Scholarships at University of Akron Main Campus

The Black Law Students Association Scholarship is open to students at the University of Akron, School of Law. Preference is given to members of the BLSA.

Scholarship for Stark County, Ohio residents who are graduate students enrolled at The University of Akron, College of Nursing-Graduate Anesthesia Program. Students must have financial need and demonstrate academic achievement. Number of awards and award amount may vary. Renewable.

The Donald M. Jenkins Book Scholarship is open to students at the University of Akron, School of Law. You must be a military veteran or be currently enlisted in the U.S. Reserves or National Guard to be eligible for this award.

The Donato F. Cianciola Memorial Scholarship is available to students at the University of Akron. You must be of Italian descent to be eligible for this award.

The Honorable James R. ('65) and Catherine D. Williams Scholarship is open to students at the University of Akron, School of Law. You must be a members of the Black Law Students Association and be an upper division law student to be eligible for this award.

Annual award for graduating high school seniors from Orrville High School planning to attend full-time at the University of Akron/Wayne College pursuing a career in Business. Students must have a minimum 3.25 GPA and be employed part- or full-time. Number of awards may vary. Nonrenewable. Contact the colleges financial aid office or the Foundation for more information and/or application.

The Kristine and Richard Gill Scholarship is available to students at the University of Akron, School of Nursing. You must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and demonstrate financial need to be eligible for this award.

The Lynda Harvey Williams '89 Scholarship is open to students at the University of Akron, School of Law. You must be an evening law student, be a member of the Black Law Student Association, and work at least 20 hours per week to be eligible for this award.

Scholarship for undergraduate students enrolled at the University of Akron-Mary Schiller Myers School of Art. Selection is based on merit. Number of awards and award amount may vary. A FAFSA and a statement of purpose must be included with application packet. Renewable. Contact the university or Scholastic for more information and/or application.

The Michael T. Hayes Scholarship is available to students entering the University of Akron, School of Nursing. You must be a graduate of Akron East High School, have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and a 20 ACT/SAT 950 to be eligible for this award. An essay and two letters of recommendation are required.

The Oscar A. Hunsicker Scholarship is open to students at the University of Akron, School of Law. You must demonstrate financial need, leadership capability, academic achievement, and professionalism to be eligible for this award.

The Presidential Scholarship is available to incoming freshmen at the University of Akron. Recipients are selected from students who are considered for, but do not receive, a Scholarship for Excellence. You must be an Ohio resident, have a minimum 3.5 GPA, rank in the top ten percent of your high school class and have an ACT/SAT score of 28/1230 to qualify for this renewable award.

The Rose and Julius Darsky Scholarship is available to students at the University of Akron. You must be unable to be employed while attending the University of Akron due to a physical disability to be considered for this award.

The Theodore C. and Frances S. Dethloff Scholarship is available to graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Akron. Preference will be given to students majoring in engineering, medicine or law.

The Thomas E. Stocker Memorial Scholarship is open to students at the University of Akron, School of Law. You must be a resident of Stark County, have graduated from Glen Oak High School, and demonstrate academic merit to be eligible for this award.

The William C. Pepple ('82) Scholarship is open to students at the University of Akron, School of Law. You must demonstrate a passion for public sector work to be eligible for this award.

Annual award for female student who is attending the University of Akron, Ohio. Selection is based on senior ranking, academic standing, and financial need. Due date and number of awards varies. Contact the University of Akron Financial Aid office for additional information and/or application.
