Scholarships at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh

Army ROTC at UW Oshkosh offers two, three, and four-year scholarships to qualified students who are motivated to become officers in the United States Army, Army National Guard, or Army Reserve. All Army ROTC scholarships cover full tuition, fees, books (maximum of $1,200 per year), and a cash stipend. The stipend is $300, $350, $400, and $500 per month as a freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior respectively. Applicant must be enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applications for this scholarship are accepted year-round. More information can be found on the Army ROTC webpage.

Students who place first, second, or third in the UW Oshkosh High School Business Model Competition are eligible to receive a scholarship to UW Oshkosh. Available award funding may vary from year to year, but will follow the model below: 1st place: $8,000 scholarship 2nd place: $5,000 scholarship 3rd place: $2,000 scholarship Total available scholarship amount will be divided evenly among all team members, regardless of whether or not each team member qualifies to receive their portion of the scholarship. The award will be paid out over two years. Recipients must enroll at UW Oshkosh for their first year of college, immediately following their senior year of high school. Recipients must maintain full-time enrollment at any of the UW Oshkosh campuses in order to receive the award and must maintain good standing in order to qualify for the second year of the award. Students who do not attend UW Oshkosh will receive a cash prize of no more than $200.

The College of Business Executive MBA Program offers this scholarship to two or more individuals who either directly, or via their employer, successfully recruit a student for the EMBA Program who has not been previously identified as a potential student by the EMBA office staff. A successfully recruited student is one who has made their first tuition payment. The recruiting and recruited student each receive a $5,000 scholarship credit applied to their remaining tuition payments. The award amount will be prorated if the student’s remaining payments total less than $5,000. Combined UWO EMBA scholarships will not exceed the published EMBA total cost per student net of employer & government support. The scholarship will be applied to the recipient’s student account starting with the next tuition payment following selection. The lockstep accelerated nature of the Executive MBA Program, as well as its modular format, may create uneven posting of credits to the student transcript. Students enrolled in the EMBA will be considered to be full-time students regardless of the number of credits posting to their transcript in a given semester.

Applicant must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Business. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and must have completed at least 60 credits. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited.

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be pursuing a BFA in design, must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and must have at least 60 credits completed. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited.

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be majoring in computer science or information systems. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and must have at least 60 credits completed. Applicant must have completed either IS 318 or CS 271 with a grade of C or higher at the time of application. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited.

Scholarship for full-time undergraduate students (freshmen ineligible) attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh who are enrolled in the College of Business. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and completed 75 credit hours. Number of awards may vary. Nonrenewable.

This scholarship was established through a donation by Joan Abel to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be majoring in music (instrumental performance, piano performance, or vocal performance) or theatre (acting emphasis). Applicant must have at least sophomore standing, must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, and must have financial need based on the FAFSA. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited.

This scholarship was established by Nardalyn Johnson ‘06 and other nursing alumni to support nursing students and to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Accelerated Online Bachelors to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Option. Applicant must be a full-time accelerated nursing major. This scholarship is awarded based on students’ Nursing Philosophy assignment; there is no application required. This scholarship was established by the Ackerman family to alternate annually between the College of Education and Human Services and the College of Nursing. Applicant must be a full- or part-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have met Gateway I requirements and must be admitted, or have applied for fall admission, to the Teacher Education Program. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Preference will be given to students who are pursuing a major in upper elementary education. This award will be paid out in Fall 2021.

This scholarship was established by the Ackerman Family to alternate annually between the College of Education and Human Services and the College of Nursing. Applicant must be enrolled full- or part-time as an undergraduate at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Nursing. Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established in 1983 in memory of Adela Pfeiffer Iversen by her son, Lothar. Applicant must be a female finance or accounting major enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have at least junior standing and must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Applicant must be in good standing and be admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Business. This award will be paid out in Fall 2021.

Scholarship for female seniors attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh who are majoring in Accounting or Finance. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Number of awards may vary. Nonrenewable.

Scholarship for sopohomores attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh who are majoring in Medical Technology. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Due date may vary. Nonrenewable.

This scholarship was established by Charlene Barr Chalberg, in honor of her mother, Aileen Wood Barr. Applicant must be currently enrolled full- or part-time or accepted for admission for Summer 2023 or Fall 2023 at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be a registered nurse pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in clinical nursing. Preference will be given to applicants preparing to be nurse practitioners or their equivalent. Applicant must have worked a minimum of three years as a registered nurse and must currently be working in the healthcare field. Selection is based on intellectual merit. Evidence will include academic performance during undergraduate studies and the applicant’s potential for successful completion of graduate studies. New applicants will be given preference in the selection process. However, previous recipients may apply for a second award. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited.

Applicant must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be majoring in a healthcare-related field. Preference will be given to students in the College of Nursing. However, others are encouraged to apply. Applicant must have graduated from any Dodge County, WI high school. Applicant must have an excellent attendance record during high school and must have done volunteer work in the healthcare field. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to students with financial need based on the FAFSA. This award will be paid out in Fall 2023.

This scholarship was established in 2018, in honor of COEHS professor Alfred Kisubi, who made a significant impact on the human services leadership program at UW Oshkosh. Applicant must be a full- or part-time undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be a human services leadership major who intends to graduate in the academic year of application and has plans to pursue a master’s degree in human services leadership. Applicant must have a minimum 3.75 cumulative GPA in their major. Applicant must be active in the Human Services Leadership Student Organization or Tau Upsilon Alpha, must have demonstrated leadership in the community, and must demonstrate a commitment to the human services leadership profession. This award will be paid out in Spring 2023, or Fall 2022 depending on the recipient’s date of graduation.

Applicant must be a full-time elementary education (PK-3) major enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be admitted, or have applied for fall admission, to the Teacher Education Program. The applicant’s GPA will be considered, but will not be the determining factor for the award. This award will be paid out in Fall 2023.

Applicant must be an undergraduate student enrolled as a finance major at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be in good standing and have been admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Business. Applicant must have at least junior standing and must have completed at least six credit hours of finance coursework, not including Bus 331. Applicant must demonstrate a high level of academic achievement in finance and related business courses and leadership skills in student organizations or other extracurricular activities (excluding athletics). This award will be paid out in Spring 2022.

This scholarship was established in memory of Allen K. Butcher, UW Oshkosh music faculty member from 1971 to 1995. Applicant must be an incoming freshman admitted to the Oshkosh campus for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Applicant must plan to pursue a degree in instrumental music education. Applicant’s primary instrument must be wind or percussion. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative high school GPA. The primary criteria for selection are outstanding academic and musical achievement and potential for growth, as demonstrated through a scholarship audition. Applicant must enroll full-time for Fall 2022 in order to receive the award payout.

Scholarship for graduating high school seniors of a Winnebago County high school planning to attend the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Students must pursue a Teaching degree. Selection is based on financial need and scholastic ability. Number of awards and award amount may vary. Renewable.

This scholarship is funded by donations from College of Nursing alumni who want to help the next generation of nurses achieve their dream of becoming a nurse. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have been admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Nursing and must be pursuing a BSN degree. Applicant must demonstrate financial need based on the FAFSA; academic excellence as shown through GPA; and a commitment to UW Oshkosh, as shown through campus involvement. Applicant must be willing to have their name and photo used for publicity purposes. This award will be paid out in Fall 2023.

This award was established by Marlene Andrews and her family. The award is given to an undergraduate special education major at the Oshkosh campus who is an active participant in the Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC) and has demonstrated outstanding service to both SCEC and the Special Education Department. Preference will be given to the president of the SCEC. Additional experience working with special needs children will be considered. No application is required for this award. This award is named in honor of Professor Andy Robson, whose efforts were central to UW Oshkosh becoming a national leader in supporting the Earth Charter. This award is given to a student who has engaged in sustained activism that embodies the principles of the Earth Charter: respect and care for the community of life, ecological integrity, social and economic justice, democracy and peace. This scholarship was established in 2021 by the Arend Family to recognize and give back for the excellent education they received from the UW Oshkosh College of Business. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Business and must have a declared accounting major. Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and must be a current or past executive board member of the Accounting Club. Financial need is not a consideration. This award will be paid out in Fall 2023.

This scholarship was established by the Arnold Peterson Chalberg and Charlene Barr Chalberg. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be in good standing and must have been admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Business. Applicant must be majoring in finance and must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Applicant must demonstrate participation in extra-curricular activities. This award will be paid out in Fall 2023.

This scholarship is given to an undergraduate student enrolled in at least six credits at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be participating in a study abroad program sponsored by the UW Oshkosh Art Department. Applicant must have an art major or minor and have a minimum combined grade-point average of at least 2.5. Applicant must have at least sophomore standing by the time the award is disbursed.

Scholarship for sophomores, juniors or seniors attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh who desire to study abroard and are majoring in History or International Studies. Applicants must have completed at least 15 credit hour in major and have 3.0 CGPA and 3.0 GPA in major. Due may vary. Nonrenewable.

This scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate students majoring in history or international studies at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be participating in a UW Oshkosh-sponsored study abroad program taking place in 2023. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (both overall and in their major) and must have completed at least 15 credits in their major. This award will be paid out against the recipient’s study abroad program fee.

This award was established by Ascension to encourage and recognize a student who has demonstrated excellence in the area of athletic training. The award is given to a graduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus who is in the second year of the athletic training master’s degree program. No application is required for this award. It is awarded to the student with the highest cumulative GPA at the conclusion of the fall semester preceding the announcement of the award. This award will be paid out in Spring 2023.

This scholarship was established by the Ascension Mercy Hospital Volunteers Organization to financially support students in the UW Oshkosh nursing program and to promote the advancement of nursing care in our community. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate admitted to the traditional BSN program at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have completed one semester of the clinical major (must be Junior I or Junior II when applying). Applicant must show academic achievement and must demonstrate financial need based on the FAFSA. Preference will be given to a student who is or has been a volunteer at Ascension Mercy Hospital. However, other students are encouraged to apply. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

Applicant must be a full- or part-time graduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus in one of the following nursing programs: Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator or Clinical Nurse Leader emphasis or Doctor of Nursing Practice. Applicant must have a GPA greater than 3.5 and must have candidacy approval (9+ graduate credits). Applicant must agree to work in the state of Wisconsin for at least one full year post-graduation. Preference will be given to applicants whose post-graduation goals are congruent with promoting affordable, accessible healthcare. This award will be paid out in Fall 2023.

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate majoring in accounting at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have at least junior standing. Applicant must be in good standing and be admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Business. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and must possess outstanding qualities of character, scholastic ability, and leadership. This award will be paid out in Fall 2021.

This award is presented to a junior history major enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. No application is required; selection is based upon high grade-point average. This award will be paid out in Spring 2023.

This award was established by William P. Bartlett. It is awarded to a geology major enrolled at the Oshkosh campus who has completed their second-year geology courses. Recipient must have at least 18 credits in geology completed, including at least two credits of field trip courses by the end of the academic year. Recipient must demonstrate a commitment to the study of geology and must have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA and financial need. No application is required for this award. This scholarship was established by Phillip D. Lampert ’58, in memory of his wife, Beatrice Barlow Lampert ’54. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have been admitted, or have applied for fall admission, to the Teacher Education Program. Applicant must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need based on the FAFSA. Preference will be given to students who are studying social science education or elementary education with a social science minor. However, other applicants will be considered. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established by Beatrice Rake. Applicant must be an undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have been admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Nursing and must be admitted to the traditional BSN program. Forrest and Bernice Derickson’s children established this scholarship in recognition of the commitment to learning demonstrated by their parents. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have been admitted, or have applied for fall admission, to the Teacher Education Program. Preference will be given to students pursuing a degree in elementary education. Applicant must be either over the age of 30 or must be a student who has returned to school after an absence of more than 10 years. Preference will be given to those applicants who have financial need based on the FAFSA. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

Scholarship for juniors, seniors or graduate students attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh who are majoring in Special Education. Selection based on academic achievement and career goals. Number of awards may vary. Nonrenewable.

This scholarship was established in memory of Betty L. Griesbach ’74. Applicant must be a full- or part-time graduate student or a full-time undergraduate student enrolled the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be majoring in special education. Undergraduate applicants must have met Gateway I requirements and been admitted, or have applied for fall admission, to the Teacher Education Program and must achieve at least junior standing by Fall 2021. Preference will be given to women over 30 years old with family responsibilities. Preference will be given to applicants whose interest is working directly with special needs children or adults, either in the classroom or one-on-one, rather than those applicants whose interest is pursuing other career paths such as research or administration. Preference will be given to applicants with financial need based on the FAFSA. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. If the recipient is graduating in the semester, they are eligible to receive the full award amount in Fall 2021.

This scholarship was established by Dan and Penny Bollom. Recipient must be an incoming freshman from Winnebago or Brown County, WI who has been admitted to the Oshkosh campus for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Recipient cannot be receiving any other scholarships other than financial aid (grants and loans). No application is required; every student meeting these criteria will be automatically considered for the scholarship. The recipient is selected at random. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022. Recipients are eligible to receive three additional years of this scholarship, provided they maintain enrollment at the Oshkosh campus, remain in good standing, continue to have financial need, and there are sufficient funds to support renewals. Renewal award amounts decrease each year of the award based on a formula determined by the donor.

Applicant must be a full-time graduate nursing student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 15 graduate credits. Applicant must be in good standing and must demonstrate academic achievement. Applicant must be a role model of healthy behavior via a self-report of lifestyle improvement or a leadership role within a community group or class. Applicant must have need based on the FAFSA. This award will be paid out in Spring 2023.

This scholarship was established by Max Bowman, UW Oshkosh professor emeritus of chemistry, in honor of his parents, Earl and Alpha Bowman, who were both in the teaching profession. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus or an incoming student accepted for full-time admission to the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have a declared or intended major in biology, microbiology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, geology, psychology, or a closely allied field. In accordance with the donor’s desire to encourage more African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic Americans and females to enter the sciences, preference will be given to applicants from these groups. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited.

Scholarship for undergraduate or graduate students attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh who are majoring in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Geology, Psychology or allied field. Selection based on career goals. Preference given to minority and female applicants. Nonrenewable.

This award was established by the History Department in honor of Dr. Werner Braatz and Dr. Joseph Starr, two long-time department members. It is awarded to a senior history major enrolled at the Oshkosh campus who has demonstrated academic achievement. There is no application for this award. This scholarship was established by Radio-TV-Film alumna Brenda Lau ’83. It recognizes students who demonstrate promise in the field of narrative storytelling. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have a declared major or minor in Radio-TV-Film, English, or creative writing. First preference will be given to a student majoring in Radio-TV-Film or English. Applicant must have at least 45 credits completed and must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Financial need shall not be a consideration. Previous recipients are eligible to apply. However, students may only receive the award a total of two times. This award will be paid out in Spring 2023.

This scholarship was established in 2019 by Bret Goodman ’71. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Application must be admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Business and must be majoring in marketing. Applicant must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and must demonstrate an interest in marketing through marketing-related extra-curricular or professional activities. This award will be paid out in Spring 2022.

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be admitted to the College of Business and must be majoring in finance. Applicant must be enrolled in FINANCE 438 – Student-Managed Endowment Fund during the fall or spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. Preference will be given to students who have completed one term in the course. This award will be paid out in Spring 2022, unless the recipient is graduating earlier.

This scholarship was established by Vivian Karges in memory of her husband, Burton E. Karges, who started the geology program at UW Oshkosh in 1934 and taught at UW Oshkosh until his death in 1972. It is awarded to a graduating senior enrolled in the geology professional emphasis (not hydrogeology) at the Oshkosh campus who has demonstrated an outstanding record of scholarship. There is no application for this award. Selection is based on GPA in geology and overall GPA. For more information, please contact the Geology Department at geology@uwosh.edu. This award will be paid out in Spring 2023.

This scholarship is awarded to high school Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) students who have been admitted to UW Oshkosh as incoming freshmen for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022 and must be planning to pursue a business degree. Students attending the Oshkosh, Fox Cities, or the Fond du Lac campus are eligible to apply. Applicant must apply during their senior year of high school. Applicant must have either successfully completed at least one CAPP course or be currently enrolled in a CAPP course at the time of application. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative high school GPA. Recipients must be enrolled full-time in Fall 2022 to receive the award. This scholarship is not renewable.

Applicant must be an incoming freshmen or incoming transfer student admitted to UW Oshkosh for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Applicant must be admitted to the Business Scholars Program and must intend to major within the College of Business. Students will automatically be considered for this award based on the Business Scholars Program and Scholarship Application. Recipient must be enrolled full-time in Fall 2022 when the award is paid out.

This scholarship was established in 1987 by the family and friends of C. Kevin Hasson. Applicant must be enrolled at the Oshkosh campus and must be majoring in history. Applicant must have junior or senior standing and must have a minimum 3.75 cumulative GPA. Applicant must demonstrate research and writing that contribute to the history discipline. Applicant must show a determination to continue the search for historical truth as a teacher, scholar, professional, history maker, or enlightened citizen. This award will be paid out in Fall 2021.

This scholarship was established in memory of Candice Tylke, a UW Oshkosh alumna who graduated with a BS in biology in 1994. Applicant must be admitted for Spring 2023, Summer 2023, or Fall 2023 or must be currently enrolled at least part-time in the Bachelor of Applied Studies Fire and Emergency Response Management program at the Oshkosh campus. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in fire science/paramedic service. Preference will also be given to fire science graduates of the Madison College and employees of Beloit, WI or St. Francis, WI fire departments. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited. Recipient must be enrolled in at least six credits each semester to receive the scholarship disbursement.

This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen admitted to the Oshkosh campus for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Applicant must have taken at least one UW Oshkosh CAPP course while in high school. Applicant must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5. Recipient must enroll full-time and live in an Oshkosh campus residence hall in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 to receive the award. Recipients of this scholarship are not eligible to receive the CAPP Stay A Titan Award, the Residence Life Access to Excellence Scholarship, or the Campus Life Award. In order to be considered for the award, students must submit their General Application in Academic Works; no additional application is necessary. Awards will be made on a first-come, first-served basis using the General Application submission date. This scholarship will be renewable for a second year provided the recipient maintains a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, completes at least 27 credits between Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, continues to live in on-campus housing during their second year, and provided funding is available.

This scholarship is awarded to high school Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) students who have been admitted to UW Oshkosh as incoming freshmen for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Students attending the Oshkosh, Fox Cities, or the Fond du Lac campus are eligible to apply. Applicant must apply during their senior year of high school. Applicant must have either successfully completed at least one CAPP course or be currently enrolled in a CAPP course at the time of application and must have attended the Northeastern Wisconsin Scholastic Press Association (NEWSPA) Conference at least once during their high school career. Recipients must be enrolled full-time in Fall 2022 to receive the award. This scholarship is not renewable.

This scholarship is awarded to high school Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) students who have been admitted to UW Oshkosh as incoming freshmen for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Students attending the Oshkosh, Fox Cities, or the Fond du Lac campus are eligible to apply. Applicant must apply during their senior year of high school. Applicant must have either successfully completed at least one CAPP course or be currently enrolled in a CAPP course at the time of application. Recipients must be enrolled full-time in Fall 2022 to receive the award. This scholarship is not renewable. Students may apply for the CAPP Scholarship and the Honors College CAPP Scholarship, but are only eligible to receive one of the awards.

This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen admitted to the Oshkosh campus for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Applicant must have taken at least one UW Oshkosh CAPP course while in high school. Applicant must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 and must have at least $2,000 of financial need based on the FAFSA. Recipient must enroll full-time and live in an Oshkosh campus residence hall in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 in order to receive the award. Recipients of this scholarship are not eligible to receive the CAPP Excellence Award, the Residence Life Access to Excellence Scholarship, or the Campus Life Award. In order to be considered for the award, students must submit their General Application in Academic Works; no additional application is necessary. Awards will be made on a first-come, first-served basis using the General Application submission date. This scholarship will be renewable for a second year provided the recipient maintains a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, completes at least 27 credits between Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, continues to live in on-campus housing during their second year, and provided funding is available.

This scholarship was established in 2019 by alumna Carol J. North ’64. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be majoring in elementary education or elementary education/special education dual. Applicant must have been admitted, or have applied for fall admission, to the Teacher Education Program. Applicant must have at least junior standing and must have financial need based on the FAFSA. Applicant must plan to teach upper elementary education (grades 3-6). This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established by Mr. Moore Lee, head administrator of Central Boarding Academy, in appreciation of the Academy’s strong partnership with Gruenhagen Conference Center (GCC) and the outstanding service its staff provides to the international secondary students living in GCC. Applicant must be a full- or part-time student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be employed by GCC. Applicant must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA. This scholarship was established by nursing alumna Cheryl L. Mellenthin ‘79. It is awarded to an incoming freshman accepted for full-time admission to the Oshkosh campus for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Applicant must have an intended major in nursing. Emphasis will be placed on the applicant’s financial need based on an essay. Preference will be given to students from Wisconsin. Recipient will be expected to work in order to help pay for educational expenses (summer or vacation work is acceptable). This award will be split between the Fall 2022 and the Spring 2023 semesters. The recipient will receive the scholarship for a total of four years, provided they maintain full-time enrollment, remain in good academic standing, are accepted into the College of Nursing (once applicable), and funding is available. This scholarship was established by Clifford A. Christl in honor of his father, Clifford H. Christl, and his grandfather, Peter A. Christl. It is awarded to a graduating senior at Green Bay East High School. Preference will be given to students intending to major within the College of Letters & Science and greater preference will be given to students intending to major in journalism. Preference will also be given to first-generation college students. Recipient must enroll full-time at the Oshkosh campus in Fall 2022 in order to receive the award. This award is given to an undergraduate student majoring in German at the Oshkosh campus. First preference is given to an outstanding and deserving senior who is poised for a career in which German will have a prominent role. If there are no students meeting this preference, the award will be given to a student who shows great promise as a German major. If there are no German majors meeting these criteria, the award shall be given to a student in a different field of study in the following order: French, Japanese, and then Spanish. There is no application for this award; it is selected by faculty in the Department of Global Languages and Cultures. This award will be paid out in Spring 2022.

The College of Business offers scholarships to students who are completing a professional development plan for COB CAPP instructor eligibility requirements, are enrolled in College of Business graduate courses, and are teaching UW Oshkosh CAPP courses. The scholarship is applicable to any eligible MBA Professional Program courses the student is enrolled in and the scholarship amount is equivalent to the MBA special course fee. The applicant must meet the MBA GPA and academic standing requirements. Students who are eligible for employer or government tuition benefits that are equal to or greater than $270.82 per credit for in person courses or $320.82 per credit for online courses are not eligible to receive this scholarship. UW System employees are eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship will be paid out in Fall 2022. Students are eligible to receive this scholarship every semester they are enrolled in eligible COB graduate courses. The maximum number of credits that can be earned with the assistance of this scholarship is 18. Scholarships are distributed based on the number of CAPP approved credits taken in a given semester by a student. Students are also eligible to receive additional scholarships offered through the UW Oshkosh Foundation or other organizations.

Emergency funding is meant to assist with a one-time expense, not ongoing financial needs. Students are only eligible to receive grants from the impact fund twice. Additional awards may be granted under extreme circumstances with approval from the dean of the College of Education and Human Services. This scholarship was established in honor of David R. Barnes. Dave was pursuing a teaching degree at UW Oshkosh when he died unexpectedly from cancer treatment in 2007. With a passion for literature and creative writing, he dreamed of being the next Shakespeare. After realizing he probably wouldn’t achieve that dream, he set out to share his gift through teaching. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be in good standing and must have been admitted, or have applied for fall admission, to the Teacher Education Program. This scholarship was established in 2014 by Don’s friends, family, colleagues, and former students. Don was a passionate theatre professor and director at UW Oshkosh, working at the University for 36 years before retiring in 1998. This scholarship is intended to encourage life-long participation and love of theatre, providing financial support for students whose personal and professional qualities mirror the commitment and passion for the performing arts that Don embodied. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA in their major and a minimum of 45 credits completed. First preference will be given to students with a theatre major or minor. However, others are encouraged to apply. Applicant must demonstrate involvement in UW Oshkosh theatre productions. The Doug and Carla Salmon Foundation Scholarship is available to students at University of Wisconsin, Fox Valley. You must have a minimum GPA of 2.75, be a single parent, non-traditional student, minority student or foreign student and demonstrate financial need to qualify for this award.

This scholarship is awarded to highly motivated and academically able undergraduates enrolled at the Oshkosh campus who have a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Applicant must have completed at least one semester at UW Oshkosh. Applicant must have filed the FAFSA (international students and those not eligible to file the FAFSA are exempt from this requirement). Applicant must be pursuing a degree that leads to a clear, direct career path with a self-sufficient wage upon graduation (not requiring an advanced degree). Preferred majors include nursing, education, business (particularly accounting), or medical technology. Applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Preference will be given to single parents, international students, first-generation college students, older students, and those who are overcoming significant financial, social, emotional, or physical barriers to success. Finalists will be required to interview with a Salmon Foundation staff member before recipients will be determined. Students with a family or employment relationship with any member of the Doug and Carla Salmon Foundation board, staff or scholarship selection committee are not eligible. In the case of two equally qualified finalists, preference will be given to the student pursuing a COEHS social studies major. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established in 1996 by Katherine Loy Calvin, in honor of her son David. Dr. Loy was an economics professor at UW Oshkosh from1967 until his retirement in 1993. It is awarded to incoming freshmen who are admitted to the Oshkosh campus for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Applicant must have a minimum 2.8 high school GPA. This scholarship was established by Dr. James Simmons in memory of his wife, Dr. Joan Simmons, a tenured associate professor and former chair of the Department of Literacy and Language at UW Oshkosh. Dr. Simmons established this scholarship so Joan’s memory lives on through other teachers. Applicant must be a candidate or current graduate student in a licensure, certificate, or master’s degree program within the Literacy and Language Department at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be registered to, and in good standing within, the Literacy and Language graduate program. Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and must have at least 2-3 years experience teaching at the middle or secondary level or as a K-12 discipline specialist (art, music or physical education). Extracurricular (excluding athletics) or community activities, as well as demonstration of financial need based on an essay, will be taken into consideration, but will not be the dominant criteria in the selection process. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be majoring in microbiology within the College of Letters & Science. Applicant must have financial need based on a statement. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and must have senior standing by the time the award is paid out. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited.

This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Madhu N. Mahadeva, professor of biology at UW Oshkosh from 1968 to 1991. The scholarship is intended for a high-achieving female with a high grade-point average in her chosen science major of mathematics, biology, microbiology, chemistry, or physics/astronomy. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus, with a commitment to a career requiring rigorous education in the sciences. Preference will be given to applicants with an interest in pursuing advanced study, research, or leadership roles in areas in which women are traditionally underrepresented. Applicant must have between 54 and 80 credits and must have earned a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA in their major. Financial need based on an essay may be considered only to differentiate candidates who meet all other criteria. This award will be paid out in Fall 2021.

This scholarship was established by Dr. Ronald and Kenlynn Akin, in honor of their family’s connection to UW Oshkosh. Applicant must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be majoring in Mathematics (not including Mathematics Education) or Computer Science and must have at least junior standing. Applicant must have financial need based on the FAFSA and must have a minimum 2.67 cumulative GPA. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Sherman Randerson, professor at UW Oshkosh from 1966 to 1987. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be majoring in biology, biomedical science, or microbiology and must have a minimum of 30 credits completed. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established by Dr. Thomas ’79 and Suzanne Zoch in 2020. It is awarded to a junior or senior who is committed to a career as a health care professional and who will be continuing their education at a professional or medical school. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have one of the following pre-professional programs declared on their student record: PP-Medicine, PP-Dentistry, PP-Optometry, PP-Occupational Therapy, PP-Physical Therapy, PP-Physician’s Assistant, or a related pre-professional program. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Previous recipients are not eligible to apply for the award in subsequent years. Selection will be primarily based on the applicant’s promise and potential to succeed in their anticipated career in healthcare. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established in memory of E. Garner Horton, member of the UW Oshkosh administration and faculty from 1963 to 1983. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be a public relations major or journalism major in the advertising-public relations emphasis, with a strong interest in becoming a public relations practitioner. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and must have at least sophomore standing. Applicant must exhibit an understanding of and a commitment to the professional standards that are expected of PR practitioners. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established by alumnus Ed Karrels ’97. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at or accepted for admission for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022 at UW Oshkosh. Applicant must be majoring in a discipline other than music (music minors are eligible). Applicant must have a keen interest in music and must have realistic and identifiable goals for their time at UW Oshkosh and after graduation. Applicant must be an instrumental musician who is accepted into a department of music ensemble group and must take hour-long (two-credit) lessons each semester at the Oshkosh campus. First preference will be given to brass performers. Applicant must complete a music scholarship audition. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited. Students enrolled at the Fox Cities or Fond du Lac campuses must transfer to the Oshkosh campus in order to receive the final two years of the award. Recipients are expected to send annual correspondence to the donor describing the impact of the award on their future career plans, their progress as a musician, and some of their favorite performances over the last year (include recordings if available).

This scholarship is named after two individuals who, while unable to attend college themselves, supported and encouraged the education of all those in their lives. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have an interest in small business and/or family business. Applicant must have a commendable scholastic record (a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA) and must be active in extracurricular activities (excluding athletics) or work. Scholarship for female undergraduate students attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh who have the intent to start a small business or are involved in a family business. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Nonrenewable.

This scholarship was established by alumna Eileen Hanselman Kuhlers ‘63. Applicant must be an incoming freshman admitted to the Oshkosh campus for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Applicant must have an intended major in music performance (vocal or instrumental) or music education. Students must complete an audition to be admitted into the music department, however, audition performance is not a factor in award selection. Applicant must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.0. The primary criteria for selection are the applicant’s promise and potential to pursue music studies at the post-secondary level and an inability to attend college without the assistance of this scholarship. Applicant must have financial need based on the FAFSA, but must only qualify for federal loans and may not be eligible for need-based grants. Recipient must be enrolled full-time in order to receive the award. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester or is no longer majoring in music performance or music education, the second installment will be forfeited. The award is renewable for an additional three years provided the recipient continues to meet all of the criteria and funding is available.

This scholarship was established by Elizabeth Bymers Regan, who taught nursing in the UW System for 23 years. Applicant must be enrolled at the Oshkosh campus and must be admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Nursing. Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in one of the following areas (in decreasing order of priority: BSN completion program, MSN program (for students who have already earned a BSN degree), or traditional BSN program. Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating financial need based on the FAFSA. Preference will be given to students from Central, Northern, or Northeastern Wisconsin, with greater preference given to those from Northeast WI. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited.

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled in the traditional BSN program at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have at least sophomore standing and preference will be given to sophomore students. Applicant must have financial need based on the FAFSA and must have earned satisfactory grades in college work (not less than C average). Previous recipients are eligible to apply. However, a student may only receive the award a total of two times. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established in 2019 by Diana Enciso Lopez ’17 to financially assist highly motivated and academically able undergraduate students who are pursuing a business degree. Applicant must be enrolled full- or part-time at the Oshkosh campus. Application must be admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Business. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and must have financial need based on a statement. Preference will be given to students falling into any of the following categories: DACA status, international student, first-generation college student, working parent, non-traditional student (age 25 or older), or veteran. Previous recipients are not eligible to apply. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters. If the recipient is graduating in the fall semester, they are eligible to receive the full award amount in Fall 2022.

This award is given to students admitted to or enrolled at UW Oshkosh. It is given for Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 at the discretion of the UW Oshkosh Music Department based on the students’ scholarship auditions; no application is required. This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen admitted to the Oshkosh campus for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Applicant must have an intended major of engineering technology. Applicant must have a minimum 3.25 high school GPA and ACT score of at least 22 (or SAT equivalent). Preferred applicants will have a minimum 3.5 high school GPA and ACT score of at least 25 (or SAT equivalent). In order to be considered for the award, students must submit their General Application in Academic Works; no additional application is necessary. This scholarship was established by Eugene ’59 and Nancy ’63, ’90 Winkler. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus who meets one of the following requirements: 1) a declared major in the College of Education and Human Services within the following departments: Teaching & Learning, Human Kinetics & Health Education, or Special & Early Childhood Education or 2) at least one parent who is or was a K-12 teacher. Preference will be given to students who meet both of these criteria. Applicant must have between 25 and 60 credits completed. This includes all college-level credits: CLEP, CAPP, retro, transfer, etc. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Involvement and demonstrated leadership in UW Oshkosh extracurricular activities (excluding athletics) will be considered. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022. This award was established in honor of Gary Coll, professor of journalism at UW Oshkosh for 36 years. The fellowship provides financial assistance to journalism students for professional opportunities. Funding may be used to partially cover travel and related expenses for the following opportunities: 1) an internship or job shadow at a prominent journalism organization in a distant city; 2) a journalism conference; or 3) an academic competition for journalism students. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be majoring in journalism, must have completed at least 60 credits, and must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. GPA is one of the key selection criteria. This award will be paid in the semester in which the recipient is participating in the opportunity.

This scholarship is awarded to high school Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) students who have been admitted to the UW Oshkosh Honors College as incoming freshmen for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Applicant must apply during their senior year in high school. Applicant must have either successfully completed at least one CAPP course or be currently enrolled in a CAPP course at the time of application. Recipient must be enrolled full-time in Fall 2022 in order to receive the award. This scholarship is not renewable. Students may apply for the CAPP Scholarship and the Honors College CAPP Scholarship, but are only eligible to receive one of the awards. Students enrolled at the Fox Cities or Fond du Lac campuses are eligible to apply for this award if they plan to enroll in the Honors College. However, honors courses are currently only offered at the Oshkosh campus.

This award is given to outstanding music students who win the Honors Young Artist Competition. Recipient must be enrolled at UW Oshkosh. There is no application for this award. Finalists must be nominated by music department faculty. Recipients are selected by a panel of judges from the music department. These awards will be paid out in Spring 2022.

This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen admitted to the Oshkosh campus for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Recipient must have completed their last four semesters of elementary school at Redgranite Elementary School. It is awarded primarily based on scholarship ability and secondarily based on financial need. The application and selection process is managed by Wautoma High School. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022. The award is renewable for an additional three years, provided the recipient maintains full-time enrollment, a 3.0 GPA, and funding is available.

This scholarship was established in honor of Inez and Louis Chicquette, lifelong supporters of public education in the state of Wisconsin. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled in the special and early childhood education program at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have met Gateway I requirements and been admitted, or have applied for fall admission, to the Teacher Education Program. Applicant must demonstrate academic achievement and must be in good standing with the department of special and early childhood education. Preference will be given to applicants with a major in special education. Special consideration will be given to an applicant who has served in the military or has had a family member serve within the last 10 years. Financial need based on an essay may be considered, but will not be the deciding factor in selection. This award will be paid out in Fall 2021.

Applicant must be enrolled full- or part-time at the Oshkosh campus, with a major or minor in information systems. Applicant must have at least junior standing and a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Applicant must have completed IS 201 or CS 221 with a B or better and must be enrolled in or have completed IS 318 or IS 445. Applicant must demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities (excluding athletics) that contribute to the development of their leadership skills, oral and written communication skills, teamwork abilities, interpersonal skills, and technical skills. Preference will be given to students who are active members in the UW Oshkosh IS Club. Financial need is not a consideration. This award will be paid out in Spring 2022.

This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen or transfer students admitted to UW Oshkosh for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Applicant must be admitted to the Business Scholars Program, must intend to declare a major within the College of Business, and must have an interest in a career in insurance. Students will automatically be considered for this award based on the Business Scholars Program and Scholarship Application. Recipient must enroll full-time in Fall 2022 in order to receive the award. Recipient may receive three additional years of this award, provided they declare an insurance minor or emphasis once they are admitted to the College of Business, they maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, and funding is available.

This award is given to the full-time elementary education major with junior standing who increased their GPA the most between the completion of their freshman year and their sophomore year. Recipient must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program and must be enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. No application is required for this award. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established by Annette Blanchette ‘60 in honor of her mother, who was unable to realize her dream of becoming a nurse. The purpose of the award is to help provide other women the opportunity her mother never had. Applicant must be a female, non-traditional student (25 or older) admitted to the College of Nursing’s traditional BSN program at the Oshkosh campus. Financial need will be considered based on a statement. This award will be paid out in Fall 2021.

This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Irving H. Wallace, former UW Oshkosh faculty member. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have sophomore or junior standing and must have financial need based on the FAFSA. Applicant must demonstrate academic achievement. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

The Isaac Kayando Leadership Award is given to a political science major who is enrolled at the Oshkosh campus and has demonstrated a continuing commitment to campus and community service. There is no application process for this award; it is given at the discretion of the Political Science Department. This award will be paid out in Spring 2022.

This scholarship was established by Isabelle “Izzy” St. John and her parents, Lee and Joy St. John, in 2017, while Izzy was still on her journey through nursing school. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be admitted to the College of Nursing’s traditional BSN program. Applicant must have a minimum 3.75 cumulative GPA. Financial need is not a consideration. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established in 2013 by James H. Fischer ’70 to encourage high school graduates to continue their education. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who is admitted to the Oshkosh campus for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022. Applicant must plan to major in biology, biomedical science, environmental health, medical imaging, microbiology, PP-medicine, or geology. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA and must not have more than one sibling. Financial need is not a consideration. Recipient must enroll full-time in Fall 2022 in order to receive the award. This award shall be renewed one time, provided the recipient continues to meet the criteria of the award and funding is available.

Cecelia and Jeffrey Jensen established this scholarship in 2018, in honor of her father’s entrepreneurial spirit and with gratitude for his guidance and professional example. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be admitted, or have applied for spring admission, to the College of Business. Preference will be given to applicants with an emphasis in entrepreneurship and small business management. Applicant must have a demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship as demonstrated through extra-curricular activities and entrepreneurial pursuits. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship was established in memory of James W. Unger, professor of biology at UW Oshkosh for 30 years. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have a declared biology, biomedical science, or microbiology major, a minimum of 36 credits completed, and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Financial need based on an essay will be considered, but will not be the determining factor. Previous recipients are eligible to apply, but students may only receive the award twice. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

Undergraduate applicants must have been admitted, or have applied for fall admission, to the Teacher Education Program and must be pursuing a regular education licensure in grades 4K-12 (special education licensures are not eligible). Graduate applicants must be admitted to the MSE Teaching and Learning program. This award is given to the winners of the Communication Studies Department’s annual public speaking contest, held each December. One student from each COMM 111 class is selected to compete, based on a persuasive policy speech prepared for that course. Speeches are judged based on content and delivery. The applicant, due to circumstances deemed beyond his or her control, must have financial need of support to continue their education. This scholarship is for students who have finished a Quest III course and are excited to promote their program and community experience with other students. Applicant must be currently enrolled in at least six credits as an undergraduate student at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have successfully completed a Quest III course (or Honors equivalent) and must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. This award will be paid out in Spring 2021. Finalists may be asked to complete an interview or submit a short video before recipients are selected. Before the award is disbursed, recipients must give a 10 minute presentation at the Celebration of Scholarship & Creative Activity about their course addressing the following: their experience with their community partner, reflections on what they learned, and insights into either how this could be researched in the future or how they will continue to work with this project in the future. Katzman, Sr. This scholarship was created by Bob’s son and UW Oshkosh alumnus, Russell “Russ” Katzman, in order to help ease the educational burden on those looking to create their own entrepreneurial legacy. Applicant must be admitted or enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be pursuing a bachelor or master’s degree and must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Applicant must demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit through demonstrated entrepreneurial experience, a current business venture, or demonstrated passion to start their own business (e.g. a member of the UW Oshkosh Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation). This scholarship was established in honor of Dr. Robert T. Nash, founder and director of Project Success from 1979 to 1998. Applicant must be enrolled full-time at UW Oshkosh. Undergraduate students must have between 45 and 85 credits completed and must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA. Graduate students must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA. This scholarship was established in memory of Stanley Linton, coordinator of music education at UW Oshkosh from 1952 to 1984. Applicant must be a full-time music education major who is admitted to the Teacher Education Program at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have earned at a minimum 3.0 GPA overall and in all music courses. Applicant must demonstrate a commitment to teaching. The Stanley Ostrand Memorial Scholarship is available to students at University of Wisconsin, Fox Valley. This Award is given to a student enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Students enrolled at any campus (Oshkosh, Fox Cities, or Fond du Lac) are eligible. To be considered, students must submit an original script of 25-30 pages in a double-spaced, bound, play-script format to the theatre department office. There is no application required within Academic Works for this award. The award will be paid out in Spring 2022.

The ThedaCare Pre- Nursing Scholarship is available to students at University of Wisconsin, Fox Valley. You must be majoring in nursing, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate activity within the community to qualify for this award. Preference is given to students planning to attend UW Oshkosh who plan to stay in the Fox Valley area and seek employment within the ThedaCare system.

Applicant must be a graduate or undergraduate student enrolled in a minimum of six credits in a degree-seeking program at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have financial need based on the FAFSA. This scholarship was established in 2019 based on the fundraising efforts of Jon Lica, ’09. Applicant must be an undergraduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be a degree-seeking student. Applicant must have junior standing and must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Applicant must be actively involved in activities outside the classroom, such as extra-curricular activities, volunteer activities, or working. Due to NCAA division III regulations, athletic involvement cannot be considered in the selection of scholarships. This award will be paid out in Fall 2021.

This scholarship is awarded to high school Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) students who have been admitted to UW Oshkosh as incoming freshmen for Summer 2022 or Fall 2022 and are planning to join the marching band. Students attending the Oshkosh, Fox Cities, or the Fond du Lac campus are eligible to apply. Applicant must apply during their senior year of high school. Applicant must have either successfully completed at least one CAPP course or be currently enrolled in a CAPP course at the time of application. Recipients must be enrolled full-time and must be enrolled in MUSIC 156 (Titan Thunder Marching Band) in Fall 2022 to receive the award. This scholarship is not renewable. Students may apply for the CAPP Scholarship and the Titan Thunder CAPP Scholarship, but are only eligible to receive one of the awards.

This scholarship was established in honor of Vicki Lord Larson, the first woman to serve as Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at UW Oshkosh. Applicant must be a female undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have earned between 30 and 80 credits at the time of application, with at least half of the credits earned at UW Oshkosh. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 UWO cumulative GPA. Applicant must demonstrate contributions to the University and community with preference given to students who show leadership in activities focused on women (excluding athletic participation). Activities can be, but are not limited to, working for equal rights for women, volunteering in organizations that support women and their families, raising awareness of women’s health issues, engaging in women’s social issues, or participating as a leader in issues of concern to both men and women, but traditionally labeled “women’s issues.” Financial need based on the FAFSA will be of secondary consideration only. The UW Oshkosh Whitburn Center for Governance and Policy Research offers a graduate research assistant position. Students holding this position are eligible to receive a tuition remission award. To be eligible for the award, the graduate assistant must hold a minimum 33% FTE appointment and must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits at UW Oshkosh. The tuition remission will be applied to the recipient’s student account as a scholarship each semester they are eligible to receive the award. The recipient is responsible for paying their segregated fees and any other fees. The award is contingent on available funding.

This scholarship honors parents and grandparents who instill the value of education in their family. Applicant must be a graduate nursing student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Preference will be given to applicants with a Nurse Educator emphasis who have an interest in teaching in an academic setting and a future goal of achieving a PhD in nursing. If no Nurse Educator emphasis students apply, students in other emphases or the DNP program may apply. This award will be paid out in Fall 2022.

This scholarship is awarded to the high school senior who has the highest GPA in their WI high school. Students will be notified by their high school if they have been designated as an Academic Excellence Scholar (AES) and will also be asked to submit an AES form to the WI Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB). Students must attend a college that offers the Academic Excellence Scholarship in order to receive the award. Academic Excellence Scholars attending any UW Oshkosh campus are eligible to receive this scholarship. Recipients may receive the award for a total of four years (eight semesters), provided the recipient maintains full-time enrollment, earns a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, makes satisfactory progress toward a degree, and their award is approved by HEAB.
