The application period is open from December 1st to July 1st for scholarships that will be awarded for the 2022-2023 Academic year. Apply before April 1st to be considered as a priority applicant. Departmental Scholarship awarded to current Western students who are in the ESL program. To be eligible, a student must: Have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA or higher. An Oral Best Plus test score of 4-7. (High Beginner to Intermediate) Continue taking classes each semester towards earning the ESL Certificate. Submit a 5-8 minute video using Studio in your Canvas account. Applicants must fill out a Western release of information form so student video and student responses can be used as testimonials. Use Apple Clips or other video creation software for the presentation. To access Studio please CLICK HERE and login with your MyWestern credentials. Then you will “add” video in the top right hand corner either directly from your computer or from YouTube. Wyoming Works Scholarship

Up to $840
Wyoming Works is a state grant program and resources are targeted toward adult students to advance their skills in areas that lead to secure employment. Space and grant funding is limited. Funding is only guaranteed for one year. Maximum award amounts for the Wyoming Works Standard Grant will be up to $840 per semester and the Wyoming Works Critical Grant will be up to $1,680 per semester. American Legion Family And Dependents Scholarship Endowment

This endowment is available to Veterans who have been honorably discharged or Veterans who were discharged under honorable conditions. The Veteran (or their spouse/dependent, if applicable) shall live in Sweetwater, Sublette, Uinta or Lincoln County. Veterans will always take precedence. Hathaway Scholarship

The Wyoming State Legislature approved legislation during their Spring 2006 session to establish a scholarship fund for Wyoming students to attend Western Wyoming Community college, any of the other six Wyoming community colleges, or the University of Wyoming. The legislation creates merit and need-based awards for eligible students to provide an incentive to pursue post-secondary education within the State of Wyoming. In addition, students initiating their Hathaway Scholarship at Western before July 31st who are Honors or Performance level will receive an enhancement to their Hathaway award. Hathaway award levels, requirements, and values are as follows. Honors: $3,360 yearly award + $1,200 yearly enhancement (if requirement met) Requires a minimum 3.5 high school GPA and an ACT composite of 25 Must complete State required class curriculum Performance: $2,520 yearly award + $1,000 yearly enhancement (if requirement met) Requires a minimum 3.0 high school GPA and an ACT composite of 21 Must complete State required class curriculum Opportunity: $1,680 yearly award Requires a minimum 2.5 high school GPA and an ACT composite of 19 Must complete State required class curriculum Provisional: $1,680 yearly award Requires a minimum 2.5 high school GPA and an ACT composite of 17 Must complete State required class curriculum In order to receive awards, the Hathaway scholarship must be initiated and final transcripts must be received by July 31st. Hathaway Scholarships are awarded based on college-level class enrollment; if below 12 college-level credit hours, awards are prorated. If you earned a high school equivalency certificate (GED, HiSET) or were homeschooled please mark that on the application under the “Name of High School” field and send in any required documents including ACT scores or certificates. Rocket Miner Scholarship

The Rocket Miner and Western have started collaborating to create new scholarships that will be available to students living in our service area of, Sweetwater, Sublette, Lincoln, Uinta, and Carbon counties. There will be three scholarships available for the Fall of 2022 semester and each of them will be worth one-third of a student’s full-time tuition!* Preference may be given to non-traditional students and students with greater unmet financial needs. Quality candidates will be invited on campus for a final interview and selection with the Rocket Miner Scholarship Review Team prior to the start of the fall term. This endowment is available to full-time students who have demonstrated financial need, who have a Hathaway-qualifying GPA or GED score, but who have a composite ACT score of 16 or lower. Applicants must have a completed FAFSA to be eligible. Awarded students must complete 12 or more credits and maintain a GPA of 2.25 to be re-awarded. Transfer Scholarship

Scholarship for students transferring to WWCC after attending another post-secondary educational institution. The transfer must occur within 5 years of last college attendance. Applicants must have a minimum 3.5 college GPA and completed a minimum of 12 college credit hours. Students must complete 12 credits each semester with a 3.00 GPA. Students who receive a Hathaway or Out of State Academic Scholarship are not eligible for this scholarship.
