The President’s Foundation Scholars Program awards a $2,000 scholarship to graduating seniors from one of the Cumberland County Public High Schools, Cumberland County Private High Schools, or Cumberland County Home School Association. Applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.75. Students must obtain additional application information from the Foundation website or their guidance counselor, recruiter, or advisor. Must be enrolled in 12 credit hours or more.

The North Carolina Chapter of the Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association (AFCEA NC) is pleased to announce the 2015 Janice Suggs Educational Scholarship, which provides merit-based scholarships to qualified students who are pursuing degrees or advanced training in science, technology, engineering and math related fields of study.

This scholarship will be awarded to a Granville County resident who have been accepted into a two-year or four-year allied health program at an accredited school and who intends to pursue a career in the allied health care field. Programs eligible for this scholarship include clinical laboratory sciences, physical therapy, occupational therapy, radiological science, pharmacy, RN, BSN, ADN, LPN, dentistry and related careers, physician assistant, and nurse practitioner.

This scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in the Gunsmithing Program. The recipient must be enrolled in12 credit hours or more. A minimum GPA of 2.50 must be maintained while receiving the scholarship. The award may cover tuition, books, and supplies. Need or Merit Based

The Betty Shackelford Scholarship was made to honor Mrs. Betty Shackelford. She served Fayetteville Technical Community College for over 40 years. This scholarship is for a student in any curriculum program, who is enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Need or Merit Based

This scholarship is awarded to an incoming second-year student in the Paralegal curriculum. Minimum 3.2 GPA. Preference will be given to women returning to school who have children under the age of 18 in the home. Must be enrolled for 12 credit hours or more. Merit Based

This scholarship is available to students in the Dental Hygiene Program at FTCC. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. The recipient must be PELL eligible. Applicants must answer the following two questions: Pick an experience from your own life and explain how it has influenced your development. From a financial standpoint, what impact would this sponsorship have on your educational needs? Which financial needs require supplemental assistance? This award does not cover tuition, but is to be used for books, uniforms, supplies, or testing fees. Merit Based

Students pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse may apply for this scholarship. The award may be received for a maximum of two school years; the award will be applied to tuition, books, and supplies. Scholarship recipients will be required to sign an agreement to work for Cape Fear Valley Health System at a rate of one year commitment for every one school year of scholarship disbursement.

Applicant must be currently attending (at the time of application) a school that offers an auto collision/auto body program and taking auto collision/auto body classes. Applicant must have studied collision repair for at least one full semester prior to applying In addition to the above requirements, high school (secondary) students must be seniors graduating in the spring/summer 2016. Post-secondary students can be any year in school. Scholarship Rules and Regulations (1) All entries completely filled out with all attachments must be submitted online by February 16, 2016. (2) There is a limit of one entry per person. Multiple entries by the same person will cause all entries by that person to become ineligible. (3) The winners will be chosen and notified by mail and/or by phone in April/May 2016. (4) Scholarship funds can only be used for the following: a. Direct educational expenses, such as tuition payment, room and board, and fees for a student taking at least one collision repair course at a post-secondary institution. b. Indirect educational expenses, such as required books, required tools, required safety equipment, and required supplies for a student taking at least one collision repair course at a post-secondary institution. Proof of course requirement will need to be provided. (5) Except where prohibited, the winner’s name and likeness may be used for publicity purposes for this or similar promotions without additional compensation.

For students of Fayetteville Technical Community College who are active duty Army/Navy/National Guard and Army/Navy Reserve Forces and their dependents. Eligibility: Students may apply who meet all of these requirements: •Active duty Army/Navy/National Guard and Army/Navy Reserve Forces and their dependents; •Admitted as a student at Fayetteville Technical Community College, full time or part time. (Returning students must have a grade point average of 2.5 in the previous period to apply.) •Physically present to attend Fayetteville Technical Community College (as the award is not for on-line only students). Priorities: The Scholarship Selection Committee shall select eligible students based on this guidance: •Eligible candidates with the greatest unmet financial need at Fayetteville Technical Community College •Emphasis shall be on eligible candidates with financial need who have been wounded in combat or spouse or dependents of those wounded in combat or those with similar extenuating circumstances. This award is renewable for up to three (3) years as long as the student maintains favorable academic standing at Fayetteville Technical Community College, a minimum grade point average of 2.5 for the previous period and funds are available.

The recipient(s) must be enrolled at FTCC for a minimum of 6 credit hours. The recipient(s) must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Accounting & Finance, Office Finance, Marketing, Associate in Arts, Culinary Arts, General Office Administration, General Business Administration, Operations Management, or Associate in Science. The recipient must be currently employed by Cumberland County Schools in the Child Nutrition Department, a member of the Cumberland County Schools Nutrition Association for at least two years, and demonstrate a commitment to growth in the Child Nutrition field.

A maximum of two scholarships are awarded to graduating Cumberland County Schools seniors with a minimum 2.8 GPA. The students may be enrolled in any FTCC program. Students must be enrolled in 6 credits or more. FTCC selection name should be submitted to CCSATA president by March 15 of each year.

This scholarship is awarded to a student who is enrolled in a health care or business program. First preference will be given to disadvantaged students to gain access to a quality education, pursue their field of interest and complete their educational and career goals. The recipient must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. The recipient must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours. *Need

The awarding process should be conducted by a committee of only Science faculty at FTCC. Merit Based

This scholarship is awarded to students in the Funeral Service Program. The recipient(s) must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. Must be enrolled in 3 credits or more. Award may be used for tuition, books, uniforms, and supplies. Employees of L. Harold Poole Funeral Service will have the first right of refusal. The student must work in NC in Funeral Service for at least one year after graduation. The student must pass all boards in Funeral Service including state and national boards. If all of this criteria are not met by the student receiving the scholarship, the student must reimburse the endowed scholarship for all the money they were awarded. Merit or Need Based

This scholarship is awarded to a student who has completed one year in the Paralegal curriculum. The recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Student must be recommendation and approved by the Paralegal Department, and must be enrolled in 12 credits or more. This scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, insurance, textbooks and instructional supplies, including required uniforms and other specialized items directly related to student’s curriculum. Any unexpended balance may be disbursed to the student. Merit Based

This scholarship is to assist students in the nursing program. Minimum GPA is 3.00.

Recipient must have completed 12 hours at FTCC and speak English as a second language. Student must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference given to students having taken Advanced ESL in the College and Career Readiness Program at FTCC. Must be enrolled in 12 credits or more. Need or Merit Based

Student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours. Student must be enrolling or currently enrolled in the Business program. Student must have a minimum 2.5 GPA Student may be receiving other financial aid. Student must have a special interest in working in Retail. Funds can be used for tuition, books, uniforms, supplies or educational needs. Recipients can apply for and be awarded the scholarship in succeeding years.

Applicants must be the child of one of the following: •Active duty or reserve U.S. Marine •Veteran U.S. Marine who has received an honorable discharge, or who was killed while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps •Active duty or reserve U.S. Navy Corpsman who is serving, or has served, with a U.S. Marine unit •Veteran U.S. Navy Corpsman who served with a U.S. Marine unit and has received an honorable discharge, or was killed while serving in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman attached to a Marine unit Additionally, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria: •GPA of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) •Family adjusted gross income for the 2014 tax year that does not exceed $94,000. Non-taxable allowances are not included in determining adjusted gross income •Planning to attend an accredited undergraduate college or career training school in the upcoming academic year. We verify accreditation through College Navigator. Students attending schools not listed in College Navigator will not be eligible for an award.
