 2.75 in college-level course work to be considered for an initial award. The Helen Ingersoll Cappadocia and Enzio Cappadocia Fellowship is open to graduate students at the University of Montana, Missoula. You must be majoring in European history and demonstrate academic merit to be eligible for this award.

The purpose of the Irene Evers Undergraduate Research Scholarship Endowment is to provide annual awards to students enrolled in the College of Forestry and Conservation at The University of Montana. In 2000, the College of Forestry and Conservation opted to restrict the scholarships to students needing to complete research for papers, theses or dissertations. Students must submit a proposal along with their faculty mentor. Proposals are judged by a committee of faculty and the awards are made to those students with the best proposals.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate or graduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: Preference shall be given to applicants pursuing an undergraduate degree in Resource Conservation or a minor in Fire Sciences & Management, as well as graduate students pursuing a degree in Resource Conservation. Preference shall be given to students demonstrating financial need as determined by the UM Office of Financial Aid or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award.

The Fund shall be used to provide scholarships for talented students who are majoring in any discipline within the College of Visual and Performing Arts (art, dance, theatre, media arts or music) at The University of Montana. Preference shall be given to students whose intent is to teach in one of the fine arts areas.

The purpose of the James and Olive M. Rector Memorial Fund is to provide financial assistance to deserving Montana students. The donors preference is that whenever possible their scholarship be matched with female recipients.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the School of Theatre and Dance according to the following guidelines: Awards shall be made based on merit to students majoring in theatre.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the School of Theatre and Dance according to the following guidelines: Students in the School of Theatre and Dance in good academic standing. Preference shall be given to theatre majors. If there are no eligible applicants majoring in theatre, then a dance major may be selected.

The purpose of the James C. Salinas Memorial Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a senior-level student in wildlife management who has demonstrated superior academic performance and has financial need.

The Jane Rowland Crouch Scholarship fund shall be used to provide scholarships for University of Montana students who are members of Alpha Phi Sorority and in good standing with The University of Montana and Chi Chapter of Alpha Phi. Preference shall be given to students who are graduates of Billings West High School. Financial need does not need to be a primary consideration. The scholarship may be renewed provided the recipient continues to meet the criteria outlined above.

Preference is given to a female graduating senior with outstanding professional potential in broadcast journalism who has demonstrated a strong work ethic, determination and a clear vision of goals in the profession.

A graduate student in elementary school administration; potential as an educational leader.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate or graduate students in the College of Humanities and Sciences according to the following guidelines: Recipients must have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid need analysis. Students will be selected based on a short essay describing how their education will enable them to solve problems that communities face.

Scholarship for college seniors attending the University of Montana who are pursuing a degree in Radio-TV or Broadcast Journalism. Selection is based on academic achievement and promise of professional success. Number of awards and award amount may vary.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: Students in the College of Forestry and Conservation who will have junior or senior class standing in the year they receive the scholarship. Preference will be given to students focusing on forest management or fire science. Recipients must be active in extra-curricular College of Forestry and Conservation activities which may include, but are not limited to Forestry Club, the Foresters’ Ball or Section 13. Student GPA should not be considered in awarding the scholarship. Section 13 participation hours may be substituted for Foresters’ Ball participation hours to be considered active.

The purpose of the John R. Milodragovich Scholarship Endowment is to provide an annual award to a returning sophomore, junior, or senior student enrolled in the College of Forestry and Conservation. Fields of emphasis may include: forestry, silviculture, range management or recreation management. The student should be in good standing with UM and display financial need. In case of a tie during administration of the scholarship, preference shall be given to a veteran of the U.S. Army and then of any other branch of service. The selected student shall be dedicated to promoting and maintaining professionalism in forestry and intend to pursue the applied science of forestry upon graduation.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate or graduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation with financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award. Awards will be based on merit. One meaningful award rather than several smaller awards is preferred.

The purpose of the Kalispell Regional Medical Center Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a pharmacy student at UM.

The purpose of the Kappa Alpha Theta Scholarship is to sponsor scholarships and other activities that will benefit the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. The recipients must be members in good standing of the Alpha Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and enrolled at The University of Montana. Sophomores or juniors are to be given first preference. However, members of other classes may be considered.

The Fund shall be used to provide scholarships for members of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority who are attending The University of Montana.

The Fund will provide scholarships to the University of Montana undergraduate students in the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education and Human Sciences according to the following guidelines: Students in good academic standing who have been admitted to the Teacher Education Program in Elementary Education OR Math, Science, Social Sciences and English and who are scheduled to complete their student teaching in an international setting during the funded year. Eligible student will have experiences with and/or demonstrated interest in other cultures as well as a strong record of volunteer and community engagement in which they have demonstrated perseverance, leadership qualities, and a commitment to social justice. The application requires a CV and an additional one-page essay that describes where the student wants to complete the international placement and the reason for this selection. One reference letter is required from a methods course instructor. Criteria also include Teacher Education faculty judgment regarding the candidate’s potential for success in the international placement and future career.Recipients will also receive microfinance funds to lend to entrepreneurs in less privileged countries through Brio Multimedia’s Learn2Share program.

The purpose of the Kenneth P. Davis Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a student in forest management in the College of Forestry and Conservation. Selection is limited to members of the junior class or graduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation and will be based on scholastic achievement and recommendations regarding leadership and professional responsibility from at least two faculty members in the forest resources management disciplines.

This fund is to be used to provide scholarships for deserving students in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at The University of Montana. In establishing this award, it is the donor’s preference that the scholarship be given to an incoming student from a rural area east of Great Falls who has financial need and whose portfolio demonstrates artistic ability. It is also the donor’s preference that it be awarded to a female student as long as this is not contrary to law. If no student filling these criteria is a suitable candidate, then other applicants studying in the College of Visual and Performing Arts may be considered.

The purpose of the Les Pengelly Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a junior or graduate student in Wildlife Biology who demonstrates outstanding scholastic achievement, a strong land and conservation ethic, and is dedicated to transmitting knowledge concerning wildlife and wild areas to the public. Financial need may be used as a secondary selection criterion.

The purpose of the Lillian Bell Clark Scholarship for Women is to provide an annual award to a student enrolled at The University of Montana who has financial need. The donor would like to be matched with a female whenever possible.

This scholarship shall be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students at the College of Forestry and Conservation based on merit and/or financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award.

The Louis F. Kinney Economics Scholarship is open to senior students at the University of Montana, Missoula. You must be majoring in economics and be a resident of a Montana town with less than 10,000 residents to be eligible for this award.

The Louise Greene-Elizabeth Smith Activist Scholarship is open to junior students at the University of Montana, Missoula. You must be majoring in women's studies and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to qualify for this award.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students majoring in Management or Marketing in the School of Business Administration according to the following guidelines:Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for scholarship eligibility established by the School of Business Administration. Students must qualify for an internship through the School of Business Administration.

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide an annual stipend for an entering freshman woman, who is a graduate of Hamilton High School and has applied for financial aid. Preference shall be given to the student with the best grade point average. While home economics is not a major, preference should be given to a recipient, as described above, who is also a home economics major, should that discipline be reinstituted. This is not a renewable scholarship.

The Marie H. Wallace Scholarship may be used by a scholarship committee as they deem best." It has provided assistance to worthy students reasonably demonstrating financial need but not eligible for federal student assistance.

The purpose of the Marjorie Frost Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a female who has satisfactorily completed her freshman year at The University of Montana and is unable to fully finance the completion of her studies. The scholarship is renewable for the remainder of her studies at UM, as long as she remains worthy and deserving.

Scholarship for college juniors or seniors enrolled full-time at the University of Montana School of Business Administration majoring in Business Administration. Students must have a minimum 2.75 overall GPA and a minimum 3.0 GPA in business courses and completed a minimum of 60 credit hours. Number of awards and award amount may vary. The Mark Levitan Scholarship is open to students at the University of Montana, Missoula. You must be majoring in environmental studies and be studying or doing research at the Flathead Lake Biological Station to be eligible for this award.

Franke College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: Recipients shall be undergraduate students in good standing pursuing a forestry degree in the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation.

The purpose of the Mary Cardell Moore & Robert and Florence Cardell Memorial Scholarship in Drama is to provide scholarships to merit-based students majoring in drama.

The purpose of this fund is to assist any deserving or needy social work major. Preference may be given to an applicant with an interest in women’s issues or service to the developmentally disabled, but applicant interests need not govern the choice exclusively.

The purpose of the Melvin S. Morris Award is to provide an annual award to a student entering his or her junior or senior year in range management at the University of Montana. Selection will be based on conscientious effort and interest, service to the school, extra-curricular activities and need.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Wildlife Biology Program who have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award and who have demonstrated academic ability.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Wildlife Biology Program according to the following guidelines: Students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement. Qualified recipients will have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and must have financial need, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid need analysis.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the School of Journalism according to the following guidelines: Out-of-state students with financial need, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid need analysis. Preference shall be given to students who plan to pursue a career as a working news journalist after graduation. In the interest of promoting the University’s educational interest in attaining a diverse student body, special consideration will be given to students from diverse populations. Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure that applications for this scholarship include highly qualified students from diverse populations.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Department of Health Professions Radiologic Technology Program according to the following guidelines: New or continuing students pursuing a Radiology Technology degree at the Missoula College. Recipients must be residents of or high school graduates of Missoula, Ravalli or Sanders County with a GPA of at least 3.0.

Scholarship for Montana residents who are college juniors or seniors enrolled full-time at the University of Montana School of Business Administration. Students must have a minimum 3.5 CGPA and completed a minimum of 60 credit hours. Number of awards and award amount may vary. An essay must be included with application packet.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Wildlife Biology Program according to the following guidelines: Wildlife Biology students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater. Recipients must demonstrate leadership potential and have junior or senior class standing during the scholarship award year.

The purpose of the Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Mikalson Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a student majoring in forestry. It is preferable that the student also be pursuing a minor in business. It is also preferable that the student have financial need. It is preferred that the recipient be a graduate of: (1) Any high school in Lincoln or Flathead Counties in Montana or (2) Flathead Valley Community College, or (3) Any high school in Stevens, Pend ’Orielle, or Ferry Counties in Washington. If no student is identified from those areas, then any student who is enrolled at the University of Montana who adheres to the other criteria may be considered. The scholarship is renewable provided the student reapplies and is deemed worthy by the dean of the College of Forestry and Conservation.

The purpose of the Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Anderson Scholarship is to provide support for scholarships to students in the Religious Studies area at The University of Montana.

The purpose of the Myrick-Hansen Memorial Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a sophomore-level forestry student with high scholastic standing, whose activities project credit and honor to his or her profession.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana graduate students in the Department of Health and Human Performance according to the following guidelines: Recipient must be accepted in a CAATE (Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education) entry-level master’s program that concludes with a master’s degree and must have a cumulative overall GPA of at least 3.0 for the prior 40 credits of his or her undergraduate courses and all of his or her entry level master’s courses with at least one academic year remaining in the master’s program. Recipient must also be a member of NATA (National Athletic Trainers’ Association) and must have performed with distinction in his or her academic program and institution, athletic training duties/assignments, academic coursework and in community service. Each applicant shall submit the following for consideration: a. an essay describing his or her interest in pursuing the athletic training certification, how he or she plans to use the certification in future endeavors and how the Naseby and Evelyn Rhinehart Athletic Training Scholarship will be of benefit to him or her and/or others; b. Unofficial transcripts of all college and university work c. Two or three letters of reference; d. List of activities, volunteer service, awards and accomplishments.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana graduate or undergraduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: Students who are enrolled in the College of Forestry and Conservation at the University of Montana. Qualified applicants must be pursuing one of the following degrees: (1) Bachelor of Science in Forestry with an emphasis in Forest Resource Management or Range Resource Management; (2) Bachelor of Science in Recreation Resource Management; (3) Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology. Qualified applicants may also be pursuing graduate degrees in the above areas. Scholarships shall be awarded to students who are currently employed and/or have been employed for a minimum of one fire season as a smokejumper, or who have worked or volunteered for the National Smokejumper Association. Additionally, children or grandchildren of smokejumpers who meet the criteria may be selected. Students shall maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and preference will be given to those students who are military veterans or who have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Qualified applicants shall show an interest in forestry school organizations.

Scholarship for non-traditional college juniors or seniors enrolled full-time at the University of Montana School of Business Administration. Students must have a minimum 2.75 GPA, financial need, children, and completed a minimum of 60 credit hours. Number of awards and award amount may vary. An essay must be included with application packet.

The Nellie L. Duff Memorial Scholarship shall be used to provide scholarships for students with financial need at The University of Montana. My preference is to give to those students who are women and are paying their own way through college, unless this limitation shall reasonably be deemed to be contrary to law.

The purpose of the Nora Staael Evert Physical Therapy Professional Achievement Awards is to give two awards annually to third-year physical therapy students, one male and one female, who best exemplify professionalism in and out of the classroom. Award recipients will be selected by the members of their physical therapy classes. Awards will be presented at the physical therapy awards banquet.

The Fund will provide support to University of Montana graduate students in the School of Journalism according to the following guidelines: Incoming students to the graduate program in Environmental Science and Natural Resource Journalism or continuing students in that program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The purpose of the Olive S. Rusty" Jacobs Scholarship for Delta Gamma is to provide scholarships for deserving UM students who are members of Delta Gamma Sorority and are entering their senior year. The recipient(s) must have shown outstanding achievement in citizenship and scholarship.

The purpose of the Pat Norwood Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a graduating senior from Billings Senior High School, male or female, who will be attending The University of Montana. Selection will be based on a combination of academic standing, citizenship, extracurricular activities and financial need.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the School of Music according to the following guidelines: Scholarships will be awarded to UM music majors, who will agree to give free one-hour, or two one-half hour, private music lessons on a weekly basis during fall and spring semesters. Each recipient must be enrolled or have taken a one-credit teaching practicum each semester, during which they will be or have been observed at least once per semester by a UM music faculty member.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the the Wildlife Biology Program according to the following guidelines: 1. Recipient selection: Qualified students are those in the Wildlife Biology Program who have an excellent academic standing with a GPA of 3.2 or higher. Preference is for a non-traditional student who is also a veteran.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana students in the College of Forestry and Conservation and students in the Health and Human Performance Department in the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education and Human Sciences on a rotating year-to-year basis and according to the following guidelines: The scholarship is to be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students based either on academic merit or financial need or both.

Must be gifts to support scholarships.

The Fund shall be used to provide scholarships for graduate students within the College of Forestry and Conservation at the University of Montana. Recipients must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher and shall have an interest in public land management.

The fund will be used to receive and award gifts designated for scholarships to the Pre-Medical Sciences Program that may not meet the minimum needed to set up separate named scholarship funds.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Davidson Honors College according to the following guidelines: Recipient shall be an incoming Davidson Honors College student who exhibits great potential and who has financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award. Academic potential is more important than demonstrated academic merit. The award is renewable for three additional years provided the recipient remains in the Honors College.

The Fund shall be used to provide scholarships for students who are majoring in Parks, Tourism & Recreation Management in the College of Forestry and Conservation at the University of Montana. Recipients must have junior or senior standing and shall have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Additionally, recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA in recreation management courses. Preference shall be given to students who have experience working in the recreation management field through community service, in the private sector, or with other government agencies.

Scholarship for female college juniors enrolled full-time at the University of Montana School of Business Administration. Students must have a minimum 2.75 GPA and completed a minimum of 60 credit hours. Number of awards and award amount may vary. An essay must be included with application packet.

The purpose of the Rhoda Harrington Farris Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a junior-level female student in the College of Business. The recipient must be a full time worthy student.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Wildlife Biology Program according to the following guidelines: Recipients shall be returning juniors or seniors in good academic standing (GPA of at least a 3.0) and with financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award. Preference shall be given to those active in the Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society who are interested in doing field work on mammals.

The Fund shall provide scholarships for juniors, seniors or graduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation at the University of Montana. Awards shall be made based upon academic achievement, community service and leadership abilities. A scholarship selection committee appointed by the Dean of the College of Forestry and Conservation shall determine the amounts of the scholarship awards and the recipients. One meaningful award, rather than several smaller awards, is preferred.

The Richard J. Hansen Scholarship fund shall be used to provide scholarships to Forestry students in the Forest Resources Management program. It is not important that students be at the top of their class, only that they show a strong determination to finish the program and demonstrate financial need.

The purpose of the Robert and Louise Tendeland Betzner Scholarship is to provide annual awards to deserving students at The University of Montana who have demonstrated good academic progress and who have financial need. To the extent it is not contrary to law, it is preferable that the recipients be female.

The purpose of the Robert L. Dennee Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a worthy student in the College of Forestry and Conservation who is enrolled in a program dealing with land conservation and protection. Both undergraduate and graduate students may be considered.

The Robert Levitan Scholarship is open to students at the University of Montana, Missoula. You must be majoring in environmental studies and be studying or doing research at the Flathead Lake Biological Station to be eligible for this award.

The purpose of the Robert S. Morgan Memorial Forestry Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a student enrolled in the College of Forestry and Conservation who demonstrates high academic achievement. The award may be made based on need alone if good progress is being made toward earning a degree in forestry.

The purpose of the Ron Barger Memorial Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a student who exemplifies Ron Barger’s dedication to the profession of forestry. The recipient must demonstrate professionalism and leadership in practical forest management and have junior standing.

The purpose of the Russell M. Gates Memorial Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a junior or senior student working toward a bachelor’s degree in the College of Forestry and Conservation. The recipient must show professionalism and service to the College of Forestry and Conservation and must exemplify Russell Gates’ characteristics.

The purpose of the Russell Nagle Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a freshman or sophomore within the College of Forestry and Conservation at the University of Montana. Selection will be based on the student’s chance for success, professional attitude and need.

The Sam Reynolds Excellence in Editorial Writing Award is awarded annually to a journalism student in the School of Journalism.

The Fund shall be used to provide scholarships for graduate or undergraduate students (must be sophomores or above) at the University of Montana. It is our preference that awards are $500 or more. Fifty percent (50%) of the annual spending distribution shall be awarded to students who are Forestry majors within the College of Forestry and Conservation. Recipients, first and foremost, must be kind and caring individuals. Preference shall then be given to nominees who are active in one or more of the following: the Forestry Club, the Woodsman Team and the Foresters’ Ball. The remaining fifty percent (50%) of the annual spending distribution will be awarded to students enrolled in the Wilderness and Civilization Program. Again, recipients, first and foremost, must be kind and caring individuals. Preference shall then be given to nominees who are passionate about our environment and our wilderness, and have an interest in one or more of the following: primitive skills, back country exploration, and wilderness studies.

The Sara Spero Levitan Scholarship is open to students at the University of Montana, Missoula. You must be majoring in environmental studies and be studying or doing research at the Flathead Lake Biological Station to be eligible for this award.

Students must have a minimum 2.75 overall GPA a minimum 3.0 GPA and completed a minimum of 60 credit hours. Number of awards and award amount may vary. State Index MBU100 – Business Administration Gift Account To provide student aid to the School of Business Administration

The purpose is to receive and award gifts designated for Physical Therapy scholarships that may not meet the minimum needed to set up separate named scholarship fund. Gifts will be administered in accordance with the UM Foundation disbursement guidelines.

The SCIF Sables Brown-Monson Foundation Hunting Heritage Scholarship shall be used to provide at least one undergraduate scholarship per academic year that is awarded in accordance with the following criteria: *Recipient must be a citizen of the United States of America or a permanent resident. *Students attending The University of Montana who are in their junior or senior year and pursuing a course of study leading to a B.A. or B.S. degree in the field of Wildlife Biology. A student awarded the scholarship in their junior year will be awarded the scholarship in their senior year provided all these selection criteria continued to be met. *Recipient must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award. *Preference will be given to students who self-identify in writing they are a hunter. *Recipient must have a 3.0 GPA or better on a scale of 4.0 to be eligible for and/or retain a scholarship award. *Scholarship recipients may be invited to attend the SCI Convention (preferably in their junior year). SCIF will pay 100% of reasonable and necessary travel, food, accommodation, and expenses for such attendance at the SCI Convention. SCIF will not invite recipients to AWLS in lieu of attending the SCI Convention. Such expenses shall not be paid from the Fund. *Recipients may agree to allow the Sables and the BMF to use their names and other relevant information in publications announcing the scholarship in articles for the Sables newsletter, in articles in the SCI Foundation and Safari Club International (hereinafter collectively “SCI”) publications and magazines, and in the local papers and magazines in the area(s) in which the recipient(s) reside and in which Donors make grants. Such articles and announcements will be used to increase the visibility of the Sables, SCI and BMF, to promote fund raising for further additions to the Fund, to promote knowledge of the Fund, and to advertise the availability of this scholarship each year through its newsletter, Sable Chapter Committees, SCI Chapters, SCI Foundation and SCI publications and magazines and local newspapers and magazines in areas where the Donors make grants. *Children of SCI members who meet the above criteria may apply for and receive a scholarship, but shall not be given special preference.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Missoula College Nursing Program according to the following guidelines: Deserving students enrolled in the Missoula College Nursing Program who are in good standing.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Wildlife Biology Program according to the following guidelines: Undergraduate student in the Wildlife Biology Program. Renewability: The recipient may be renewed provided he or she reapplies and continues to meet the scholarship criteria.

The Srock Knee Family MSW Scholarship shall be used to provide scholarships for graduate students in the Master’s of Social Work Program at The University of Montana, who have a strong commitment to the social work profession, who demonstrate financial need and who are pursuing this degree while raising a family. The School of Social Work Scholarship Selection Committee shall determine the amounts of the scholarship awards and the recipients.

The purpose of the St. Patrick Hospital Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a pharmacy student at UM.

The purpose of the Stanley Reinhaus Foundation Scholarships are to provide annual awards to pharmacy students at UM. They must be on track to graduate with their entry class, be licensable, have need, be a resident of Montana, have at least a C+ average, be interested in retail (hospital and drug store) pharmacy and not interested in further degrees.

The Fund shall be used to provide a scholarship for a deserving undergraduate student in the pre-nursing program in the College of Arts and Sciences at The University of Montana in Missoula.

The purpose of the Sue Grebeldinger Scholarship is to provide an annual award to an undergraduate or graduate student with a political science major or minor with preference to one who has a career or scholarly interest in legal studies. However, this is not available to a law student or other professional student. Candidates must submit a strong writing sample with a legal emphasis, carry an excellent grade point average, and be a full-time UM student through the year of the award.

The Fund will provide scholarships to be used for tuition at the Flathead Lake Biological Station (preferred) or for other experiential learning opportunities for University of Montana undergraduate students in the Wildlife Biology Program or a related field according to the following guidelines: Recipients shall be students in the Aquatic Option of the Wildlife Biology Program or related majors/options in the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation (specifically, the Aquatic Option of the Ecosystem Science and Restoration majors) or in the Division of Biological Sciences (Ecology and Organismal Biology, Field Ecology, or Natural History Options of the Biology major) and should demonstrate financial need (as determined by the Financial Aid Office or its equivalent in existences at the time of the award) and strong academic achievement.

The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship for a graduate student in the Masters of Social Work Program. The recipient will be selected by the scholarship committee in the School of Social Work. Further, the committee will determine if one or more scholarships should be given in a year’s time though it is the preference of the donors that a larger, more meaningful scholarship be given rather than several small awards.

The Ted Delaney Fund for Writing Excellence promotes better writing skills among students at the University of Montana, professional people in a variety of disciplines and the public at large. It will fund a graduate student at UM with professional journalism experience who demonstrates excellent writing ability and promise as a teacher. The fund shall also be used to plan and conduct annual lectures and workshops.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana law students according to the following guidelines: Law students, regardless of need or academic merit with an interest in public service.

Communicative Sciences and Disorders undergraduate; junior in good academic standing for use during the senior year; strong record of volunteer and community engagement demonstrating the intention to make a difference in the lives of others.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana juniors, seniors or graduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: A junior, senior or graduate student in the College of Forestry and Conservation who exemplify the traits and ideals of Stacie Ann DeWolf and reflect her interest in proper management and conservation of forest land. The recipient(s) should demonstrate a strong desire to work with and give back to the community.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate or graduate students in the School of Music according to the following guidelines: Students possessing excellent piano abilities who have demonstrated financial need as determined by the UM Office of Financial Aid or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana graduate or undergraduate students in the Wildlife Biology Program according to the following guidelines: Students in the Wildlife Biology Program who are in good academic standing.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Davidson Honors College according to the following guidelines: Outstanding incoming Davidson Honors College students.

The purpose of the Tom Spaulding Memorial Fund is to recognize an outstanding junior or senior forestry student who has demonstrated scholastic achievement and service to the College of Forestry and Conservation.

Scholarship for college juniors or seniors enrolled full-time at the University of Montana School of Business Administration. Students must have a minimum 2.75 GPA and completed a minimum of 60 credit hours. Preference given to Tractor & Equipment Company employees. Number of awards and award amount may vary. An essay must be included with application packet.

Substantial health disparities among American Indian/Alaska Native populations raise a pressing need for American Indian/Alaska Native health care professionals who will serve as leaders in the development and provision of culturally competent care. The InPsych undergraduate scholarship will be awarded to a UM Psychology major with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in Clinical Psychology or related health care disciplines (Social Work, Counseling, etc.) and a career path that serves the health care needs of Native American people.

The purpose of the Campus Dining Student Employee Scholarship is to recognize outstanding student employees. Campus Dining is awarding four (4) $500 scholarships for Fall Semester 2021. These scholarships are awarded to full-time students (12 credits or more for undergraduate students; 9 credits of more for graduate students) who are current Campus Dining student employees at the time the scholarship is awarded. Students may not be awarded scholarships in two consecutive semesters that the scholarships are offered. Campus Dining awards the scholarships during the first week of the semester to which the scholarship is applied (the semester following the application process). To be eligible for the Campus Dining scholarship, the following is REQUIRED in order for applicant to be considered: Student must have worked with Campus Dining a minimum of 120 total hours (up to and including finals week). Personal essay must be provided (500 words or less) Up to 40 points GPA (minimum 2.5 to apply) Up to 40 points Letters of recommendation (minimum of two) Up to 10 points One professional reference and one academic reference required Student employee must be in good standing (attendance, punctuality, availability, willingness to work special events, no disciplinary action on file, etc.) Up to 10 point

The purpose of the Vince Wilson Scholarship is to provide annual awards to students at the end of their first year in the professional Physical Therapy Program. Recipients must possess the following qualities: be service oriented, have high grades and financial need. These qualities are in priority order.

The W.A. Franke Scholarship Fund will provide general scholarship support for students in the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation based on academic merit and financial need, with additional scholarship criteria determined by the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation scholarship committee. Scholarships may be renewable at the discretion of the Dean of the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation provided recipients re-apply each year and continue to meet the selection criteria.

The purpose of the Wade and Olive M. Riechel Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a student who has completed her freshman year at The University of Montana with a grade point average of 3.0 or better. The recipient must be working her way through school, in whole or in part. Whenever possible, the donors request that their scholarship be matched with a female recipient.

The purpose of the Walter N. King Memorial Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a senior English or humanities major at The University of Montana who is an outstanding student.

Students who will be undergraduates in 2016-17 and are enrolled in a degree program in the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education and Human Sciences (Department of Health and Human Performance, Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders, or Curriculum and Instruction students who have been admitted to the Teacher Education Program); minimum 2.5 GPA or meets minimum GPA requirement established by the program of study; familiarity and interest in EdReady Montana are evident in essay (see http://edreadymontana.org/). Provide a letter of reference from advisor, UM Professor, teacher or school administrator.

To provide one scholarship per year of $1,000 to a student who is enrolled in the Davidson Honors College at The University of Montana. Recipients must be graduates of Montana High Schools and be from rural Montana backgrounds. Awards shall be made based upon academic record and a strong and consistent history of volunteerism. This scholarship is not renewable.

The Fund will provide fellowships to University of Montana graduate students in the Wildlife Biology Program according to the following guidelines: Graduate students enrolled in the Wildlife Biology Program. Renewability: The fellowship is renewable beyond the initial award, providing funding is available and the recipient remains eligible based on the selection criteria noted above.

The Fund will provide two annual scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: Each scholarship shall be awarded to a student whose studies and/or anticipated career most closely fit the mission of Trout Unlimited to conserve, protect, and restore North America’s cold water fisheries and their watersheds. One scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate and one scholarship will be awarded to a graduate student in equal amounts. Consideration can also be made to EVST students that qualify. Each undergraduate recipient must be in his or her junior year in the fall of the academic year of the award and each graduate student must have completed one semester in a graduate program by the fall of the academic year of the award. Each applicant must also provide a letter of recommendation from a faculty member. Each scholarship recipient will be required to submit an essay of approximately 500 words by the conclusion of the fall semester. The article will be considered for possible inclusion in the newsletter of the WestSlope Chapter of Trout Unlimited.

To receive and award gifts designated for Wildlife Biology scholarships that may not meet the minimum needed to set up separate named scholarship funds.

Full admission to Educational Leadership M.Ed. with successful completion of six or more credits in the program; concurrently pursuing a Principal’s endorsement; high academic performance; and demonstrated excellence (or potential for excellence) in leadership responsibilities in the public school setting. Application requires a double-spaced, one-page essay describing: why s/he wants to become a principal, what innovations s/he would make as a public school principal, and why s/he would make them. Requires two letters of support – one from a teacher with whom s/he has taught for at least three years, and one from a school administrator.

Scholarship for college seniors enrolled full-time at the University of Montana School of Business Administration. Students must have a minimum 2.75 GPA and completed a minimum of 60 credit hours. Preference given to Cut Bank, Montana residents; second preference given to Augusta, Montana residents; third preference given to all Montana residents. Number of awards and award amount may vary. An essay must be included with application packet.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Division of Biological Sciences according to the following guidelines: Recipients must demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Recipients must also demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award.

The Fund will support: Research projects by graduate or post-graduate level students who are focusing their studies on the Northern Rocky Mountain – Crown of the Continent bioregion. Areas of study include programs focused on Resource Conservation, Systems Ecology and Society and Conservation. Although the funds will be administered through the College of Forestry and Conservation, research support for selected student projects is open to application not only by students in the College of Forestry and Conservation, but also to students in the Division of Biological Sciences (excluding study of human biology and medical technology). Awards will be based on a merit research award application process. However, if two or more research projects have equal merit, then the award should be made to the student applicant who has the most financial need based on the Financial Aid need analysis. Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (B" average) with a good academic record but, above all, should have a clear view of how their project connects to one or more of the fields listed below. Applicants should be motivated by a deep respect for the land that sustains us. Studies should include: Enhancing our knowledge of native species and their connections and dependencies (in particular, endangered, threatened or potentially threatened species, or, inversely, invasives and their control). Understanding, protecting, restoring and/or expanding wilderness (examples from Bud Moore’s work, including the proposed Great Burn Wilderness area, the proposed Swan Front addition to the Bob Marshall Wilderness area, Monture Creek, etc. These examples can be found in the William R. Moore Collection at the Mansfield Library Archives.) Assessing the values of wilderness, wildness and naturalness Forest ecology, soils and watershed Connectivity and scale (from landscapes to micro-habitats) – all things are inter-related Wildness and spirituality – protect and sustain the spirit of place Place-based preservation – working toward concrete results with the local community Holistic sustainability of our natural lands (not just individual resources but the place as a whole) Systems Ecology – maintaining ecological integrity (sustaining and protecting natural processes) “Eco-cruising” and Eco-system Management (in particular with a focus on small private forest owners) Environmental ethics Carbon storage and climate change Interdisciplinary studies for a sustainable future (for example: education and environmental conservation, the economics of natural values, energy conservation and natural resources, outreach and communication on ecology and the environment…) History of forestry and natural resources policies.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the College of Business according to the following guidelines: Sophomore, junior or senior students in the College of Business. The scholarship is open to both out-of-state students or Montana residents, however students must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award. Additionally, students must meet the minimum qualifications for scholarship eligibility established by the College of Business. The scholarship may be renewed as long as the recipient continues to meet the above criteria.

The purpose of the Worf Family Memorial Wilderness Scholarship is to provide an annual award to an incoming, current, or former undergraduate student in the Wilderness and Civilization Program whose major is in the College of Forestry and Conservation or majoring in Wilderness Stewardship (if that major is established). It is preferable that the student has financial need. Applicants must submit a one-page essay with their views regarding the public value and importance of the national wilderness preservation system.

The Fund will provide scholarships to full-time University of Montana graduate or undergraduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: The award will go to an undergraduate or graduate student who is focusing their studies in forest ecology. The preference is that this scholarship be awarded to a student who is studying forest ecology and silviculture in larch ecosystems. This is a merit- based award.

The Wyss Scholars Conservation of the American West Scholarship is open to graduate students at the University of Montana, Missoula. You must be majoring in environmental conservation and demonstrate academic merit to be eligible for this award.

The Zane and Betty Smith Scholarship fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the College of Forestry and Conservation according to the following guidelines: Preference shall be given to deserving juniors, seniors or graduate students majoring in Forestry. If there are no eligible juniors, seniors or graduate students majoring in forestry then the award may go to a student majoring in wildlife biology.

The Fund shall be used to provide scholarships for first-year graduate students who are in good standing at the University of Montana. Students do not need to be registered during the summer. Recipients may study any discipline, but must be working on a project that incorporates geographic information system sciences and technologies as a significant part of their thesis research. Projects must have a reasonable chance of completion within 1.5 years or less. Strength of geographic information system sciences and technologies is more important than financial need; however, financial need may be used as a secondary criterion. Graduate program deficiencies are acceptable if progress toward program completion is being made.
