Scholarships at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania

The Biology Honors Scholarship is offered to a freshman biology majors at Slippery Rock University. You must rank in the top 20 percent of your high school graduating class, have a combined SAT score of at least 1000, or a composite ACT score of 23 or better to be eligible for this renewable award. You must include three letters of recommendation attesting to your character, potential for academic success, dependability and emotional maturity.

The Blase S. Scarnati Scholarship is open to music majors attending Slippery Rock University. You must be in the marching rockets band to qualify for this award.

The Boccio Family Scholarship is available to second semester sophomore, junior and senior students at Slippery Rock University. You must be majoring in physical education, demonstrate financial need, and have a minimum 3.0 QPA to be eligible for this renewable award. First preference is given to women student athletes.

The Carlton F. Dresden Memorial Scholarship is available to junior and senior students at Slippery Rock University. You must be majoring in chemistry with a biochemistry concentration and have a minimum 2.5 QPA to be eligible for this award.

The Dr. Joanne McKeag Scholarship is available to junior and senior students at Slippery Rock University. You must be majoring in physical education and have a minimum 3.0 QPA to be eligible for this award. First preference is given to women.

The Grace H. "Arky" Vaughan Memorial Scholarship is available to full-time students at Slippery Rock University. You must be majoring in physical education, have a minimum 3.0 QPA, be a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Virginia, and demonstrate a combination of academic ability or appreciation of athletics, academic achievement and financial need to be eligible for this renewable award.

The Gwen J. Elliott Scholarship is available to students attending Slippery Rock University. You must be majoring in criminology and criminal justice and service to community or University to be eligible for this award.

The Linda Yarger Scholarship in Music is available to students at Slippery Rock University. You must be a music major in good academic standing to be eligible for this award.

The Mabel Eichler Vincent Scholarship is available to senior students at Slippery Rock University. You must be majoring in theatre or drama and have a minimum 3.0 QPA (3.2 in your major) to be eligible for this award.

The Sophomore Biology Honors Scholarship is open to biology majors with 25-40 semester hours completed at Slippery Rock University. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and have completed Principles of Biology, and General Botany or General Zoology or Genetics and General Chemistry I and II along with their respective labs to be eligible for the award. The scholarship is automatically awarded to the top two students at the end of their freshman year.

The Terry Steele Jazz Scholarship is available to incoming freshmen who will major in music at Slippery Rock University. You must be specializing in jazz performance to qualify for this award.

The Thomas W. Gaither Scholarship is open to entering freshmen at Slippery Rock University. You must be have a minimum SAT score of 1000 and be in the top quarter of your class to qualify for this award. Preference is given to students interested in becoming a biologist, biology teacher or entering the medical field.
