Scholarships at University of New Mexico-Main Campus

The Amigo Scholars Program is open to non-resident incoming freshmen accepted into the University of New Mexico. You must either have a minimum 3.5 GPA and an ACT score of at least 23 (or SAT equivalent 1070), or a minimum 3.0 GPA and at least a 26 on the ACT (or SAT equivalent 1190) to be considered for this award. Additionally, you must be a U.S. citizen.

The Amigo Transfer Scholarship is open to non-resident transfer students accepted into the University of New Mexico. You must have a minimum 3.5 GPA or a minimum 3.25 GPA with at least 30 transferable credit hours to be eligible for this renewable award. You must also be a U.S. citizen.

Scholarship for college juniors attending the University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University, or New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology who are majoring in Engineering. Preference given to a non-scholarship ROTC student. Due date may vary. Nonrenewable.

CERT is a multi-Tribal organization (American Indian Tribes & Canadian Indian nations.) TRIBES is a pre-college program to enhance academic skills and prepare for transition to college life for Indian high school graduates pursuing careers in Energy Resource Development, Engineering, Business, Science and related fields. The 7-week college credit program is currently offered at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Cost of instruction, activities, room & board are paid by TRIBES program. American Indian students must be graduating High School seniors, plan to attend college in the fall, pursue a career in business, engineering, science or related fields. Selections based on school grades, ACT/SAT scores, recommendations, & essay. TRIBES graduates are eligible for CERT scholarships/internships.

Scholarship for undergraduate students attending the University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University, or New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology who are majoring in Engineering. Selection is based on scholastic achievements and financial need. Due date may vary. Nonrenewable.

The Edward Grisso Scholarship is awarded to male students at the University of New Mexico. To be considered for this award you must be a junior who has improved his grades during the sophomore year.

The Filipino - American Scholarship is awarded to full-time students at the University of New Mexico. You must be an active member of the FAANM, be at least one-quarter Filipino and demonstrate financial need to be eligible for this award.

Scholarship for residents of New Mexico who are undergraduate students attending the University of New Mexico and are majoring in Engineering. Selection based on an essay. Preference given to upper level students with a minimum 2.5 PGA and are majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Due date may vary. Nonrenewable.

Scholarship for female undergraduate students (freshmen ineligible) attending the University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University, or New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology who are majoring in Engineering. Selection is based on academic achievements and financial need. Due date may vary. Nonrenewable.

Scholarship for students who matriculated from a New Mexico high school to attend the University of New Mexico and have completed 75 semester hours, with at least 12 semester hours in accounting. Student must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. Number of awards and award amount varies.

Scholarship for undergraduate students attending the University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University, or New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology who are majoring in Engineering, Science or Mathematics. Applicants must be pursuing studies leading to a career in helping challenged individuals or have overcome a personal disability. Due date may vary. Nonrenewable.

Scholarship for residents of New Mexico who are full-time college juniors or seniors attending the University of New Mexico or New Mexico State University and are majoring in Engineering. Selection is based on academic achievements, minimum 3.0 GPA, financial need, extracurricular activites, and student membership at each schools respective engineering society. Due date may vary. Scholarship for graduate students attending the University of New Mexico or New Mexico State University who are majoring in Civil Engineering. Applicants must be nominated by the school faculty. Due date may vary. Nonrenewable.

The Presidential Scholars Program is open to incoming freshmen at the University of New Mexico. You must be a graduate of a New Mexico high school, have a minimum 3.75 GPA and an ACT score of at least 25 (or 1140 SAT), and demonstrate leadership experience with an outstanding extracurricular record to be considered for this award. You must provided a statement of philosophy and purpose to be considered for this award.

The Regents' Scholar Award is open to incoming freshmen accepted into the University of New Mexico. You must be the valedictorian of your high school class, or have an ACT score of at least 31 or 1368 SAT, or have a cumulative sixth semester GPA of 3.9 or higher. National Scholarship recognition, advanced college preparatory work, and extracurricular and leadership activities will also be considered. You must provide a statement of your goals and philosophy and two letters of recommendation.

The Rita G. Sanchez Scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduates at the University of New Mexico. To be considered for this award, you must be a New Mexico resident and demonstrate academic ability and financial need. Preference will be given to Hispanic students.

The Robert Hammond Scholarship is available to students at the University of New Mexico.

The Simon Herztein Scholarship is awarded to full-time sophomores at the University of New Mexico. You must be a resident of Union County, New Mexico, to be eligible for this award.

The Steve Rose Memorial Scholarship is available to juniors and seniors at the University of New Mexico. You must be majoring in mechanical engineering and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to qualify for this award. Preference is given to students studying Biomedicine and/or Applied Computational Engineering.

The T.T. Castonguay Scholarship is available to continuing students at the University of New Mexico. You must be majoring in chemical engineering to qualify for this award.

The UNM Scholars Program is open to incoming freshmen at the University of New Mexico. You must have a minimum 3.3 GPA and have an ACT score of at least 24 (or SAT 1090) to be considered for this award. You must also be a New Mexico high school graduate and a U.S. citizen to qualify.

The Vandyke Software, Inc. Scholarship is available to students at the University of New Mexico. You must be majoring in computer science, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have completed CS 351 to qualify for this award. Preference is given to students with an interest in software engineering.

The Zia Transfer Scholarship is open to minority transfer students accepted into the University of New Mexico. You must have 30 transferable hours with a combined transfer GPA of 3.25 or higher. You must also complete a FAFSA to be eligible for this award.
