Scholarships at Washington and Lee University

The David B. Favrot Jr. Honor Scholarship is open to entering freshmen at Washington and Lee University. You must be from the New Orleans region to be eligible for this award.

The DeMott Family Scholarship Fund, established in 2020 with a gift from Howard Raymond DeMott, Jr., is a permanently endowed fund at Washington and Lee University providing scholarship awards to students with financial need as determined by the vice president for Admissions and Financial Aid or his/her designee.

The Edward R. Mitchell Memorial Scholarship is open to entering freshmen at Washington and Lee University. You must plan to pursue a career in engineering, demonstrate financial need, and possess an exemplary academic and extracurricular record to be eligible for this award.

The Florida West Coast Honor Scholarship is open to entering freshmen at Washington and Lee University. You must be from the Tampa, Florida, area to be eligible for this award.

The Gilreath Honor Scholarship is open to entering freshmen at Washington and Lee University. You must possess an exemplary academic and extracurricular record coupled with an interest in chemistry. You must plan to pursue a career in chemistry to be eligible for this award.

The J. Edward Lewis Memorial Honor Scholarship is open to entering freshmen at Washington and Lee University. You must be from West Virginia and demonstrate exemplary academic and extracurricular records to be eligible for this award. Preference is given to residents of Fayette County.

The James Walter Weingart ’60 Scholarship Endowment, established in 2021 by the Estate of James Walter Weingart, is a permanently endowed fund at Washington and Lee University providing scholarship awards as determined by the Vice President for Admissions and Financial Aid or his/her designee.

The Tom Frost-San Antonio Honor Scholarship is open to entering freshmen at Washington and Lee University. You must be from the San Antonio, Texas, region to be eligible for this award.
