Scholarships at Alfred University

The Competition Scholarships are available to full - time freshmen entering Alfred University in the academic areas of business, engineering, mathematics, and English composition. The exams, auditions or essay competitions are held on the Alfred University campus the fall and winter of your senior year of high school. Awards may be renewed annually provided you maintain full- time enrollment, a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and good citizenship.

The Dean's Scholarship is open to entering freshmen at Alfred University. To be eligible for this award, you must have a minimum 3.2 GPA and a minimum 1100 SAT / 24 ACT score.

Scholarship for full-time, incoming freshmen and transfer students accepted to Alfred University in the School of Art and Design. Applicants must have outstanding art portfolios and a minimum 2.75 GPA. Portfolios submitted with admissions application are reviewed for these awards. Due date and number of awards may vary. The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is available to students transferring into Alfred University. You must have an Associate's Degree from a two-year college and be a member of Phi Theta Kappa to be eligible for this award.

Scholarship for residents of Allegany, Broome, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Livingston, Schuyler, Steuben, or Tioga county, New York, who are incoming freshmen accepted to Alfred University. Applicants must rank in the top 10% of their high school class. Selection is based on academic achievement, SAT/ACT scores, extracurricular activities, and good citizenship. Annual award for undergraduate students enrolled at Alfred State College majoring in Engineering Technology. Students must be U.S. citizens. Preference given to Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Design Engineering Technology. An essay must be included with application packet. Renewable.
